Noticing he awkward smile from Virion, Tobias gives the magi a smirk. Breathing a sigh of relief that Virion decides not to comment on his faith, the cleric eases back into his seat.
Tobias nearly chokes on his ale when he hears Crispy's plans for the evening. "That sure is one way to alleviate some stress." He raises his mug and gives her a wink. Catching sight of the treatment of the serving girl, he frowns and considers doing something about it, sizing up the drunk patrons.
Virion also awkwardly laughs at Crispy’s comment, not noticing the smirk Tobias was sending him, as he kept looking from Cherche, who was in open mouthed shock at the brazen girl’s comment, and the girl herself who was now stuffing her face with food.
“You should not make such vulgar comm” Her indignant tirade was interrupted by Virion who hastily put his hand on her armored shoulder
”Cherche, you should go get our sleeping quarters prepared for the evening. I plan on retiring sooner rather then later.” And with one more ice cold look at Crispy, as if she were a particularlly large insect inhabiting the table, the pink haired woman, clad shoulder to toe in heavy looking armor, somehow silently detached from the group, and was quickly lost in the crowed of the establishment.
“I’m terribly sorry you four for the incident earlier this evening. From everything I could gather about the incident, the space time continuum appears to be mostly stable. My leading hypothesis is that we were transported to an parralel time line to the one we were inhabiting earlier this evening. Aside from a few minor differences, nothing about your lives or the world we inhabit should have been affected. In layman’s terms, or ummh... to make a long story short, you should all be unconcerned with what happened aside from losing half an hour of memory. It should be covered under occupational hazard in your contracts, it’s a danger of the job!” Virion tries casually dismissing with an obviously fake laugh. The man couldn’t be a worse actor if he tried, and it’s obvious that he’s hoping none of you will make a big issue of him casually mentioning he accidentally transported you to what amounts to a different reality.
Crispy makes an obvious kissy kiss face to Cherche after her comment, and wiggles her tongue in a painfully obvious sexual manner while bouncing her eyebrows up and down rapidly as they lock eyes and Cherche walked away. Crispy was clearly not intimidated, but a bit disappointed she didn't return her sexual advance.
"Yeah, i'm pretty sure she's a robot." she says to Ary, as a matter of factually. She turns to Virion, swallowing her food. "Hey, Virion, number one: wow, you're a terrible actor. Number two: just how precise is that space time continuum stuff you can do? Can it take people to different, say, planets? Or something? I dunno, i'm not a wizard. I'm trying to find a way home. Of course, after the job."
"I don't like losing memories, and with that, I hope it doesn't happen again. We won't know if that machine decided to wipe up all of our memories by accident, if that happens who takes the blame? Nobody because the victims somehow forgot their names, their family, their friends, hells even their jobs. You understand me right? That machine needs to be fixed or dismissed".
While Ary's comments stood true and solid, Crispy took a moment to reflect on the fact that if she lost a few of her memories of her past, that wouldn't have been the worse thing to happen to her.
"Hmm..Yes, that seems very dangerous indeed. If the wrong memories were somehow erased, then I imagine I could forgot how I came by my abilities. Especially considering that I have only recently came by them."
Despite being scrutinized by his own charges, Virion looks somewhat relieved at the direction this line of questioning took, and responds ”Yes it wasn’t one of my better works, rest assured that any future works will not be as rushed, and you will all be fully informed of potential risks. Erasing memories is actually one of the least likely consequences, it must have somehow registered the positioning of all of our quarks whilst we were atuneing the string pairs of the brother and sister.” And with that he’s off mumbling to himself with words that all of you barely understand. The privacy screening slowly fades away and the ambient sounds of the bar once again reach your ears fully. It seems like the slave girl was taking a breather, because the bar keep harshly says something that doesn’t catch in any of your ears, which sends the lass squealing, scrambling to clear off the table that she was supposed to be attending too. None of the other patrons seem too concerned about it.
"That girl sure has patience" Says Ary while looking at the waitress attending other tables "I want to talk to her on private" she says, looking at Crispy.
Tobias shakes his head hearing the owner begin to berate the serving girl. "No one deserves to be disrespected like that due to their station in life," he replies to the two women as they possibly plan to intervene. He gives them a look letting them know that he will assist if needed.
"The thing is, if we intervene something bad could happen to her. We don't known anything about that girl or her boss, or her lifestyle or why she keeps working here. I mean obviously she's a slave. We can get in serious problems with the authority if we do something. (she tries to whisper) specially with our boss and her robo-*****, and even the adveturers guild. I don't know, I want to do something but sometimes the best thing one can do is... Nothing".
Crispy considers her point, and nods. "I'm ok with whatever you want to do. I'll back you up, watch your back, or help you talk if you want." She takes another gulp of her ale, and stifles a burp.
Luc is enjoying the back and forth conversation very much. 'This group has promise' he thinks to himself. He looks over to where a surly dwarf just slapped the barmaid on the rump, and casts Mage Hand, having the hand appear behind the dwarf he uses it to flick his ear then quickly dismisses the spell. "I've never been accused of overthinking anything, so if we're going to do this... lets get it done." Giving the group the most charming smile, he slowly rises from his seat.
"I think we should rest first, do our job and THEN we can think about doing something about her, maybe we can learn more before jumping into action without really knowing what's up with her. The last thing we want is to get imprisoned or something for doing good". Ary seems worried about the female slave but she keeps thinking about tomorrow's job.
Went back and reread all the info dump... Passed over that slavery exists here in Valm. Tobias, though a boy scout, is not one to try to change the laws in a foreign country.
"Eh... If she likely belongs to someone else, probably best to let it be. Disgusting practice, but it is within the law here, Luc. No point getting thrown in jail the night before our job over a serving girl."

"Sure. I'm curious about her, too." She nods back at Ary. "Want me to come with?"

"Ha!" She says, amused, "Robo-*****."
Monolith listens to the conversation intently, when there is a pause he sighs heavily.
I guess I got your back as well.

Crispy stuffs some more food in her mouth, and her eyebrow pops up. “Whereth he going..?” She asks Ary.
A man of action!
Monolith also rises.
but, what we are to do? Kill anyone who was rude to a slave? The bar would be very quite afterwards...
Luc looks to the ladies... “It’s your call... talk to the lads, or bust some heads?” Either way we’ve got you covered.

Hmm, I guess your're right.
He falls back into his chair and calls for another drink. To the group in general.
I don't know, maybe she likes it here.
