"Thank you, and what was your name?" He grabs two tinderboxes.
"I'm Jack. Nice to meet you. You are?" He takes the two tinderboxes and puts them in a sturdy paper bag with the hatchet, along with a nice leather hatchet sheath as a bonus. "That'll be 6gp."
"Name's Chivaro." He digs his hand into a leather purse, slowly counting out coins until he's got the 6gp, and hands it to Jack.
"Nice going business with you, Chivaro. Are you staying in town until the storm passes?" He takes the money and puts it in the register, printing out a receipt, which he puts in the bag.

Peotyr gives her a kind smile. "No such thing as stupid questions. The rooms are just up those stairs. If you look at the key I gave her," He points to the key he gave to Cal, "There's a number and a letter on it. The number stands for the floor, and then you just look on the doors for the room letter." He grabs a piece of paper and writes something on it, then gives it to her. "Here's your room: 2E. Second floor, room E. It should be on your right."
She takes all that in, you can see the thought on her face. "I think I've got it."
She heads over to Cal, clearly looking to retrieve the key to the room.

The inn is a cozy place; your typical log cabin with the necessary furnishings that make it more of an inn than a single cabin. There's a gigantic fireplace, and some chairs and tables in groups around it in the main lounge area, and two counters on the opposite side of the room. One appears to be a bar, and the other is a reception desk. Two identical-looking satyrs run the desks, one at the bar and the other at reception. Cal (and probably Anna, too) seems to be heading up the stairs, key in hand.

The room is decorated in the stereotypical log-cabin fashion; the bedframe, two chairs, a nighttable and a dresser are all made of either log or natural pine finishes, and there is a striking amount of warm lumberjack flannel. A small moose plushie sits on the pillows on the queen-size bed. There's a single window, on the left size of the bed, giving you a quite picturesque view of the forests behind the building. On the dresser sits a black record player, and a box made of small logs on the ground next to the dresser has more records stacked in it. There's already a record on the player, needle hovering over the first track. There's three doors that connect to the room, one on either side of the bed. One looks like it leads to a bathroom, another is a closet, and the third is closed.

She props the window open, taking a moment to breathe in the fresh air. The she moves over to the dresser and lowers the needle onto the record. A thoughtful, almost melancholy expression crosses her face as she listens to the music.

The fresh air is frigid, but it invigorates Cal instantly when she breathes it in. She leaves the window open to let the cold air creep into the room. Then, she moves over to the record player.
Studying the record on the record player, the title of the record album seems to be:
LONG AGO AND FAR AWAY The Great Love Songs Of The 30's And 40's
Sentimental Journey - Doris Day Love Somebody - Doris Day and Buddy Clark It All Depends On You - Turner Layton and Clarence Johnstone You Are the Song - Phil Dewey, Paul Whiteman & His Concert Orchestra Grand Canyon Suite - Sunset - Paul Whiteman & His Concert Orchestra Heartaches - Al Bowly, Sid Phillips & His Melodians

By the time the second song is half done Cal has already lifted the needle from the record. Her expression shifts to one of hurt, clearly the music hits a little too close to home, and she scoffs a little. "Bloody romance. Where are the shanties, eh?" She turns to Anna *if she's still in the room*. "That's enough of that. I'm going to the bar. Feel free to join me, or not."
*i enjoyed listening to it very much, thank you :)*
*I am struggling against the temptation to say Anna didn't go into the room, just to spite you all, but I'll go along with it*
Anna follows Cal into the room, gawking at the size of the bed and all the lovely wooden furniture. Cal seems to take the room in her stride, Anna has no clue what to do with herself in a place like this. Slowly, as Cal puts the music on, she moves over and sits on the edge of the bed, trying it out, checking what its like. She gently picks up the moose plushie, placing it next to her as she marvels at where she's staying. Ignoring Cal's statement, she says "This is... I've never had one of these before."

"Well, they've got a few joint rooms, separated by doors, so if you're bunking with them, you're all set, but if you're still looking to get a completely separate room by yourself then I can set something up for you on the second floor?"
