Think is confused.  Think sees Drogan draw on floor.  Think thinks it is game Thunk knows.  Thunk leans in and draws an X to stop the Os but people complain and make Thunk stop. Think not know this game after all, Thunk thinks.

Tanis is saddened at hearing of Bizm's death.  Our lives are worth less than nothing here.  We have to get out, but we also have to survive the escape.

"My thought had been to dive into the pool of water below from the bridge past the nearest stalactite, through the gap in the spiderwebs, but now I am not so sure.  It spoke in your mind?  'Flesh for the Faceless Lord'?  Has anyone heard of some tentacled horror speaking telepathically like that?"

(Tanis translates from Drogen's dwarvish to undercommon and elvish for the others).

Sarith leans over Drogen's drawing after hearing Tanis translate. Watches Thunk attempt to play some game with it, but doesn't say anything to upset the orc. He points to the west passage and adds (elvish) "our best chance to get to the Darklake and Neverlight Grove is through that tunnel." Stool bounces happily at the mention of his home, but remains silent.

After resting as much as you can, given the uncomfortable prison and the nightmares messing with your minds, two drow come into the cell and take Topsy and Turvy out. The two deep gnomes follow their captors without complain and keeping their heads down. A few minutes later they are back with a pot of gruel and another full of drinking water. Ront eyes out the food, but waits for Thunk to get his share first before approaching.

Eldeth approaches the food, nodding to Derendil. She takes something to eat and talks to Tanis (dwarvish) "it's nice to have food without that brute messing it up more than the drow already have. Please tell your friends know that I am grateful."

OOC: slipping out of manacles requires a successful DC 20 Dexterity check, while breaking them requires a successful DC 20 Strength check. You can attempt this once per day, however you can still use the help action to aid another prisoner.

Tanis translates Eldeth's message to elvish and undercommon for the others, glad to see that Ront seems subdued (for now).

He gladly provides help to anyone attempting to escape their manacles, though he warns (in all three languages) that if they succeed, they should continue to appear as if the manacles are still binding them and bide their time.

He himself is unable to slip free, today at least.  DEX check:  12

Drogen whispers a prayer to Moradin before attempting to break his manacles. His prayer is answered today as his manacles snap under the strain of his muscles (Strength check 21). "I grow tired of this place. We need to come up with a serious plan to escape." Drogen remarks in undercommon as he grabs himself a bowl of food.

Arokas slowly gets out of his corner to get some food. He doesn’t look at anybody, trying to ignore them if anyone is looking at him. While he eats, he attempts to find a way to slip out of his chains, but no luck. (Dex check: 7)

     Thunk stretches and accidentally attempts to break his chains...

Strength Check: 20

     Thunk then goes about his day just as he did the day before.

Seeing that Drogen and Thunk were able to break their chains, Eldeth (21), Derendil (21) and Sarith (10) try to wiggle out or break theirs.

Derendil is the only one able to break his chains, (elvish) "it seems that the time for action is near. Are you with me to overpower the next patrol that comes here?"

Tanis grimaces at Derendil's suggestion.  "I am with you, but we need to know what to do if we succeed.  Ideally we wait to see if one of he guards has a keyring first so we can unlock all the manacles.  Once free, we cannot just jump into the spiderwebs.  I think we have to fight our way to the guard stalactite, perhaps gear up, then proceed at least to where there is a gap in the webs."

"My thought had been to dive through the gap into the pool below, but with the news of some tentacled monster in the water, I am unsure.  If we have to fight our way south past the entire garrison along the path, I think we lose.  We need a further ally or distraction.  Perhaps Jorlan."

He looks at Sarith briefly in case the captive drow has any further thoughts on the matter.

"At least we know that the western passage is our way out of the greater cavern if we make it that far."

“Whatever we’re going to do, we’re going to have to do it soon,” Arokas speaks quietly in elvish. “We won’t be able to hide that some of us are out of the chains. As to the creature in the water, we may have the numbers and strength to fight it, should we get to that point.”

