Rolas leaves his horse just in the treeline and follows in. He watches Bram attempt to converse in multiple strange languages to a tree, listens to Fianna mimicking birds, and shakes his head murmuring, "Goodness, a touch of sun and the heat's sent them barmy."
He just heads up the path to the building and tests the handles to see if the door's locked.
"Well I don't know about walking but when's the last time you had a pie that people were talking about and longing for decades later? Sounds like some kind of enchantment to me."
She looks over at the tree, "and fey are known for their enchantments."
"A ent or a dryad makes just as much sense as some secret recipe."
Bram makes shushing gestures to the tree "Please whisper as there are goblins nearby who are probably not friendly" says Bram. If the tree quiets down Bram asks "What do you know of the goblins in the area and have your heard of a very old pie recipe here"
“Yes, the goblins are like a swarm of flies, buzzing around here for years. They leaf me alone for the most part, so I tend to ignore them. I don’t know anything about any recipe though.” The tree-face seems to frown at you. “Not sure the goblins will appreciate you moving in, but the previous occupants didn’t much care for goblins invading their home, either.”

"Grammy? Why yes, she was a nice old lady. It was a shame what happened to her and her people, but really, I never paid much mind to her either. I know she used to like to converse with the dryads out back in the apple orchard. Maybe they could tell you more?"

Rolas continues to try to find out if the door's locked or not. (Investigation, if needed, 19)
He looks at Fianna when she comes over, looking flummoxed, "Are they talking to a tree? I don't suppose they could ask if it's got a recipe book stashed up in the boughs?"
"We've hardly the time to stop in and have tea and a chat with an orchard. Those goblins will be upon us any moment now," says Rolas, still having a go at the door.
She looks at Xorben a bit perplexed.
"Of course, look at all the leaves and apples on it."
(Let's try this again, and throw in a perception check to actually look and listen for the birds while we're at it.)

With a smile he replies, “Of course. I mean like a humanoid able to walk and talk.”

“Walk? Why would I want to walk? I have a lovely spot right here!”
The face of the tree comes to life as you speak to it.

Xorben shakes his head and whispers, "This might draw some attention folks."
He whispers, "Maybe have the tree whisper too."

Fianna, obviously bored with the proceedings, wanders over to Rolas.

"It says it doesn't know anything about the recipe. Want to go nose around a bit?"
Bram informs the others that their are dryads in the orchard in the apple orchard "Shall we break in or have a chat with the dryads?" asks Bram

"Alright lets break in, is anyone gifted with lockpicks?" asks Bram
The door are locked, or perhaps barricaded. You don't see a lock to pick.
