Katerielle steps down off the porch and begins muttering an incantation. She thrusts her arm up and a vine sprouts from the ground. She then pulls her arm back and then whips it forward towards the ruffian leader, and the vine mimics her actions, striking true. The vine then attempts to pull the ruffian leader, but Leek in his bear form and Elila block the movement.
Regardless, on my turn Leek says "Don't make me angry. You won't like it when I'm angry. Too late." With a cry that seems to come from the depths of the Underworld, Leek drops on all fours. His skin seems to split in half from the top of his crown to the tip of his tailbone, as a large Brown Bear erupts from the skin shell. The bear leaps forward and attacks the leader.
Bite: 15
Damage: 7
Claw: 21
Damage: 14
Leek, in his bear form, chomps down on the head of the Ruffian Leader with a sickening crunch and begins to whip the corpse from side to side. While thrashing the corpse around, the bear also lashes out with a claw to the ruffian that stabbed him in the face, ripping out his throat.
Rindelk backpedals to add some distance between him and the ruffians, all the while drawing arcane runes in the air and muttering an incantation. However, as he watches Leek absolutely maul two of the ruffians, he's awestruck and the tiny fleck of flame that he launches misses its mark, leaving a scorch mark in the earth in the distance.

The ruffian facing Kitryn recovers from the blows and launches his own counterattack over the fence.
Attack: 22 Damage: 5
Attack: 22 Damage: 5
Kitryn completely misreads the ruffians intentions, attempts to parry ineffectually and takes two solid stabs to the torso. Kitryn is looking very hurt.
Kitryn, shocked by the blows she suffered, launches herself with utter abandon and stabs the ruffian twice herself, landing each blow. When Kitryn is done, the ruffian is lifeless and draped over the fencing, bleeding profusely. Kitryn then moves to the center of the courtyard, behind Elila.
OOC: Kitryn is very hurt. Everyone else is fine. You can heal whenever you feel it is necessary.
Coaching: The fight will likely be over soon. As a group, you can choose to take a short rest (1 hour-ish in game) and Kitryn can use her Hit Dice to recover Hit Points. That would save your spell slots, abilities and potions for actual risky combat.
Elila stops the momentum of her longsword after the upsweep to knock the blades away, and reverses the direction to smash the pommel of her sword in the ruffians face.
Katerielle releases some of her pent up Fey energies and they flow into Kitryn, who's wounds close up a bit. Then she takes a step forward and causes another vine to sprout and makes it lash out at the ruffian. The vine wraps over a shoulder, down the back and around the waist and pulls the ruffian, feet leaving ruts in the dirt of the courtyard as the ruffian resists, thorns digging deep as it does so.
The ruffian, seeing an actual real bear make mince meat of his allies, and his backup slumped over a fence bleeding out, decides he's not going to win a five versus one fight and decides to disengage and withdraw. The ruffian elects to pass through the gate instead of risk jumping the fence.
If so, attacking what seems to be the remaining ruffian:
Bite: 24 Damage: 6
Claw: 16 Damage : 11
OOC: for this to be possible, Leek has to move 20 of his 40 feet of movement.
Leek immediately begins to chase the fleeing ruffian and catches up to him just past the gate, bowling him over onto the ground. The bear's bite locks onto the back of the thigh and the man is hoisted in the air for a swipe of the claw which sends gore flying a good fifteen feet away.
OOC: Battle ends.
What do you want to do now?
There are 4 corpses
Leek's bear form lasts 1 hour. The whole fight lasted less than a minute. Leek can change back at any time if he wishes.
Halia still has a job for you, to clear the leader Glasstaff from Tresendor Manor and bring back documents to her.
There are other shops and people you could speak to in Phalandin.
I will return to the leader of the ruffians. I want to bleed him out. So depending on the injuries to his neck, l will slice his neck open with my claw, lift him up in my mouth and drape him onto the fence so he bleeds out. I will then revert back to my gnome and sit on the floor silently, watching as the rest of the blood slowly leeks out his corpse.

after taking a moment to observe the nasty gash across the leader's torso,
to Elila: "well dear, it does indeed seem that your blade speaks volumes. as we are clearly on the same path, should you care to join us, we can follow this to an end."
to Leek: "i am apt to leave you to you quirk of bloodletting, but please a favour, let me strip these bastards of their remaining armor, i would make use of what i can and would enjoy the sight of them splayed with there ***** out for all to witness.. an apt answer to the contempt they showed us and our new friend."
' thank you Kat for your mending but i fear these wounds will see me need a needle and tread at least before we continue this morn."
i attempt to salvage a workable set of studded leather. and search them for usable weapons, valuables, notes etc.
i will take a short rest and use a dice 7 and another 9

OOC:
Everyone gets 80 XP.
Make an investigation check to find non obvious things.
Your party has done a good number on these four ruffians and it takes bits and pieces from all four to make one workable set of studded leather armor. All of the ruffians had a single short sword each, and wore grimy red cloaks. The swords are nothing special, maybe a bit neglected compared to your weapons, but otherwise just as useful.
Resting to bind Kitryn's wounds takes an hour. During that time Toblen barges out of his Inn all in a huff and stops short when he sees the dead Redbrands. Before he can say anything, his son Pip walks up behind Toblen, who then ushers Pip back into the Inn. As Toblen is entering, he looks back, makes eye contact, smiles and nods. Then he disappears inside, closing the door behind him.
Near the end of the hour of rest, a fat pompous human man comes barging up to the Inn, puffing and sweating. He looks at the carnage and gore and goes very pale. He quickly walks over to a building and leans against it. "What have you done? The redbrands are just a mercenary guild, not much trouble really. They would have moved on. What have you done?"

Another Ruffian attempts to vault the fence...
Acrobatics: 17
and succeeds with a flourish, then runs next to Elila, launching two attacks.

Attack: 6 Damage: 7
As Elila pulls back her long sword from her attack, she arcs it such that it slaps both short swords aside, deflecting them.

I move to o11 and cast firebolt on the ruffian at o17

OOC: Issues with the forum, original rolls came back after I cleared and edited the post.

Katerielle will use a bonus action to trigger Balm of the Summer Court, to heal Kitryn. Then she'll move to O12 and cast Thorn Whip.
