As Crannocjoins Irisand Gawain, the trio are able to quickly dispatch of the remaining stirges. With Hildrdownstains and Gallant just outside the tower door, all falls quiet once more...
Hildr has noticed that Crannoc is uncannily aware of his surroundings, as if the nature priest shared senses with the unseen primordial spirits that are said to predate even the gods.
"Come back down," she beckons to him, pointing to the lower stairs, "and listen at the door."
If Crannoc does so, and if he hears nothing, Hildr attempts to quietly open the door. If it is locked, she tries to bash it in.
Listening through the door, Crannocwould hear nothing to indicate that there's anything moving behind it. With his signal, Hildrcracks open the door, quietly opening it. On the other side of it is a chamber made of stone. Cracking wooden support beams hold up the crumbling ceiling of the chamber, the walls of which are lined with hammocks and bedrolls. To the left are three narrow halls that lead to even smaller chambers, each also filled with bedrolls. A hall to the right veers off at an angle that doesn't let you see where it ends, while ahead of you is a heavy stone door with an artful depiction of some religious scene carved into it.
