Thunk's attacks are more than enough to finish of the last grick. A fire bolt from Arokas hits the fallen corpse, igniting it and illuminating the small cave.
Arokas goes over to the skeletons, ignoring the gricks that were killed. He searches them for anything that could be of value or use. Investigation: 15+2=17
With the last enemy apparently dead and the others investigating the cavern in the firelight, Tanis retreats 25' north and 5' northeast to stand next to Stool, near where he heard the voices raised in angry conversation. Still invisible in the darkness.
(Undercommon) "It's Tanis. The attackers are dead and the rest are investigating the cavern? Is there a problem here? We should be on our way soon."
Thunk looks at the creatures and gives them a sniff. “They taste good?” He asks everyone and nobody at once as he slowly contemplated cutting some portions from them to cook over a fire later.
Thunk also idly looks around to see if there is a better weapon near the body. He’s not interested in the armor but Thunk always likes bigger weapons.
Arokas goes over to the skeletons, ignoring the gricks that were killed. He searches them for anything that could be of value or use.
Aided by the flames coming from the burning grick, Arokas notices that the skeleton that Thunk and Jimjar already looked at is wearing an armor completely free of rust. It must be a mithral scale mail.
The skeletons in the south east end of the cave are of humaniod origin, but the bones have been gnawed at and it would be hard to tell if they belonged to elves, human, dwarves or halflings. Mixed among them are 6 gems that reflect the light of the fire in various colors. Jimjar walks up to Arokas and remarks with a smile (undercommon) "see, gricks love shiny things!"

Turvy replies (undercommon) "I want that one" pointing at Buppido "to stay away from me! He acts all weird and I don't trust him!" Buppido pointedly turns his back on her with a sneer (undercommon) "you are so beneath me that you should feel honored to be allowed in my presence."
Stool releases a bout of rapport spores and communicates telepathically in a quivering tone "is Stool's friend here? Stool does not like loud noises and wants to get back home to the grove." Sarith does not react to anyone's words and keep staring at the wall absent-mindedly.

Thunk also idly looks around to see if there is a better weapon near the body. He’s not interested in the armor but Thunk always likes bigger weapons.
There are a couple broken spears near the skeletons, but nothing in a useful state. The burning grick that is illuminating the cave smells edible. If Thunk (or anyone else) is inclined to try if they will find that the taste and consistency is akin to that of a calamari. A tasty meat with a chewy texture.
“There’s some good armor right here if anyone wants it,” Arokas says in Common and Elvish while taking the mithral scale mail off of the corpse. “I have no use for this armor.”
I am here, Stool, we will leave soon, but Neverlight Grove is far from here, thinks Tanis subconsciously while not taking his eyes from the sneering derro.
Aloud (Undercommon): "Why is she, or anyone, below you Buppido? Was Topsy below you?" Tanis' voice comes from the dark, flat and emotionless.
His hand crossbow is still in his hand. Tanis had planned to re-enter the cavern to collect the bolts he had fired, but now he holds perfectly still, waiting.

Buppido starts answering (undercommon) "you are all beneath me..." while turning to face Tanis. Seeing the crossbow in the ranger's hand he tones down some of the disdain in his voice "but this is not the place to quarrel, the drow must not be allowed to capture me again."
Turvy struggles to control herself while shouting back (undercommon) "all you care about is yourself! What about all of us? What about my brother?" The derro replies (undercommon) "I cared not for you nor your brother. I'm only part of this group so I can get to a better place. Do not cross me."
Unable to see the ranger in the dark, Buppido continues "and hiding only marks you as a coward. I only stay in this group to reach a more civilized place." Tanis can tell that the derro truly believes that he is more important than anyone else, but other than plain racism it would be hard to tell his motivation.

Tanis sighs. "I am not hiding, Buppido. I am standing in front of you. I cannot help your not seeing me - a strange magic I am just beginning to understand. But you know what would mark you as a coward? Murdering Topsy and not admitting to it. I did not murder Topsy. Did you, Buppido?"
(Undercommon, though he then repeats it in dwarvish and elvish when he can).

The derro briefly squints in Tanis' general direction, shakes his head and answers (undercommon) "I'm not even going to waste my breath on accusations. As soon as we reach the Darklake I'm sticking to my plan and continuing to Gracklstugh. It's up to you to follow me or not."
Turvy struggles to keep calm (undercommon) "I will never follow you and I would ask everyone to just abandon you here if I didn't believe you capable of selling us to the drow." Buppido reacts in anger (undercommon) "enough of your babbling!" and throws a jagged stone at Turvy, hitting the deep gnome sqarely in the nose. She covers her face with her hands while letting out a yelp of pain that quickly turns into a scream of rage. She looks just a heartbeat away of jumping over Buppido to cause him all the pain she feels inside.
Meanwhile, back in the grick den, Jimjar starts pocketing the gems scattered among the skeletons.
A great darkness wells up in Tanis as he regards Buppido's callous cruelty. The unending caverns, the enveloping gloom which seems to hide him from sight. The drow captors. The monstrous gricks lying in wait. The ooze in Velkynvelve pool that had taken Bizm. Flesh for the Faceless Lord.
Still invisible in the darkness, Tanis raises his hand crossbow, sighting square on the derro's face. There is death in the ranger's quiet voice.
(Undercommon) "Last chance, Buppido. Say it plain as I have done. Did you kill Topsy?"
He readies an attack in case the derro says or does anything suspicious, or begins to run away.
Thunk had been waiting to see which side of the fight he was on. Thunk sees one pick up a rock and throw it at little gnome woman. Thunk knows which side he is on. Thunk draws his short swords and runs up to Buppido and attacks with a low growl.

(Doubting Thunk gets surprise round so I will wait his turn to attack...)
Arokas’ eyes widen as he sees Buppido hit Turvy with a rock. Without hesitation, he throws a Chaos Bolt at Buppido. (I’m assuming this happens out of combat because this would be a surprise attack)
Drogen returns the bow to Derendil after healing him "If no one wants the armor, I'll take it," he says as he exits the cave, "What's going on out here?" (Insight 9) he says returning to the passage where the others are.

Noticing their wounds, Drogen casts cure wounds on Derendil (7) and Thunk (10).
Thunk grunts in thanks of the healing. He doesn’t quite understand but gets that Drogan somehow made him feel better.
“These two fighting now?” Thunk asks upon seeing the tension between Tania and Bupido. “Whose side I on?”
Feeling some of his wounds heal, Derendil turns to Drogen, raises his closed fist to his chest and bows in gratitude.
Buppido starts answering (undercommon) "you are all beneath me..." while turning to face Tanis.