Tanis nods at Arokas' observation.  "Aye, perhaps the broken manacles will be too obvious for the guards not to see.  Perhaps there will be no better opportunity.  So... out to the guard stalactite, gear up if there's anything there, and then past it on the next bridge to dive through the gap in the webs."

Quietly to Stool in Undercommon:  "Just before the guards approach next, friend myconoid, if you could release your telepathic spores so we can all communicate without having to speak or use a common language.  All the better if you can exclude the orc bully (Ront) and the derro (Buppido)."

Stool waddles near Tanis and moves in a way that seems to communicate agreement, but also confusion.

Some time passes and a couple of drow guards come in. You see Jorlan walking in first, a new face following him. As they come in Jorlan calls in a loud voice pointing at random prisoners without really looking at them (undercommon) "you four, time to dig a new latrine." Walking around he notices Drogen's broken manacles and quietly smirks. Keeping the same pace he whispers to Arokas as he goes (elvish) "I won't attack anyone if you leave me out of the fight."

     Thunk again gets up and moves into line.  Thunk not know if he was pointed at, Thunk wasn't watching, but Thunk find sitting in cell boring.  If anyone is paying attention, it is quite clear Thunk has broken out of his manacles as Thunk forgets to try to hide it.

“Alright, give us the opportunity and we’ll let you go,” Arokas says back to Jorlan quietly in Elvish as he walks by. Realizing Thunk isn’t hiding that he has broken out of his manacles, Arokas gets up and stands in front of him, block the guard’s view of him. “Act like your manacles are still together, or they’ll kill you,” Arokas whispers to Thunk in Dwarvish.

     Thunk's brows furl as he thinks on this.  "Thunk the biggest," Thunk says, as if arguing the point but then Thunk nods.  Thunk puts his hands together and holds them as is he was still bound by the chains.  

Drogen joins the others in line.

Tanis attempts to position and convince Stool to release the telepathic spores so as to include as many of the prisoners as possible (leaving out Ront and Buppido if he can), while including none of the guards (save Jorlan, who he does not particularly try to avoid).

Jorlan gives Arokas a slight nod and keeps walking around the cell. He finalizes his walk next to the other drow and tell him (undercommon) "I saw Balok going to the northern watchpost, he owes me three mithral since I covered for him last time. You can start out with the slaves and I'll catch up to you soon." Before the second guard has time to respond, Jorlan leaves the cell going north, away from the watchtower.

Stool cowers from the drow behind Tanis and waddles to the back of the cell. He releases a spore cloud as far from the door as possible, to keep the guards outside its range, just before Jorlan speaks to the other drow.

OOC: I'll assume that Tanis, Drogen, Thunk, and Arokas are close enough to Stool to be affected. For the rest of the prisoners, whoever rolls a 3 on a d3 will be considered in range.

As Arokas stands, he feels the effects of the spores settle around him. With his mental connection, he says, “Alright, once I’m outside of the door I can cast an illusion spell to make a sound to try and distract the remaining guard. Perhaps the sound of chains breaking at the other cell, or maybe drums in the deep. That might be everyone’s chance to get out. What do you think?”

Hearing in his head that there is a chance to break out, Jimjar tries to squeeze his hands out of his manacles (dex roll: 10), but fails to do so "damn these chains, if only I had a set of lockpicks I could get free." He smiles at Arokas and adds "if you can take down the guard, I can take his appearance once we are out of this cell, maybe we can fool the others."

Eldeth nods and takes place in line after Thunk "seems that this is the time to act then." Ront sneers at the dwarf's comment and tugs at his own chains (str roll: 19), breaking out of them "I'll prove that I'm still the strongest!" The orc sprints towards the lone drow near the gate.

Stool takes a step back and presses itself to the wall. Both Topsy and Turvy crouch down, trying to keep out of the way. Shuushar looks impassible, taking no action.
