Everyone turns in to the night and its is soon morning. Well a hot humid morning where some of you may want to order some ice as there is no air conditioning though each room has a window.
After showering and preparing for the day, Edward heads downstairs for a bit of breakfast. Immediately afterwards, he heads to the front desk, praying that they speak English (or possibly French,) and can point him to where he can acquire either a proper archery target, or something else suitable: hay bale, even a few logs would work. (He plans to set up shop for a small performance in the park; nothing dangerous, just a display of marksmanship.)
The front desk clerk has a hard time understanding Edward's request, but after a bit of impromptu charades he directs you to a hunting shop about 30 minutes away to the north called Reyes Hunting Supplies. Its has everything you need from camping gear, guns, traps, bows, and archery target.
Seeing the prices of the gear, Edward began to rethink his plan. Then he suddenly stopped and turned around. There were others in the shop, speaking... in Spanish. Which he could only speak a few words of.
Sighing, the adventurer left the store to simply window shop around the city until the appointment, which he arrived at promptly at 2.
James would wake up early and then miserably fail to go to sleep again, eventually getting up, getting himself cleaned up, then going out to find a nice cafe to have his breakfast among the locals, ordering whatever they eat, sitting in the shadow and watching people walking by, again discreetly being wary of anyone taking any particular interest in him.

Eventually the british gentleman would get up and take a tourist's walk of the city, trying to make sure he is not followed, stopping to see any churches and other pieces of cultural interest, then stopping at some nice little place for a quiet lunch before making his way out to the university, asking for directions in passable spanish when needed, making sure he reaches the university with time to spare.
Lola wakes late after staying up until one or two am, using her skill with tools to make herself a set of lock-picks.
She sits up groggily and after throwing on her dressing gown, she immediately checks on a mixture that has been maturing overnight. She picks up the flask and takes a tiny sip. It seems like it would infuse a person with courage (Experimental Elixir of Boldness). She considers: maybe it has too much pure alcohol spirit in the mix?
Lola is a little concerned that the clothing she has brought with her may not suit this humid weather, which is bound to get more so, but does not currently have the ready cash to buy some. She decides that once she has attended the meeting at the university, she will bend her mind to how she can make some money.
She dresses for the day, pocketing the stoppered flask containing her new invention and a few other necessities, and heads downstairs to eat something before heading to the university.
A museum attendant easily tells you how to find the office of Professor Sanchez. Inside you see a man in his 30s with neatly oiled hair and a well groomed beard. Jesse Hughes has also arrived early.
Professor Sanchez looks a bit confused "I thought I only had an appointment with Mr. Hughes"
Jesse then says "My apologies as these are my new fellows in Larkin's expedition."
"Ah I see well I don't have enough chairs so I apologize as some of you will need to stand" says Professor Sanchez. There are 3 chairs 1 occupied by Jesse Hughes.
Once everyone has settled Professor Sanchez says "As you probably know I have tried to join the expedition, but is rebuffed each time by Larkin. I believe he is not seeking the pyramid for its historical value, but as a means to become even wealthier by looting the pyramid. It frustrates me to no end to know there is no laws preventing such a theft. Larkin is a Huaqueros"
Jesse translates the last word "A grave robber"
"Now the only thing I can do is mount an expedition and get to the pyramid first. I have been going through the archives and univnersity library when I came across an old document from the mid 16th century. Written by a conquistador named Gaspar Figueroa. The document is difficult to read so I had one of my brightest student Trinidad Rizo translate and summarize the document. She is almost done, but had to check on some artifacts in the storeroom" says Professor Sanchez
Edward chose to stand and let the others take the seats as everyone situated themselves. Listening to the professor, he could only think how the man reminded him of his father, always concerned with his archeological findings and preserving things. In truth, Ed himself didn't care about grave robbery, at least where it was legal. In his mind, things, particularly things that had use or value, were for the living, not to be buried and sealed away with the dead, forever, for no good reason beyond sentiment.
Still, he wasn't terribly concerned with the professor's motives, so he continued to listen quietly. The thought occurred to him that, there was a chance it was the academic who was trying to loot the place, rather than Larkin (even though that was probably far less likely,) but while he made note of the idea, he wasn't fazed either way--if the professor was willing to offer at least as much as Larkin for the adventurer's services, then he'd seriously consider the proposal.
"I must say, gentlemen," he began carefully after Sanchez finished. "I'm not that big a fan of dropping a client in favor of a competing client. And I presume that's what this meeting is about, yes? That said, then, if Larkin did indeed misrepresent his interests to us, I'd be willing to join your expedition instead... provided the payment is at least commensurate. And that you can give at least some bit of evidence, however scant, as to Larkin's intentions."
"Well the problem is I don't know where the pyramid could be as I believe only Larkin has a good idea where it is and he has not published his findings. So stay with Larkin and I may be able to follow. On a professor's income I won't be able to pay anyone and I doubt Larkin will either" says Professor Sanchez
James had spent his time early at the museum, studying the numerous artefacts with great interest, hoping to further prepare himself for the expedition.
Inestigation to learn something of significance: 4
Later at the meeting he politely stands, offering a chair for Lola to sit with a polite smile, then lighting a cigarette as he listens to Professor Sanchez. "You put a lot of trust in us professor, telling us about your suspicions about Larkin, I suppose we should extend you the same courtesy. I'm curious though, let us say we do as you suggest and go with Larkin's expedition, how are you hoping to track us, and more importantly what are your intentions once we reach the pyramid?" He asks calmly and politely, but his dark eyes intently studies the professor as he answers.
Insight: 8 If result lower than 14 it is treated as 14 due to Eye for deceit feature.
"I hope one of you can leave a trail by cutting arrows in the trees or some other fashion. I plan to preserve the pyramid and bring what I find to the museum where it stays in Peruvian hands for future generations" says Professor Sanchez.
He seems passionate and sincere to you eyes Mr. Devereaux.
Lola bids the others goodnight and retires.
Anyone walking past her room in the next few hours would smell the faint aroma of chemicals, and hear occasional clanging of metal and glass.

Well Ed can head to an archery range and try to bargain for some targets or persuade them to lend it to you.
(( It's not a problem, he's still got a couple of days so he'll probably execute a better plan later. Including hiring/finding an interpreter. ))
