Wilfred looks to Roo' and hangs his head. "I'm sorry Roo', I should have held back some more. But these people are dangerous and we can't exactly hold back, not with you lot right here. It wouldn't be right if you died. Thavius might have some answers, so we won't hurt him too bad if he puts up a fight. I'm hoping he has some answers, anyways... For you I mean." Wilfred looks as the others keep messing with the statue. "Look, are we going to knock it down or what? I can help, if you all want."
Reed looks between the open secret door (the one in the west wall and what might be beyond it) and back to Roo. He nods solemnly.
"Roo, we'll find out what happened to Foghorn, and we'll help you punish the heck out of who did it," Reed says, looking back to the secret room and then back to Roo. "And if the Gallus need somewhere safe to move too, I'm pretty sure they'll be welcome out in Thornvalley. There's lots of good farm land and plenty of space in the Trielta Hills. It would be good to have some proper sized neighbours around. The last ones were bad big people."
He looks back into the secret passage.
"And well, they had to die." Reed says with a smile. "Now let's kill the rest of the cultists down here."
"There are conversations to be had for sure once we have finished rooting out the cultists and have determined Thavius Kreeg's role in this. And if he is complicit, he will share the fate of the majority of the Vanthampurs", Corlith says looking to Reya for her reaction.
"And as for the statue, just topple it already and let's get moving".
Wilfred nods to Corlith "Alright, lets do this! Who's helping! Everyone else move out of the way." Wilfred goes behind the statue and starts pushing, hoping someone will help. "Come on now, can't let the old man do it on his own!"
Reed checks out the last secret door, west of the statue, and sees that it is a dark corridor that ends with a ladder heading up.
With all the assistance of the group, the statue topples over and breaks into several pieces, showing that it was indeed hollow in the neck and head area. Lodged in this cavity is a +1 mace. The head of the mace sheds bright light in a 5-foot-radius and dim light for an additional 5 feet. The wielder of the mace can extinguish or ignite its light as an action. You realize that this light is what made the eyes of the statue glow.
Reya jumps back in surprise at Roo's outburst. She doesn't know what to make of it, and he was right, she didn't know any of them all that well, she just thought they all had the same goal in mind. She had always held herself and conducted herself older than her age, but moody teenager was written all over her face now. "Well, if that's how you feel, we can part ways after we find Thavius."
Looking to Corlith and Wilfred, "I'm sure Thavius is the victim in all this. He better have some answers, yes, but he is the High Overseer, there is no way he was part of the diabolical scheme."
With the statue felled, Wilfred will take a quick look at the mace. "Huh, that's what made the glow. Anyone want a bright Mace?"
Wilfred looks to Reya. "Do you trust Thavius, or do you trust his title? There are many people who have titles that do not live up to them. There is corruption everywhere, and those in power always seek more. You can't trust them unless they show you they can be trusted. Even then, I wouldn't trust them further than I could throw them. Didn't that scrawny kid, what's his name, say that Thavius gave him the puzzle box? Let's have Thavius open it, see what's inside. If he's really trustworthy, that shouldn't be a problem, right? And there was something about a shield and a devil? I don't know, I was dozing for part of that conversation. Either way. Don't go blindly trusting folks. That's how you get the people you love killed."
"It certainly didn't sound like he was here under duress, but then trust and honesty are not words I would associate with the Vanthampurs", Corlith says to Rena. When he notices Reed scoot off down he secret passage, he steps through the door just so he can keep an eye him.
Corlith leans back into the room with the now smashed statue, "Reed has found another way out. I suggest we keep moving. We can decide figure out what to do with the mace on the way".
He looks to the North and South exits.
"With two possible paths and multiple exits, there is the possibility Thavius will get away. Perhaps we should split up? Some go back the way we came and continue on and some go through there", he says finally pointing at the exits to the South.
Virro picks up the mace, fascinated, examining it, then turns and offers it to Roo. “You might be able to use this to smash their faces in. Do you want it?” When Corlith and Reed draw their attention to this new path forward, he says “Right, let’s keep exploring. I want to make sure we’ve cleared this place of all of their nasty little cultists, my second pouch is not quite full…”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Reed joins up with the others as Corlith finishes suggesting a plan.
"There's a very nice horse up there," Reed says. "We should take it when we leave. It might starve here once we're done with everyone."
He starts making his way to the door in the north leading to the northern hallway and takes a look outside to see if anyone has heard all the fighting or not.
If Slobberchops is still with them, he'll encourage him to follow with the offer of more treats just to keep tabs on the imp situation.
Reya considers Wilfred, "Well, how would he become High Overseer if he wasn't worthy of the title? That doesn't make any sense to me. And there has been no ill will towards him in Elturel, he is regarded highly." She looks at Wilfred a bit as he says that's how people you love get killed, but decides to stay away from that topic for the moment, still burnt from how Roo'Stor treated her. "Sure, let's have him open the puzzle box once we rescue him." she states stubbornly. She nods to Corlith at his assessment of the Vanthampurs.
"Split up?" Reya looks down at her bleeding body, then to Roo, Reed and Wilfred who are all at similar states of disarray. "I'm not sure if that's such a good idea."
She follows Reed to the North door of the room with the toppled statue and looks out with him, seeing the coast is clear, she steps out into the tunnel. Pointing to the west, "Shall we continue this way?"
Slobberchops appears at the doorway to the room with the boar carcasses hanging, first licking his lips, then sits and licks his front right paw. He looks up at Reed when he sees him and gives a little mew.
"That's easy." Roo says when Reya asks her question about how people come to power when they're not worthy. "Corruption. Subversion. Buck. All sorts of ways. I'm only seven years old and even I know that."
Roo accepts the mace when Virro hands it to him and tests its weight and balance in his hand.
"Thank you, Virro. I would be glad to put it to good use. Probably on Kreeg. When we break his knees and peck out his eyes. Still not sure breaking that statue was a good idea though."
Corlith just shakes his head as Reya steps out into the northern tunnel. If she was too injured to split up, why would she choose to lead.
"We still have our disguises, at least let's be cautious".
He takes one more look at the south door, and then to the secret door.
"Am I the only one who thinks a back door out with a good horse waiting could scupper our plans to question Thavius Kreeg?", he asks of no-one in particular, knowing that it was likely true.
"hey hey hey, let's leave off speculation and getting at reya about it, she hasn't been with us long and right now we have concerns about Thavius but no real evidence. So pack up your sh*t and let's get exploring" with that Archie sidles up to Reed and questions him on other passages that the group could explore, "should we double back? There's much more down here right? Doors we missed?"
Virro looks for any crack in the statue, any way to pull loose stone to see if there is anything inside. “What could be causing that glow…”

”A ladder up? Backdoor Into this place?”
Reed slips down the tunnel and climbs the ladder to see where it goes.

When Reed disappears up the ladder he points to him and whispers, "All clear?"
Reed responds to Corlith with “There’s something up here but not sure what it is. I’m going to just take a quick peek.”
Reed peeks through the trapdoor then thinks back to Corlith. “Looks like the stables and a farrier shoeing a horse.”
Reed lowers the trapdoor and comes back to join everyone.
Corlith leans back into the room with the now smashed statue, "Reed has found another way out. I suggest we keep moving. We can decide figure out what to do with the mace on the way".
