When Chiehry takes the moment to investigate the mural, she notices not only the squirrel but also a painted bird in one of the branches that seems to tilt its head to regard her for a moment. The roots of the tree also seem to move slowly over time. But this is all taken in quickly as her attention turns towards the Hall of Oracles. Myala rapidly snaps out of her fascination with the mural and quickly follows. "Oh yes! Let us have a look at this snarl."
And while Kadyr seems quite interested in the magically animated painting, he too follows eventually. "Hey, don't forget me!"
You pass a second information desk as you enter the larger part of the proper part of the library, the group passes study tables stretching both to their left and right. At the moment it seems less than a dozen students are seated at them. As you approach the circular hall, there is an open entrance flanked by tall columns. Rows up rows of bookshelves spread out on either side of the hall.
Inside, the room is lit only from a pulsing ball of magical energy, floating at the center of the space. The space is filled with numerous statues, but it is that snarl of energy that attracts attention. A stream of energy flows from the bottom of the ball, seeming to pool in an immense shallow bowl sitting in the middle of the floor. There are only a couple of pairs of people here at the moment, giving the place a sense of monumental silence.
Before they go, Arinchu gives Guardoka smile and a nod. "I hope to do the same with Prismari. In due time of course. Dance and the elements, I think it would be perfect form of expression."
The layering of arcane mana in Wagadu — what they call spirit energy — is a complex jumble of transparent force that defies explanation and must be intuited to be understood. Yes, mathematics touches its fringes like fingers on silk. But here. This. It is overwhelming. Strixhaven exists within the silken gown, wearing it lightly and feeling the fabric’s airy friction on its skin. And like steel armor. And like nakedness. Too many conflicting sensations to name.
Chierhy exchanges glances with both Myala and Kadyr, not smiling as much as sharing this awestruck moment. ‘Is this real?,’ her eyes ask.
Then turning, as if in a dream, back to the snarl, unaware of her own actions, her face rippling between beatitude and numb terror, Chierhy moves step by slow step toward the center.
As the energy washes over her, the words of her mentor echo in the distance of her mind. ‘Take care with rogue spirit energy. It exists between worlds, is fickle, obeys no laws and cannot be quantified or understood with numbers.’
She hears this again as a memory, but the wash of mana is intoxicating, overwhelming her reticence. The Wagaduan’s stomach lurches vertiginously with fear but also with joy, and she feels like a tree branch whipped back and forth in the furious grip of a typhoon.
Lost in this whitewater rapids of emotion and interest, Chierhy stands close to the snarl, eyes softly closed, head tilted back, as if inhaling the fragrance of an enchanted forest, relaxed and closed within her own world of timeless proximity to the unfathomable.

Aspen sips her drink, listening with respect asShin shares his history, and Guardok returns with words of understanding and wisdom. She couldn't help but match the goblin's crooked grin with a blush kissed version of her own when he'd note his master sounding a bit like she does, or she him.
There was nothing more that Aspen wanted to add, as it felt good to nod along, quietly acknowledging the words exchanged. She enjoys sitting with wisdom given and letting it have it's moment to resonate.
Arinchu's smile broadens when Aspencomments about the joy of dancing being the best reason to dance. "I agree!" she says enthusiastically. Her smile fades a bit as she seems to mull a question over in her head. Finally though she asks, "Do... you like to dance?"
Even if most of it is hidden, Arinchu's smile is reflected back at her from behind Aspen's mug. It was evident from the way the corner of her eyes crinkled, and of course by the way her dimple danced about her expression. "I enjoy dancing." She finally says after finishing her drink and placing it down. "I wouldn't say I'm very good at it." She chuckles softly, tail giving a soft flick. "I've been told that I have 'two left feet' and 'move to the beat of my own drum.'" A hum leaves her. "But that's never stopped me from having a good time." She grins. "Structured dance may not be my forte, but I'd say I can sway, with spirit like the fey!"
When it seems the cat-eared woman does not know of Rootha Squallheart she explains. "She was a Prismary student who combined dance and elemental magic. She's a Half-Orc too."
"Oh that sounds lovely." Aspen coos, trying to imagine what that could look like. "I'd love to hear more about Rootha and her style any time you're inspired." She says genuinely. It sounded like a unique connection to nature, and agreed that there's so many ways one could express themselves, different emotions, through the elements.
