The Tiger (27/37) takes some cold damage and bites back, Bite Attack 21, Damage 10
The tiger gets Rime good and she barely escapes his jaws. Luckily her icy armor caught half of the force but she is not going to survive many of those bites. The tiger receives another 5 damage from armor of agathys (which is now spent). Rime lunges forward again to pierce the tiger’s pelt.
Attack: 24 Damage: 9
She attacks with her Rapier and, if and only if she's been bitten again, she draws on her inner reserves to restore her resolve against the tiger (BA Second Wind).
Action: Attack: 9 Damage: 8 (if advantage due to the trigger of Silvery Barbs: 25, additional damage if the advantage roll results in a critical hit: 3.) Bonus Action (if she'd been bitten again): Second Wind: heal 5 HP
The Tiger (13/37) takes 5 damage from Armor of Agathys, then retaliates,
Congratulations, you gain 450 XP and +500 gp. If you would like to roleplay your conversation with the Wardens, you can use the information you've gathered to post a scene. The Wardens will want you to track down the missing Wizard +500 gp
You can level up your character or start fresh with a new Tier 2 character, level 2 with 1500 gp. I've posted new Encounters and updated the lead post on this thread.
OOC: I think I'll keep going with Garagas for now. Kind of want to see how far he can get before he dies. (Plus that'll give me more time to think of what the next character will be. The content sharing is opening up a lot of options I'll want to look at.)
For the information I've gathered, is there a place I should look for that?
And with exploring the tower, is that going through the other T1 encounters too still? Or choose one of the T2 encounters for the next one in the tower? Probably looking at the two polar bears. Gonna want to prep the room with the jelly ochre with some traps and things before proceeding up the stairs though.
I'm open to going backwards and exploring more T1 action, different monsters, what not. The beauty of D&D is that having a real live person as the DM, and not an AI or computer program, the game becomes limitless. Right now we are starting T2 but if you have something else in mind, want to go off script (just a little), let me know. I'm curious if you have an idea that we can try but using the limitations and confines of the Solos mini campaign.
Alrighty. Good to know for going forward. (And in reply to the earlier DM side note, been fun going with the challenges.)
Garagas reaches the top of the vines, potion of heroism in hand and traps dangling at his waist, and gazes into the interior. "Polar bears?" he mutters. Shaking his head at the discovery he says a quick prayer and readies for battle.
Garagas will enter on W7. (light grey is ground-level, right?) Initiative: 5
(self-note: Try using caltrops to slow them down, lay a hunting trap to hold one [use shove actions to push it there if need], and try to get a one on one. Also cast Bane on them.)

OOC: Saw the clarification that's it's one monster at a time. So is it a case of "Fight one bear, and then the second afterwards."?
yes
Garagas flinches as the polar bear charges. He downs the Potion of Heroism, grabs his Yklwa, and begins circling the beast, seeing if he can reposition himself and get a sense of its nature.
Action: Drink potion //+10 temp HP and Bless effects Movement: W7->W8->V9->U9->T8->T7->T6 //assuming polar bear is on V7, V8, U7, U8 and so staying in its melee range doesn't provoke opportunity attack. You seem to think that the polar bear is unable to use a ladder, for various reasons.
The Polar Bear will move close enough to multiattack

