(readies an action to attack when the rats gets close. ushers everyone to the other tunnel and takes rear guard.)
Hadrian grips his axe and readjusts the shield's leather handle on his palm. the dust and the water have made it a bit harder to keep a hold of his items. He blinks through the dust as he allowed everyone to pass him. He nodded as Jetsam passes to let him know he is taking rear guard and follows the group when they all have gone through. He watches the back of the group as they go hurriedly along to slash at the first hungry rat that got to the tail of their group.
Jetsam has been planning to take the rear guard but since Hadrian has it, he moves past him to his full 30 ft and unslings his crossbow to ready an attack at any rat that gets past Hadrian.

If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
Fiske follows the rest of the group rushing past Hadrian as he lets loose an eldritch blast at one of the oncoming rats: Attack: 13 Damage: 14 He sends his pseudodragon full steam ahead (60ft) to scout in front of them.
Rizo, Fiske, Balasar, your attacks hit the horde of rats, and they hiss as they burn to death, however, they keep charging forward until finally, they reach you, but unexpectedly, they don't even notice or acknowledge you. They all run straight past you, as if they were running from something.
“What the heck?” Jetsam, while no expert on the behavior of rats is a seasoning warrior and the realization slowly hits that this is the same behavior he’s seen when on an armies morale breaks and the men start running…

Muriel says, "Something about this isn't right. Everyone, I'm gonna see whats in the other tunnel, anyone who wishes to come, come, but those who stay, so be it."
Muriel will then walk about 10 ft into the other tunnel and since she has darkvision, will attempt to see further into the tunnel
Muriel hears the shuffling of feet, and she can hear the groan of what seems to be a man in pain. Then suddenly, the person comes into view. A man shuffles into view, and it looks as if he has dragging his left foot behind him. His eyes are grey, the pupils lifeless and gone, his skin a sickly pale grey and peeling off in some places. Parts of his hair was gone, revealing the skull beneath. Muriel gasped in horror for a second, but quickly calmed down. She realized that she was looking at a Revenant, and she remembered what Master Jashin had said about them, about how they were given a cruel and undeserved death, and how the spirit would not leave to the afterlife until it has had vengeance. And they usually killed anyone who got in the way.
Muriel held up her spear, and got ready for a fight.