When the conversation turns to the Biblioplex, the Half-Orc agrees they should get moving. "We just have a bit of time to go there and get back to Cloudblower Hall. We should go." Having finished her tea, she slowly stands.
Aspen had popped up about the same time, however similar to a retriever and a sighted squirrel, she paused abruptly to retrieve some things from her little stash. Prrt. She pulls out a bundle of other, perhaps a little simpler than the one gifted to Arinchu, but still crafted with colour and care, bracelets.
"A little token of friendship, if I may." Aspen offers one with yellow flowers to Shin, pink to Naevyn and blue to Bretira. She then lays a couple on the table for Malvynand Guardok, deep purple and maroon coloured flowers respectively. "See you later!" And with a sway of her tail, she pivots to catch up to Arinchu and the others.
Looking to make sure Aspenis coming, she adds, "We could at least find these gardens in the library and can always go back later if we want to see more of them."
Aspen's smile widens just that touch more when her eyes catch Arinchu's looking for her, causing her to trot a little faster."As many exploration and adventure walks you're willing to take!" She chimes with a wide stride to slink by, getting to the door first to open it. "I do love to stop and admire the roses." She says, pausing to hold the door, looking at her with a cheeky smile.
Once everyone's through the door, Aspen throws up an arm for one last wave to those in the cafe before disappearing out onto the avenue. Doing her best not to get distracted, she sticks close to the group to not stray away. The best way she achieved this would be the occasional bump against another near her in an over correction of her direction to stay on track, or the hook of her tail against Arinchu's arm like a tether.
Spotting the double doors after they make their way across the bridge, Aspen rocks up on their tip toes with gentle anticipation. She glances over her shoulder as if to check to see if it was okay before picking up her pace to get to the doors. Whether it was push or pull, she tried the wrong way first before, perhaps, successfully throwing them open to have the Biblioplex invite them in.
"Until our trajectories intersect once more." Shin waves a temporary goodbye to the newly met experienced Strixhaven students, particularly Guardok, with whom the goblin hopes and feels that he's made a connection, despite his slight dread about what 7 in the morning tomorrow would entail.

And with a sway of her tail, she pivots to catch up to Arinchu and the others.
Speaking of connections, Shin is musing over the unfamiliar, warm 'awwww...' sensation he feels when he looks over to see two people hitting it off in such an affectionate way as Aspen and Arinchu seem to be. Quite a wholesome contrast from witnessing my fellow adventurers' inebriated hookups at a tavern, and gratifying to know there exists another way! The goblin is then further taken aback when Aspen includes him in her offer of flowers.
Shin inclines his misshapen green head in solemn gratitude to the fox-eared nature lover, wordless for once. Unsure, he tucks the stem behind one ear.
At the Biblioplex, he trots through the open door, looking around with great curiosity, aware of the limited time left to him and his cadre of fellow newbies.
"Yes, I think we've just established that I have been Ms. Wynterstarr's most fanatic fan here."The purple-skinned tiefling says with a quick grin as Guardok nudges him. "Although competition for the title has just arrived it seems." He adds, giving Arinchu a wink and a friendly smile.
As the others starts to leave, so does Malvyn. He sits back again though as the fox-eared girl presents him with the purple flower bracelet, finding his cheeks heating a bit at the kind gesture. He relized it was simply a sweet act of friendship, but he still felt moved by it. Aspen reminded him about Mei in that way, always caring for those around her, everyone around her, in a way that he could never manage to do. For a moment he wondered what Aurora would say if he came wearing the bracelet but quickly dismissed any thoughts of jealousy or anything like that. He was by no means experienced with girls but he had a hard time imagining anyone less inclined to jealousy than the raven-haired star. "Thanks, that was very kind of you Aspen."Is all he manages to say, giving the fox-eared girl and the others a small wave as the leave for their orientation.
"I was thinking I should perhaps try to talk to Larine about the offer from the professors." He says a bit discreetly to Guardok as the others have all left. "She might be with Mae though and it might be a bad idea to disturb them. As you know I'm not good at navigating social situations so I'd appreciate some advice." He adds with a weak smile.
