@Wes: did you want to try and stealth vs their active search to impose the surprised condition on one of the mind flayers and potentially have advantage from unseen attacker, or just roll for initiative?
Sorry for the delay. Thanks for clarifying what would happen.
I’ll send message to as many of my companions as I can and ask, “should we attack them by surprise?”
As I read it, the spell targets one creature.
Anyone have a response?
<FYI, I'm not playing this exactly like I think they would do it. If there are two of them on lookout, they'd probably tske turns using detect thoughts at will, so it's always active without interruption. Short of a mind blank spell or similar abjurations, this is a very effective means of detecting hidden creatures. That said, that isn't happening here.>
(Just rolling one for the one you attack, thr other one will figure it out when he sees that. Rolling both mind flayers would be analogous to AD, so Def. Not doing that)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Not sure if he's surprised or not, until I see the stealth roll. If stealth succeeds, M1 is surprised, but for now M2 blasts Vishnu with a burst of telepathic energy. DC15 Int save or take 22 psychic damage and stunned for one minute (additional save chances at the end of each turn)

They are levitating, is there any place to stand on their level?
Kandalou moves around the corner and throws two javelins at M1. Advantage from surprise cancels out disadv from long range.
