As the time passes by Luthok seems to be glaring at his staff a lot. He shakes it every now and then and mutters a few words in a language the others can't quite seem to grasp. One day, as the cart rolls through the plains Luthok spots a murder of crows circling in the air about 50 feet from the main row. "Oy, stop for a sec. I wanna check sum'tn" Luthok climbs down from wherever he was sitting at the moment, whether it was on horseback or cart and starts limping his towards the ground beneath the crows. An animal carcass? Luthok taps his staff in the ground by the carcass and clears his throat, casting Speak with animals and shouts up towards the birds. "OY, black-feathers. Did ya see how this'un died?" The rest of the party only hears a horse cowing from the bottom of the dwarves throat.
Animal handling?: 5
Luthok heard about the cockatrice earlier and was afraid more dangerous predators might be prowling the land.

Dyoken leans over toward Bigs. "He's a strange one for sure." He says then calls out to Luthok. "You need any Help ovsr there?" but his shouts just seem to agitate the birds.
(Sorry for MIA. IRL/A new game suddenly came out that I had to play or I would simply DIE. I'm good now! Also, I'll accept Animal Handling check!)
It is the 15th of Drite, a Wednesday, as Luthok calls to the crows. They swoop down low and land on a lone tree near the petrified carcass. In this part of the world, there are rolling plains with patches of tall grass all around. This would be a great place to farm if proper steps for protection could be taken.
A singular crow seems interested in answering, "Echhh, died to the Whallopsor, died died died. Can't even peck it. Disgusting. Waste of flesh!" Any further questioning seems to lead to the crow only repeating the phrase, 'waste of flesh!' The crow doesn't seem particularly cooperative. Finally, they flew away when Dyoken called out to Luthok as if startled by his booming voice.
"I think the old dwarf is sort of cute!"Bigs grins and goes back to writing in what appears to be a journal.
Next up is Thursday the 16th of Drite! (But feel free to keep roleplaying or exploring if that's what you'd like to do!)

Merrick spends the days looking at the countryside, and speaking with the members of the caravan. In his own chaotic way, he asks rambling and tangential questions of everyone. He talks about people's past, their dreams, and their aspirations. It's a bit like putting together a circular jigsaw puzzle. There is no clear beginning and no clear end, but in his own way, Merrick has assembled a sort of History of the group (14)
Muireach nods slowly in his discussion with Merrick, “Wait, so the badger did what with the stork? How does that relate to my quest? Wait... I believe I understand. The badger represents my current state, while the stork represents my aspirations, which is why the badger builds the catapult! Yes, I understand now! Your analogies are strange but wise, Merrick!”

Dyoken takes each question as a sort of challenge. "Yeah, I've been in that situation. Wasn't easy. The trick is... No, I've seen one myself. Ten feet tall, lying down even!... You wouldn't believe the way they sound when they're mad..."
The next day...
Dyoken sits on the wagon steering the animals when he gets a chance to admire Bigs. She's spotted some critter off in the brush and is furiously sketching notes in her pad the way she does. DK stands to get a better look at her and whatever fuzzy critter... The boar begins to charge, and Bigs gasps. Dyoken shouts a tremendous thundering roar to frighten the creature off, before it can close the distance even as he leaps from the wagon to intercept it. (Intimidation: 10)

"Yes, exactly!" responds Merrick. He's so excited that he's hopping from one foot to other. "And the Satyr loved the Gorgonzola anyways, so there was no point after all!" Merrick ends his last sentence triumphantly, but then realizes that he's not really sure what he's talking about anymore.
Merrick gets an inspiration as he brings the group closer together! Yay!
The boar seems undeterred! It would appear Dyoken must wrastle it manually!!! (Wait, is there any other way to wrastle?)

Dyoken takes control of the beast twisting its head and throwing it off balance. Someone roars. Someone snorts. It's difficult to follow what's going on as they kick up a cloud of dust. Dyoken rolls with the beast gripped between his legs and let's out a shout as the two tumble to the ground...
Cut to the evening. A cleaned carcass turns slowly on a spit over the fire as the party sits and picks at their plates. Dyoken is spattered with mud and has twigs and leaves stuck in his hair. He grins at Bigs with an exaggerated wink.
"Wow, I've never seen anyone actually kill an animal with their bare hands before. Good work!" Bigs flashes DK a grin and a thumbs up. Shortly after, she begins to stuff her face in a most unladylike fashion.
"DK is very strong..." Vivi nods approvingly. She whispers, "Uuu, strongest person alive-!"
Vivi was definitely secretly cheering DK on.
