Eldeth does her best to find footing in the webs without tripping anyone else and shouts at Thunk (common) "get out of there, it's not wirth it!" Spiderbait quickly takes a shortbow, aims and shoots at the mimic (to hit: 20, damage: 8) hitting it effortlessly while quipping back at Yuk Yuk (goblin) "no clients, no pay."

     Thunk draws his short sword and attempts the thunk the trunk that is stunk to him...

ShortSword Attack:  20 to hit for 8 damage...

(Assuming his other hand is stuck to it so not drawing second sword...)

Thunk's sword hits the mimic, making its tongue flail in pain. Sarith snaps out of his vacant gaze and takes his hand crossbow, aims it with both hands while balancing in the spiderwebs and shoots at the mimic (to hit: 14, damage: 5).

SEwing Thing in trouble, Drogen moves northwest along the strand. He then casts sacred flame:  dex save dc 13 or 4 damage.

He then casts Spiritual Weapon as a BA.  To hit: 8 damage: 6

Arokas cursed under his breath. “That fool, charging into every situation.” His eyes glow blue, and with some gestures he casts Chaos Bolt from where he is.
To hit: 14, Damage: 17 thunder damage

Celestial radiance descends upon the mimic as Drogen's spiritual weapon appears next to it. The radiant light damages the mimic, but the weapon is unable to hit it with all the movement around it.

(undercommon) "I'll break you free of the monster" roars Derendil as he moves along the spiderweb just behind Drogen. Jimjar moves out of the way, letting the furious prince go past him.

Arokas' bolt hits the mimic squarely, the flash briefly illuminates the cavern. Those of you looking up or down notice that there are multiple layers of spiderwebs, along with some cocoon clusters. The flash does not last long enough for any of you to see the botton of the pit below.

Turvy stays in the same spot, half frozen with fear.

Invisible to darkvision after the magical flash fades, other than the sentient mushroom strapped to his back, Tanis has the sudden sickening premonition of falling forever through the webs into the the maw of a giant spider demon, with none of his companions knowing where he is.

Steadying himself, he moves temporarily forward 10' northeast along the strand towards the mimic and wills his focus onto the enemy (casting Hunter's Mark) before firing off a bolt from his hand crossbow, and then retreating back 10' to where he was to give Derendil or others room to pass.

Hand crossbow to hit (at advantage because he is invisible to the mimic's darkvision):  20 (dirty)
Hand crossbow damage:  4 + 2 from Hunter's Mark = 6 piercing

(Tanis continues to concentrate on Hunter's Mark on the mimic).

Tanis' bolt easily finds the mimic. Yuk Yuk moves up and ends next to Tanis and Stool muttering as he draws a shortbow (common) "tell them to stop shouting, we don't want to draw attention here" he aims and fires at the monster (to hit: 1) but his shot goes way off in his effort not to hit Thunk.

The mimic closes his jaw upon Thunk's arm (to hit: 17, damage: 10 piercing + 1 acid) biting as hard as it can. Eldeth's face drains of all color seeing the deep abyss below, you can see her clutching the webs with arms and legs, doing her best not to fall. Spiderbait takes another shot at the monster (to hit: 16, damage: 3) hitting it again.

     Thunk roars in pain and goes into a rage as the stupid chest tries to bite of his arm and Thunk tries to smash it right back, smacking it with his sword.

Shortsword Attack 17 to hit for 6 damage...

Thunk's sword finds a gap in the mimic's jaw and slices it right off. The monster starts to lose shape and turns into an amorphous blob, sliding down from Thunk's arm into the deepness below. Sarith stashes his hand crossbow and starts to look around as four giant spiders rope down from the levels above you. You hear Yuk Yuk complaining (common) "too much yelling, we better move quickly!"

Drogen will move 15’ along the strand and cast Inflict Wounds on the spider there. To hit: 16 Damge: 20

Then will BA move his spiritual hammer North 5’ feet and swing at the spider there. To hit: 18 damage: 11

Drogen touches the nearest spider, almost causing it to lose its grip on the webs. You can tell that the next blow will most likely finish it. The dwarf's spiritual hammer hits the northmost spider.

Jimjar moves closer to Spiderbait, but not enough to interfere with the goblin's shooting. Stool starts to panic at the sight of the huge spider so close. Derendil keeps lunging forward and wodly slashes his claws at the closest spider (to hit: 12, 1) failing to hit it in his anger.

Arokas sharply turns and sees the descending spiders. Quickly, he casts Chaos Bolt at the spider closest to him. Suddenly, his hair stands up, and his eyes widen as he casts a second Fire Bolt at the same spider.

Chaos Bolt (using Quicken Spell Metamagic): 15 to hit, 12 lightning damage

Fire Bolt: 23 to hit, 10 fire damage

The spider closest to Arokas shrieks in pain after being hit with both spells, desperately clinging to life. Turvy crawls on the spiderweb strand, moving as far from the spider as she can.

Cursing himself for being slow to react despite being the one that was supposed to be "covering" Thunk as he approached the chest (or rather mimic), Tanis decides to try to finish off the most wounded spider (S4, the one Arokas blasted, figuring he is out of range of any blindsight that S4 has).

(Crossbow Expert feat means no disadvantage despite being in melee with S1, not bothering to switch Hunter's Mark, attacking using hand crossbow with both Action and Bonus action, again thanks to Crossbow Expert feat.)

As he spins back to the critically injured spider 40' to his southwest, he almost loses his balance on the web strand and his first shot goes wide, but his second one connects, aided by the fact that Tanis is out of the target's blindsight and thus invisible to darkvision for advantage.

Action:  Hand crossbow attack on S4 with advantage
To hit:  10 (rolled two 3s on the dice)

He tries to think calm thoughts at Stool so the frightened fungal sprout does not panic...  We got this...  I think...  as long as there aren't more spiders...

Tanis' bolts fly toward the giant spider, the first one goes too high, but the second finds the spider's head. The beast curls its legs and falls to the deeps below. Yuk Yuk starts to fall back, firing his shortbow at the spider near Tanis, Drogen, and Derendil (to hit: 14, damage: 6), hitting it just in the right spot to fell it. Eldeth inches to the point where many threads converge, still shivering from vertigo. Spiderbait follows his partner along the webs, shooting at the cosest living spider as he moves (to hit: 20, damage: 7)

     Thunk assumes he's not grappled any more now that the Mimic Chest is dead?

     Still in his rage, Thunk draws his second blade and rushes to the Giant Spider and swings about recklessly... (S3 probably as it seems closer)

Reckless Short Sword Attack: 21 to hit for 11 damage

Bonus Action Reckless SS Attack: 15 to hit for 8 damage...

Thunk expertly slashes at the nearest spider, slicing its legs and sending its body tumbling down into the chasm below. Sarith stares wide eyed at the spiders and mutters (undercommon) "may Lolth forgive them", making no attempt to fight the spiders.

The last spider clicks its pincers and closes down on Thunk, trying to bite the orc (to hit: 12) but failing miserably to do so.