You seem to think that the polar bear is unable to use a ladder, for various reasons.
The Polar Bear will move close enough to multiattack
Bite Attack 8, Damage 13
Claw Attack 27, Damage 16
Please add 2d6 9 to the above 16 damage (25)
Well this seems like a good time to use Stone's Endurance.
Reaction: Reduce damage taken by 1d12 + CON 9 + 3 = 12 25 damage reduced to 13.
Garagas bites his cheek at the polar bear's attack. "You sure pack a punch." he mutters. Seeking put some distance between him and the bear in hopes of setting an obstacle he takes a risk and darts to the ladder and up the ramparts, sidling his yklwa to free up his hand.
Action: [action]dodge[/spell] Movement: 15ft to get to the magenta ladder and ascend it (6+5 >= 5 Athletics passed) and then the other 45ft to get to J2.
(Hoping this works out. Gambling on the opportunity attack missing to try laying a caltrop or something to take out its speed advantage.)
The Polar Bear (42/42) takes an attack of opportunity
Bite Attack 9, Damage 7
The Polar Bear will double move to get back into melee range at J2, no actions left this round.
Garagas breathes a sigh of relief as he escapes the polar bear only for it to come up the ramp. "Let's give it another go around." He snarls as he extricates himself more carefully and heads towards the green ladder to flourish down it and arrive at H3, palming a bag of caltrops in his hand.
Action: Disengage Movement: 30 ft to H3 Item Interaction: Palm caltrops
/* assuming the bear double-moves up and around to be on ~G4, G5, F4, F5 */
With the bear at his throat once more he looks back to the magenta ladder. "One more risk and then I finally take the fight to you." he says, dashing up away to T2.
Action: Dash Athletics x + 5 > 5 (ladder climbed) Movement: To T2
Condition Bonus Action: If the Polar Bear's opportunity attack hits and does 6+ damage he will cast Healing Word on himself. Hit Points Healed: 2+5 = 7 Self-Note: Remember to knock off spell slot if condition is met
(I'm thinking I might try a goblin for the next character. I feel like bonus-action disengage would come in handy to free up some actions to do things like lay caltrops and set traps.)
The Polar Bear (42/42) takes another attack of opportunity
Bite Attack 17, Damage 9
Alrighty. Ticked off the spell slot. (And with -9, +7 reduced from 16/19 to 14/19.)
Question: Which squares did the bear move to on its turn? Gonna be laying a caltrop and want to figure out where to situate myself.
Choose a square and I'll confirm.
Assuming I've got the ramp movement correct, looks like M1, M2, L1, L2 and U4, U5, V4, V5 are the options and U4, U5, V4, V5 is the closer one so I'm guessing that would probably be the one the bear would go for. (If it can't share between white spaces and yellow spaces for the moment it would be on T6, T7, U6, U7 then it would be on U5, U6, V5, V6 instead.)
V5 sounds right. I'm online now, for a few hours, so I'll respond until midnight. I'm eager to see how the caltrips work

Alrighty. (For my availability gonna be free for a while now too. Though doing some stuff.)
Question: When you say V5, is that meant to be the front? (Just double-checking.)
Garagas, caltrops in hand, heads down the ramparts. He places the caltrops on O2, quickly ripping a piece of fabric from clothes as a makeshift cover, and takes his stand on N2. "Come and get me!" he shouts, taking his Yklwa back in hand.
Action: Place caltrops on O2 Movement: T2 -> N2 Bonus Action (if allowed): Rip piece of fabric to cover caltrops as minor hiding for polar bear
If I'm right, that's close enough for the polar bear to get to Garagas in 40ft of movement points without being able to slow down through the caltrops.

The Polar Bear (42/42) makes a Dexterity save from the Caltop, DC 15 vs 7

Garagas lets out a grunt of joy. Finally the beast was slowed. He eyes the green ladder for a moment with his mind towards using the up and down of the ladders to outmaneuver the bear, but decides he first wants to take this opportunity to put a dent in the beast. Speaking an invocation he reaches out deliver a necrotic burst.
Action: Cast Inflict Wounds To-Hit: 5+4+2(Potion of Heroism bless effect): 11 Damage (not that it matters): 6 (Though it could be some useful attack dealing a lot of damage. Then I groaned at the results. Now I'm laughing at how poorly that worked out. Oh well. :P)
Let's add some movement then. (Only have so many spell slots and then a second bear to fight. So... back to cantrips!)
Seeing how poorly his attack went, Garagas seeks to head towards the ladder. Knowing the bear will follow he hesitates, but he makes his way to his goal.
Movement: N2 -> H2. Bonus Action: If the bear's attack of opportunity hits for 6+ damage, he'll use Healing Word

Polar Bear would be at 41/42 I think. (1 from the caltrop. But the 6 from Inflict Wounds was only 11 against a 12 AC, right? So it wouldn't have hit.)
Another nat 20. Ouch.
(mentioned I'd cast this if the AoO hit for 6+) Healing Word: 4+5 = 9, so Garagas is at 15

