Colm turns back towards the boulder when a thought strikes him. “Got me an idea. If you’d kindly stand aside.” After everyone moves, he steps right up to the boulder and pulls out his flute. He plays a few slow notes on it, then a high, kind of blasting one, casting Thunderwave.

If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
The delicate sound of the flute is lost to the two men above who were just introducing themselves, but the cachophonous roar of the final tone was unmistable even over the rumble of the thunder and lightning.
A blast of sonic energy roared forth from the instrument, with the bard leaning in to direct the note squarely at the large stone before him. The magical wave blasted the wind and rain out and away from him, and managing to move even the large boulder, though perhaps not as far as he had hoped.
I hate to do this, because it was a really great idea that I hadnt thought of. But I feel like I should take exception to the idea of "unsecured items". To me, thats a light(ish) item capable of being carried. An enormous stone is not that. Rocks are heavy. I even went and did some research, because I wanted this to work. The lightest reasonable solid stone rock I found was 150 lbs per cubic foot (most are 160-180), and so what we end up with, even considering I wasnt precise in my size description, is something that weights between one and two tons. When I consider the spell might move at most 6 people weighing 300 pounds back I find its not likely to have moved the stone, especially given the additional burden of overcoming the friction of it being embedded in the ground over time. It certainly wouldnt have moved it 10 feet.
So, what do we do? We can leave it as , with there now being a big enough gap for you (but not the wagons) to potentially move through the doorway OR I make a new post, where the old post was just in Colm's head, and you hash out some other way of getting that stone out of the way.
While youre deciding Colm, make an animal handling check.

I think maybe say I just moved it between two and five feet, or so.

"Haha! That works! Alright, let's all get in- I don't want to know what kind of things a sound that loud could attract. I'm not sure what we should do about the wagons, though."
(By the way, Colm has proficiency in Animal Handling, so that roll would have been an 18. In the future, it might be easier to roll on your character sheet and then post the roll on here, since it automatically adds bonuses and can still be verified via the campaign log.)

With the stone moved from its resting place the group quickly finds a giant stone handle on one of the doors. Any worries the group had that the door too would be too heavy to open were quickly dismissed though. It took both of them with the help of two of the guards and a rope, but with a minute of extra effort they finally managed to get the door open to about a arms length wide - wide enough for humans to pass through, but not the wagon.
Meanwhile, down the road... (Ali + Kimo)
Just as the two of you get within a few paces where you might be able to get a good look at each other there is a deafening roar of thunder from a very short distance ahead. Unlike the thunder accompanying lightning, this roar came from near ground level, and without the warning of a bolt of lightning.
And at the top of the hill (Kas + Brade)
Looking for you guys to do introductions and make a decision based on the thunderous blast you just heard below
"Kasymir, eh? I'm Brade. And yeah, it's wet alright. It'll sure be nice to have some company on a stormy moonless night like this."
Brade hopes to converse further with this new acquaintance, but they are interrupted by the booming blast. He reflexively reaches for the blade at his side, but relaxes and does not draw it.
"What was that?? Sounded like a blast of thunder, but where was the flash of lightning?"
“I’ll acccompany you. With luck, we may make even more friends this night.”
Brade follows Kasymir, still gripping his shield while the other hand strays to his sheathed sword almost of its own accord. He would rather not have to fight and kill people on this dark night. Much better to make friends, share a meal, swap stories… But Brade was ready for either scenario.
It was difficult for Kasymir to make his way down the hill safely, carrying his weapons and having come up a different goat path on the other side. He used his free hand to stablize himself against the odd rock. He knew the dangers a twisted ankle or a missed step could cause a man, and the last thing he wanted was to end up with a broken ankle, broken neck, face first in the mud, or worse - all three. He moved with deliberateness, and soon arrived at the bottom of the hill a short distance from the merchant caravan.
The other man however showed a level of physical prowess and dexterity to almost RUN down the hill. Or at least that's how it seemed to those who caught sight of the man, shield in hand, vaulting over rocks and confidently navigating his way down despite the treacherous terrain and near total darkness.
I took the liberty of making some rolls for both Kas and Brade to help write my short narrative - especially if you forget to make a roll. I'll always try to stay true your PCs skills and personality. If I get that wrong, let me know in a PM, and I'll adjust my notes and might even bring it up in some future scene.
Sometimes my rolls may also lead to private messages where you are encouraged to share something you just learned (or not).
Also ironically I rolled two 20s for those rolls - which is good I guess in that I "burned" them (if you believe in those sorts of things) in what might otherwise have been attacks against your PCs. :D
At least that's how Brade imagined it going in his mind. But he hadnt taken more than couple of steps toward the hill, already scanning for a safe way down, when the other man put a hand on his shoulder, and having gotten his attention, pointed to the rope descending into the hole in the middle of the ruined tower floor.
Waiting for Brade to say whether he's going down the hill or down the rope.
Down Below (Everyone Else)
Behind the bard and his healing companion the driver was yelling , possibly out of frustration, possibly just to be heard over the storm. The tiny stinging drops of rain had turned to small pellets of ice, making life even more miserable if that was possible. The horses stomped nervously, jerking at their bindings, and snorting in frustration. Behind them the two guards had taken up their angst-ridden watch of the darkness around them, but were doing so from down low, half squatting under the shelter of the wagons.
"Look, we CANT get the wagons in and we CANT leave them. We have to get the doors open or move on!" the driver said as he gestured wildly at the door and then the wagons, as if the extra emphasis would help make his message clear.
From the road two new forms approached, almost running as they used their walking sticks to maintain their balance in the muddy ground.
Waiting for introductions and interactions down below, and some decisions.
I had to do a little rewrite there, because I misinterpreted what Kasymir meant.
Ali and Kimo see a frustrated young woman with short brown hair. Donned in chainmail, with a mace at her side and a holy symbol of Amaril around her neck, you gather that her profession is less than secret.
"HEY! You two! There's shelter in here, but we need help getting in. Think you can lend a hand?"

Brade gives a puzzled look at the hole in the floor and the rope going down. It’s a complication and he doesn’t like having to think about complications.
“That’s odd,” he says to Kasymir, “I wonder who’s down there. Something to think about later, I suppose. For now I want to head down the hill and see what that noise was.”
Brade will head down the hill, not down the hole. (I assumed that was where Kasymir was going too?)
Despite the urging of the ranger he had met on the top of the hill the strong young bearded man had made up his mind. Despite his initial imaginings of a bold and dramatic trip down the goat path to the caravan below, his actual descent was far more measured. Stowing his shield on his back so that he could keep at least one hand free, the man picked his way down a meandering path to the ground below, arriving not too far from the main doors the others were investigating.
(At this point Im looking for everyone at the bottom to tell me what they want to do, and do any introductions, etc that they feel are appropriate in the moment. The rain has turned to sleet, and some of it is even larger now, to the point of hurting.)

"I can assure you this isn't nat'ral! That last thunder was diff'rent, let's head that way, maybe it's a cave echo!"
She shouts over the storm
Brade gives an easy smile as he meets Kasymir.

Nature to determine if thunder is natural...9
Kasymir hears the flute, then comes the explosive thunder.
"What in the..." He begins, and fails to determine an explicative. "I don't know about you, but I am going down. "
