After they all passed through the room of swinging blades, Tryn makes sure to switch the mechanism on again as he was bid. “Quite a useful cantrip, this mage hand. Perhaps, I should consider picking it up some day,” he comments when he suddenly hears voices. Instinctively, he listens up and makes a quick movement with his hand from which some dust falls down (casting Comprehend Languages)
Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Tryn whispers over the rattling blades to the rest of the group, “Sounds like the gnomes we look for are awake at least. They seem to have an argument about how to help King Korboz with what they see as insanity. Perhaps, there will be an opportunity here.”

"Did you just understand what they were saying ...by magic ?"Goraseth whispered, a little bit impressed.
He steps in the room and cough a bit in order to announce his presence. "Masters gnomes. My apologies to disturb you. We are sent by Phandalin's townmaster to ask you if you have any weapons or trinkets that could help against a dragon attack ? But I can see we might have arrived in a dire moment. Is your King unwell and cannot receive us ?". Goraseth accompagny his introduction by a gentle bow as a show of respect.
When Tryncaryn released a spell he felt some tingling between his shoulder blades, and even though he ignored it as first it started to be more intense. Not painful but became hard to miss. While Goraseth introduced your team to gnomes a butterfly-like beautiful wings sprouted from Tryn's back (Tryncaryn have got now flying speed of 30 feet)
They both talk in tandem sentence by sentence and sometimes even filling in half of the sentence:
"As you heard, we do have a problem. Our both kings are locked in the throne room, it is doing of one of them who gone mad not couple of days ago. Now that is kind of problematic to have your kings not available. We really need our kings, i mean we are smart and brilliant but we have no time to dwell on some shape-changing killer nonsense. That is their job! The kings! Is there anything you people can do to aid us in this problem? We can not be helping others in the state we are in. But if you help us untangle that situation we are able to provide some magic items. In fact in the act of goodwill we can share with you our magic tome if you are interested, and as i can see from the state of that Halfling man back you just might be."
"Progo will certainly help you in your time of need, but Progo must ask, what is stopping you from busting down doors, or unlocking it yourselves? We certainly will help you but Progo feels there is more to this situation." Clearly suspicious of what they would be agreeing to, he still looks calm and relaxed as he leans casually against a wall.
Goraseth tries to follow the conversation but the new wings on Tryn are quite disturbing. He will have to talk to him about that but so far the halfling and the gnomes don't look alarmed. The dragonborn continues "Progo is right, what have you done so far ? If we help you getting rid of this shapeshifter, would that be a good start ? Any idea where t was last seen ?"
Tryn turns around to inspect what tickles his back but the sensation moved along and he almost looks like a dog chasing his tail. “What is this? A giant butterfly landed on my back and it won’t leave me alone!”
It takes him considerable time to realize that the wings flutter nervously as he gets increasingly agitated and still a bit longer that he notices that they move on his command, and that they are his own. “What happened to me? What is this place?” He asks while failing a few attempts at taking to the air. “What did you do to me?” Tryn demands to know from the gnomes.

"Ok, ok not all at once. First let us ease the mind of a halfling before he goes crazy like our king. The Gnomegarde we believe is placed on the Wild Magic source. The waterfall seems to be affected, and as a result so are the mushrooms on the little island. This Source is responsive to spells being cast from 1st level or higher and reacts with its own magic effect. As long as you are here you can get used to it to happen, but don't get used to the effect itself as it will perish after some time.
Now the important questions... No we did not tried to force ourselves in the Throne room and do whatever you would think is appropriate in such situation. They are our Kings we want to help them and not overthrow them. Korboz seems to be scared to death, he claims he saw that monster and managed to run away so he closed himself for safety. Now that you speak of it we think it may be good idea to get rid of the monster. The thing is we do not see ourselves doing it, as two of our own already went missing and probably is eaten by that monster that we can not even see. Now that you are here and want something from us, we see it as a sensible solution. So yes, please do find that monster and get rid of it. We think that may work for our King to gather his senses again."

" So by a monster you can't see, do you mean it's invisible to the eye, or that it's unknown what it looks like?" Progo ponders the information a bit. "Progo thinks it would wise to speak to king if he truly is an eye witness to the monster. Unless gnomes have other sort of leads to it. But Progo is guessing by the welcoming we each got, no good leads."
“Huh, wild magic? I’ve heard of that! Though, I didn’t know that it infests locations, too.” Tryn still looks at his new wings, flapping occasionally and feeling them out. “I think I start to get a hang of it. I’m almost sorry they’ll be gone soon.”
”Where was your king when he encountered the monster and where did your friends go when they searched for it?”

"We don't know where the attacks occurred, king Korboz sits closed within throne room, you can go west from here and at the end of the corridor there will be two-winged heavy doors those are the doors to the throne room. He might tell you more. As for other two attacks, they happend earlier and we didn't found any trace of victims. We started to think that it might be connected only after king Korboz accident. We are not really sure the monster exist, because only witness act crazy. But people have gone missing/died so we are taking precautions, and since you are already here and willing to help we are embracing the moment. If it is true and you can get rid of it, then great. If it is not the case, then maybe your investigation might uncover the truth that we could not see."
/Goraseth according to nature check, recalls one of the talks between some gladiators, that some monsters have not specific shape and can change their forms without casting spells/
"Well Progo votes that with no leads and no other witnesses, we attempt to make contact with the king and hope we can get some clues to finding our mysterious killer. Thank you for your confidence and willingness to allow us to help you the best we can." With a nod and slight bow, Progo starts down the hall to the west as indicated.
Tryn nods affirmative at Progo’s suggestion, “Let’s go and see what we can learn from the king.”Tryn follows Progo down the corridor and knocks strongly two times at the large door. “King Korboz, your majesty! We are here to help, to find the intruder that attacked you. May we speak a moment with you?”

"Yes yes yes yes, salvation at last. Thank you strangers to coming to an aid to Gnomegarde. I however can not help you much in helping us. It attacked me here in the throne room. It looked like an ordinary rug, though pretty nice looking rug. It even matched the decor in here. I realized that we had not such a rug, and the next second it jumped on me trying to strangle me, I luckily escaped. I think it might hooked itself on the door handle, which allowed me to untangle. Ever since I am locked safely in here. After all what would be Gnomegarde without a king. It certainly is somewhere in our caves, but I can not tell you what it looks like now."
"So it can transform itself into any object...." said Goraseth to himself. "Very well let's go through each room and check all items. That sounds simple to me. Let's go check this corridor North first". He waits to see what his new camarades decide
Speaking to the group: "Progo wonders, does anyone know anything about change-things? Progo thought the change thing people could only change into other people, not rugs. But Progo remember s tales of a creature that could become objects like rugs, but they bite with big teeth, not wrap as the king suggests though Progo always thought thise were scary adventurer storys to deter new treasure hunters. So that leaves one answer, magic! Any of you know of a magic to make a rug become an assassin? Or perhaps the mists that give wings make killer carpets too?"
Progo leans against the door and speaks louder. "Could you explain to Progo what was going on just before the killer carpet made its move against you?"
“Ok, Goroseth, let’s do that. Perhaps we can just hit the items a bit to wake up the … the… whatever we are looking for. Just in case I can cast Detect Magic perhaps it does use some sort of illusion. Perhaps it isn’t even an object, maybe it is just an invisible assassin, or thief.”