(Same character sheet btw-still variant human. I took the lucky feat, and I’ll use one luck point to reroll this. 13
Sorry to post so many times in a row. !)
I’m ready to go now. If it’s not too late I’ll cast armor if agathys before the encounter starts v
tiger goes last, precast is ok. your go
I’ll cast Eldritch Blast Attack: 8 Damage: 10
and then put my hexblade’s curse on it as a BA
Hexblade’s CurseXGtE, pg. 55
Once per short rest, as a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 ft. to curse it for 1 minute (or until the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated). Against the cursed target, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls, score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20, and you regain 4 HP if it dies.
and I draw my rapier.

If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
The Tiger (13/37) takes 5 damage from Armor of Agathys, then retaliates,
Bite Attack 22, Damage 10
Rime’s attack misses and she tries to refocus (5hp healed). If the Tiger hits again (crit or not) she will cast Silvery Barbs.

Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.

The Tiger (13/37) takes 5 damage from Armor of Agathys, then retaliates,
Bite Attack 22, Damage 10
Rime’s attack misses and she tries to refocus (5hp healed). If the Tiger hits again (crit or not) she will cast Silvery Barbs.
Bite Attack 18, Damage 10

Action: Place caltrops on O2
Movement: T2 -> N2
Bonus Action (if allowed): Rip piece of fabric to cover caltrops as minor hiding for polar bear
If I'm right, that's close enough for the polar bear to get to Garagas in 40ft of movement points without being able to slow down through the caltrops.

The Polar Bear (42/42) makes a Dexterity save from the Caltop, DC 15 vs 7
The Polar Bear (42/42) has to stop to remove a caltrop from it's paw, losing the remainder of it's action this turn. It's movement of 40 feet has been reduced to 30 feet unless healed.
The Scorpion (11/52), decides to put everything it has into landing a hit this turn,
Claw 1 Attack 7, Damage 10
Claw 2 Attack 9, Damage 6
Sting Attack 18, Damage 12
Barri dodges its claws takes the stinger to to the chest. “Argh… die already.” He’s gonna attack reckless and hope it drops before he does.
Attack:13
Damage: 7
The Scorpion (4/52), final full attack
Claw 1 Attack 21, Damage 7
Claw 2 Attack 23, Damage 4
Sting Attack 11, Damage 9
Garagas lets out a grunt of joy. Finally the beast was slowed. He eyes the green ladder for a moment with his mind towards using the up and down of the ladders to outmaneuver the bear, but decides he first wants to take this opportunity to put a dent in the beast. Speaking an invocation he reaches out deliver a necrotic burst.
Action: Cast Inflict Wounds
To-Hit: 5+4+2(Potion of Heroism bless effect): 11
Damage (not that it matters): 6
(Though it could be some useful attack dealing a lot of damage.

Movement: N2 -> H2.
Bonus Action: If the bear's attack of opportunity hits for 6+ damage, he'll use Healing Word

The Polar Bear (36/42) takes an AoO
Bite Attack 27, Damage 10
The scorpions claws crush the dwarf and drop him to the ground.....
Death Saves: Fails 3, 6 Passes: 10, 17, 19
Polar Bear would be at 41/42 I think. (1 from the caltrop. But the 6 from Inflict Wounds was only 11 against a 12 AC, right? So it wouldn't have hit.)
Another nat 20. Ouch.
(mentioned I'd cast this if the AoO hit for 6+)
Healing Word: 4+5 = 9, so Garagas is at 15

I’m ready to go now. If it’s not too late I’ll cast armor if agathys before the encounter starts v
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
tiger init 9
tiger goes last, precast is ok. your go
I missed the 11 to hit, you're right 41/42
I’ll cast Eldritch Blast Attack: 8 Damage: 10
and then put my hexblade’s curse on it as a BA
Once per short rest, as a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 ft. to curse it for 1 minute (or until the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated). Against the cursed target, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls, score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20, and you regain 4 HP if it dies.
and I draw my rapier.
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
Rime’s attack misses and she tries to refocus (5hp healed).
If the Tiger hits again (crit or not) she will cast Silvery Barbs.
