This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
investigation: 22 the bloodloss is clearly affecting me... someone else should look
"what have WE done?! no more than defend ourselves against **** and murder! they set to ambush with drawn blades. tell me, just how much pillage, **** and murder do you permit and consider as 'not much trouble?!' "
"ever since we have been hired to take a simple wagon of goods here we have been set upon at each turn.. do not cast blame on our ability to be more than lambs to slaughter"
The fat man is gulping air, leaned up against the building. You expect him to toss his breakfast at any moment. Yet he fires back, "Phalandin has no militia or constabulary. The help we requested months ago never arrived. Being non-threats was our only choice. Now you've declared war. Look around at these villagers, how many will die? If you need to kill so much, you could have helped with a real problem, like the job of clearing the Orcs out of Wyvern Tor."
'ha! That is quite a judgment! You think us stone killers and warmongers because we 3 women an elf and a gnome stood up to armed threats of savagery! Do you speak to your wife so!'
To Kytrin: take what you need. Leave the blood. Have some berries too. You look rough.
As the fat man runs up, I will stare into his eyes. If I see nothing, I sit back down and watch the blood ooze from the leader. IF I DO SEE something in the fat man... gods help his soul...
Leek does not find what he is looking for in the eyes of the fat man. To Kitryn, the man says, "Take care of your mess. Dispose of the bodies and do not cause Phalandin any more trouble. If you're the types that resort to slaughter to resolve your troubles instead of subduing and preserving lives, then come to the Townmaster's Hall for paying work that will actually help. Otherwise, I do not wish to see you again." The man walks away.
Under his breath, Leek grumbles: "We didn't come to you. You came to us. Don't come to us, and you won't see us..." He then goes back to watching the blood until the last drop falls from the ashen corpse.
Eventually the news of your exploit travels from one end of this little village to the other and a crowd gathers. Many will walk up to a corpse and spit on it, or kick it. As your rest ends, you begin the less pleasing task of disposing of the bodies, but a farmer walks up and stops you. He says, "Leave them, we will take care of it. We'll burn them and they get no service or grave."
OOC: What is your next step(s)? Visit shops? Head to Tresendor Manor? Talk to individuals in town?
Everyone that searches finds nothing particular; the armor that has already been salvaged, the weapons and of course the grimy red cloaks. However, Elila finds one gold earring worth 20gp.
Rindelk casts Detect Magic (as a ritual). The spell doesn't pinpoint any magic nearby.
OOC: I was told by a friend who played this campaign to talk to EVERY one in the towns. We should probably go around and make inquiries.
OOC: That's true in general for any module. However, to keep things moving, we're heading to Tresendor Manor. Don't worry, you will be able to return after and speak to anyone.
As your party walks eastward towards the manor, you come to realize that the manor itself is not inhabited and is actually in quite the state of disrepair. However, it is not hard to notice plenty of fresh tracks heading to a stone staircase just off the empty ruin of a large kitchen. At the bottom of the stairs stands a closed door.
OOC: What do you do?
Coaching:
Perception: look, smell or otherwise intuit the presence of creatures or things that is worth noticing
Investigation: Examination of specific things to find out details, such as is the door locked, is it trapped, etc..
Nature: Is the state of disrepair of the manor natural or not?
Stealth: Try to not alert creatures of your approach
OOC: Everyone can choose to stealth. (Leeks stealth is noted).
However, when it comes to Perception/Investigation/Nature or other similar skill checks, one person in the group decides to roll on behalf of the group. One other person can choose to "help", and that gives the first person Advantage on the roll. For each task, you get one roll attempt and then have to proceed regardless of the results.
Those were pretty shitty rolls, so you're lucky I'm going to ignore those. Pick one task/detail and choose to roll or help. (If someone says they're going to help after your post, that person can roll using your skill modifier). Obviously, being active and posting first gets you priority. That's the nature of PBP, no way around it, just how it is.
