"Paper useless," the lead goblin sputters, and then seems to think he misspoke. "Sure, we have papers. Very valuable. You pay big. 10 gold is price, one for each of my goblins, and 6 for me!" Clearly, he can't count. But he seems amenable to a bargain.
If you want to complete the deal, show him the money. If you want to bargain, make a persuasion check with your spiel. Or intimidate if more relevant.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Xorben whispers, "I'll back your play....by leading out tough, but I'm not the chatty type. You may do better working the deal on your own. Let me know if you want me to try."
If Fianna wants Xorben to try here is his info below....
"Ha that paper isn't worth much. If it was here, it might be worth 10 silver. We'd need to see it first to make sure you had it in the first place."

"We only need one paper, but it needs to be the right one. We can pay in coin, but I don't have that much gold. I can pay you one gold plus silvers and coppers."
The chief goblin looks in the purse, and starts counting… badly. He waves you on, and you do find a back door of sorts - more like a large loading dock. The rest of the goblins look around, unsure of what is going on. But they let you in.
Meanwhile, what are the other two doing? Still keeping to the shadows?

Latimer Trumador Human cleric 1 : Lost Mines of Phandelver
Rolas has now been unsupervised for several minutes and there have been no sounds of conflict so all must be going well around the back of the building, so he's opted to snag an apple from the big talking tree and have a snack while he's on his break.
Rolas, being a learnèd gentleman, sees it as his duty to correct the apple tree about it's own fruit. "Well actually, an apple, being what it is, would be slightly more akin to a..."
He stops. He is quite suddenly not hungry any more. He wedges the half eaten apple back into the space between the trunk and a branch. Rolas goes back to standing by the door like he was told, haunted by the meaning of sentience.
"Oh good! As my father always says, 'Son, there's nothing in the world a good bribe won't get you'," he announces, very much eager to get away from the source of his moral crisis over precisely what he just had in his mouth. He strides off round to the loading doors at the back and gives the goblins a nod.
"Excellent work Fianna, Xorben. There was no trouble around the front, I made sure work of that."
(@DM any check needed for opening the rear doors, *are* there doors on the loadng bay? they locked, heavy...?)
"Why, I thought he was with you!" Rolas puts his hand on the hilt of his sword and glances about. He pays particularly close attention to the goblins just to be sure they aren't chewing on anything that looks fresh. "I haven't seen him since the two of you left."
A sliding wooden door opens into a room with bare stone floors and plain walls. An empty wagon stands abandoned in the room, gathering dust. You can see, within the bakery, packing and shipping pallets that stand ready to be loaded onto the wagon. The goblins watch you enter with only partial interest.
Xorben whispers a grunt of, "Uh UH."

"Here," Fianna says as she tosses her coin purse to the goblin leader.
(OOC: 1gold, 1silver, 6coppers)
Xorben says, "Ok...We'll head inside to check things out. Since you came from around back here there's probably a back door. Shall we Fianna?"

"Yes, let's"
Fianna backs away from the goblins, but is not confident enough yet that they will honor the deal to turn her back on them.

Yep Bram keeps to the shadows. It looks like Fianna can get in and out with the recipe
"Xorben, do you want to get the others? This might go better if we all search together."
Rolas has now been unsupervised for several minutes and there have been no sounds of conflict so all must be going well around the back of the building, so he's opted to snag an apple from the big talking tree and have a snack while he's on his break.
It is true, the front of the building remains quiet. Apparently all focus is on the more visible party members.
The tree, however, objects to the taking of an apple. "What makes you think this is ok? So you mind if I pull on one of your limbs?"
Despite the objection, though, you do manage to grab an apple without further incident.

Xorben goes around to Rolas and says, “We can get in from the back. We paid the goblins for access. Come help us look for the recipe.”

Fianna tries to shyly conceal a slight flush, she's never been complimented by a noble before, and Rolas seems particularly hard to impress.
Then there's a flash in her eyes and she begins to look around with worry.
"Does anyone know where Bram is?"
"Why, I thought he was with you!" Rolas puts his hand on the hilt of his sword and glances about. He pays particularly close attention to the goblins just to be sure they aren't chewing on anything that looks fresh. "I haven't seen him since the two of you left."

Seeing the goblins preoccupied Bram will slip into the building and join the others.
"Sorry for the delay was taking the stealthier approach. Now lets find that recipe" says Bram
He will then investigate the crates to see if they can be easily opened and if there is anything of interest
