"Well hello Tolman, good to meet you. Those oats and berries smell delicious", Normont replies in a fairly chipper mood.
When Maple appears and enquires about their plans, he looks to the others, unsure the best approach.
"Actually we need to talk you about that. Would it be possible to leave our cart and animals here for a little while?", he enquires, not giving details as to why just yet. He is not sure whether than plan on being honest or not, as these folk would then be able to tell anyone who asks after them where they went. On the other hand, he doesn't want them to get into trouble for not being helpful to whoever is sent after them.

Maple cocks her head to one side, ".......Sure. No problem."
She exchanges a quizzical look with Tolman but doesn't ask any further
Moring Maple and Tolman, "Hope you had a pleasant night sleep. The rooms were a thousand times better than sleeping on the cold ground, so very much appreciate it." Turning to Tolman, "The food smells delicious, thank you."
“Ummm…,” Dev picks up from Normont, speaking to Maple, “He can pay you.” Pointing to Magnus.
”To feed them and everything while we’re gone. It might be a week or two?”
Dev, though apprehensive about interactions with strangers, is used to bargaining with merchants. His parents sent him to buy food for the family when he was younger. Although he was beat up and the gains from such transactions stolen while heading home with bargain-priced bundles more than once, he had properly learned the value of a piece of silver, having had so very few pieces of silver with which to learn.
He will attempt to persuade Maple to happily accept a price lower than she would usually think fitting. But if he fails, he shrugs and looks to Magnus, whose silver, as proxy, will be the silver spent. In the end it’s his decision. (Persuade. 8+5=13)
Lokilia had slept well and awoke ready to get going. She happily enjoys some of the breakfast. However, she is feeling a bit disappointed about leaving the animals behind. Afterall, much of her time during their travels had been spent with them. She listens with interest as Maple says she'll watch them and then Dev negotiates a price.
Normont smiles as the normally shy Dev takes a step forward and starts to negotiate on price with Maple.
His own thoughts then turn back to what they do next. He decides to wait for Maple and Tolman to leave before discussing it. Or maybe convene a meeting with the others in the stable as they collect their things from the cart.
Faking a shocked look, Magnuis replies, "After your last drink Dev, you said you would cover the livestock's expense." then he laughs and reassures everyone, depending on the price, that yes he woudl cover the cost.
Magnus will then unwrap the letter he wrote last night to the cobalt soul and make a slight update mentioning the livestock and wagon at this establishment that the cobalt soul should retrieve or at least compensate the owner, Maple, if this group is unable to come back this way. He then refolds the letter and hands it to Maple, "Here is the letter I mentioned last night, if you could get it delivered to the soul office in Whitestone we would appreciate it."
Magnus pauses a second and then shrugs the thought away, as he basically just told these people they have been lying about going to whitestone as why is he asking for a letter be delivered to whitestone if they are going to whitestone themselves, sighing, he shrugs, oh well nothing to do about it now.

Dev, who is somewhat defenseless against teasing, looks in horror at Magnus. "I... did?," he stutters. When the sorcerer laughs, Dev's eyes shoot to the others for safety, but he quickly comes up to speed and a crooked smile comes almost unwillingly.
"Ha ha. Good one..."
The teenager pulls up his cowl and thanks Maple and Tolman quietly, then slips outside with his pack.
Lokilia watches the negotiation wrap up then leads the way to the cart with the others. "Lucky we found such kind people to watch the animals," she says as she makes sure she has all of her things.
When they are alone with the animals and cart, Normont turns to the others and whispers, "Do you think we should walk a little way back down the road, instead of straight into the woods? That way if someone asks after us, Maple and Tolman won't know for sure which way we really went".
He then looks at all the gear and wonders how he will manage to carry all of his stuff.
Dev nods assent, and quietly goes along with Normont’s plan. Now that they’re heading into the woods, the teenager pulls off his hood without giving too much thought to it. The reality of no longer needing —or feeling like he needs— to hide his horns from strangers is a breath of fresh air, and he stands up just a bit straighter, and a smile comes easier if one of the companions should say something witty or kind. His pointy red ears are perked as he cautiously settles into the sounds of the forest and of the crunching leaves from last winter under his feet.

Quinn will smile as his young friend comes into his own.

Maple and Tolman don't look overly suprised and she takes the letter and bundles it with a couple of other missives behind the bench near the door.
" We can look after the beasts, no trouble. Two silver a day? You've got a few."
" Good luck in your endeavours.", ventures Tolman.
"Thank you, for everything, your kindness will be repaid by forces of nature."

Tolman glances up with a slightly worried expression for a moment then goes back to his breakfast...
"I guess it is all settled then, that is good", Normont says happily.
He looks around at the others, "Perhaps we should collect our belongings from the cart and then head out?"

The companions prepared their gear and readied themselves to set out through the forest toward the mountains....
Quin is ready to move.
