Binder's Hold and the Problem with the Mine.

If there are threats lurking about in the lower depths it wouldn't make sense to just stay and fight till the bitter end, not when we have been split from the others. Besides, this sword..." the dark knight mutters as he sheaths Alondite behind his back. "...Whatever convinced this water monster to drag it, it must be of high value. Unless if there's something odd about it..."

Aegnor gives a sigh of relief and pats Shadow for a job well done, in common,  "Good boy Shadow.  I knew we'd set things right.  Looks like we'll see what's going on tomorrow morning after reverie at the townhall.  Here is a nice little snack."

"Is it time for a drink yet?  What a crazy course of events.  What ever happened to the other two?"

"You know... for someone who hates showing his true identity, you're a lot softer than I thought. But yeah I agree: we should leave before anything wacky else happens." She smirks as she follows the dark knight out of the cave and quietly to the exit of the mansion. "Speaking of which though... now that we have been separated from the rest after they presumably ditched us... I wonder what they're up to right now?"

Vanya replies to Aegnor, "It's always time for a drink! Come on, time to celebrate getting out of trouble again."

Guile, observing for most of the time, finally speaks up once it's clear the group is clear of blame.

"Quite an evening.  I look forward to the rest.  In terms of what's going on, all I can surmise is what Arnel told us- Reginald Ironcrag will be the new general in charge and was Agnir's competition.  I'm not sure what the lizardman shaman had to do with all this, but the others may have just been pawns."

(Everyone levels up and takes a long rest)

The group is informed that you are to report to Headquarters the next day, after your noon meal.  The rest of the night is peaceful, though you do notice that a guard has been posted outside your hostel's door. 

The maul Vanja picked up is Silvered.  

After Zelgius and Kumiko get settled in, they'll be able to determine that the blade recovered is a Crystal Longsword: This magic sword’s blade is fashioned from a horn or spine from a crystal dragon. When you hit with an attack roll using this sword, the target takes an extra 1d8 radiant damage. The sword has 3 charges and regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn. When you hit a creature with an attack roll using the sword, you can expend 1 charge to regain a number of hit points equal to the extra radiant damage the sword dealt. While you’re holding the sword, you can use a bonus action to cause it to shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet, to cause it to shed dim light in a 10-foot radius, or to douse the light.

I'm assuming that Guile has scribed the Water Breathing scroll into his spellbook.

In the morning, the guard tells you that a new commander has been temporarily put in place since there is no clear line of succession.  His name is Joseph Aerris.

Assuming nothing else comes up, Aerris will inform you that he was looking over the plans Agnir had written up.  It looks like your group is to be the first sortie through the newly cleared mine area to determine the potential dangers coming from the passage that the Troglodytes came from.

Map just immediately passed the cleared mine area.  You will be entering from the North (top of map).  Exits to the south and east.

How is everyone set up (also make sure to sound off in OCC channel)

Aegnor is ready.  He summoned a skeleton for his 24hr animate dead ability.  With Shadow his trusted Dire wolf at his side.

He holds his rod of the Pact keeper.  He commands his skeleton to follow and guard him.  He tells Shadow to heel and guard.

After arriving from the barracks yet again, the black knight keeps the crystal longsword tucked behind him alongside Alondite as he stays 5ft behind everyone else.

Gema isn't afraid to make first contact and is near the front. She's cast false life on herself (6hp cast in game log)

She is carrying her shield in one hand and has the other empty.

So any updates on where those stupid imposters ran off to? Kumiko grumbles in her thoughts as she stays somewhat close to Zelgius after what happened the previous night when she got ditched.

Vanja skips along with the others, whistling happily at the thought of more fighting.
