Culuril's Strixhaven Adventure

Upon her return to Cloudblower Hall, Chierhy briefly excuses herself to stop in her room and instruct Ifetayu, with Uchechi, to visit the Biblioplex and check out the texts the Archivists had pulled for her and Myala. Stopping before a mirror, she tidies up where a few tight curls have escaped her gele, and fans herself with a palm-styled fan Uchechi had unpacked, briskly, to cool down. Thus refreshed, she quickly joins the meeting just as Shuvadri is getting started and sits next to Myala if there is a vacant spot, or Dax, or wherever there is an open seat.

Uchechi and Ifetayu were headed for the levitation platform but perhaps Shuvedri waves them over and the pair stand in the doorway to the common room as the meeting commences, both with straight posture, Uchechi with an expression of patient curiosity, her hand on Ifetayu’s shoulder. The page girl’s eyes are wide with delight as she takes in the variety of persons in the room, and her moth-like antennae, though their movements are slight, seem to have a mind of their own, slowly leaning toward one resident then another. 

The pair's departure soon after Shavadri points them out and the meeting commences in earnest is almost unnoticed. Such is Uchechi's skill in unobtrusiveness, befitting her role as a handmaiden despite serving in one of Koumba Saleh's lesser Houses.

Shin, still lost in thought after experiencing the Snarl, does not return to his room, nor take a seat.  He remains standing with Pinky-toe on his shoulder.

After a sufficiently long pause, if no one has any further questions, the goblin turns to Shuvadri, voice quiet.  Polite, almost tentative.

"Sincere thanks, Shuvadri.  I would hypothesize that I am not the only one looking forward to Orientation tomorrow morning as well as the class, field trip and extracurricular pursuits next week.  My question for you is not necessarily one that is part of your purview as Resident Assistant.  Merely one that is fresh in my mind after just having caught our first sight of the Snarl in the Biblioplex, and you are the first non-neophyte I have thought to ask."

Shin pauses.  "Do you know, does Strixhaven offer courses or seminars related to the... ethics of magic?  A better solution would be for me to peruse a course catalog, yet I thought I would check if you happened to have gained this knowledge in your time here.  In a related question, may pre-enrollees audit classes, attending lectures without enrolling in the class?  Provided of course that there is sufficient capacity and they cause no disruption."

"An excellent question," Shuvadri replies to Shin. "Well, pair of questions. As for attending classes, we have reached the end of most of the lectures. So joining will not really be possible.  We now have a period of special projects and individual study that goes on until the year formally ends." 

"Now, Ethics of Magic would be quite a good class,"  she continues. "Silverquill College offers a few similar classes, though on narrower topics.  I think there is a third-year course on Ethics in Enchantment. And they have Verbal Components and the Law. Which is not quite the same topic. But if you look you may find others." 

Myala had been sitting on one of the large couches by herself when Chierhy arrives. She was easily able to sit beside her. Arinchu was already there and was actually walking around the lounge looking about until Shuvadri got started. Others arrive shortly after, some standing, some finding chairs. 

Shuvadri had indeed stopped Uchechi and Ifetayu as they were headed to the levitation platform, inviting them to join before she had started. She even encouraged them to come further into the lounge than just the entryway, but only really pushes it one time. As Ifetayu seems to look around at the others, Naevyn is really the only one that seems to notice her attention. He smiles broadly at her and gives a subtle little wave. If he catches her still watching he makes a few silly faces, trying to get her to laugh. 

After Shin's question, Bretira speaks up. "I wished to ask about the exit over there to the outside."  She points over towards the door. "Are we able to use that if we wish? Does Strixhaven have any rules about flying?"  

Shuvadri responds with a nod. "Flying is fine. If you look through the paperwork you received when you moved in, there are a few areas where flying is restricted. Mainly, the stadium. And yes, you can use the door from the lounge if you wish. Just make sure it closes behind you." 

Aspen didn't feel as though she needed to pit stop at her room before the meeting, at least not with only a few minutes before the meeting. Knowing her, she'd have gotten distracted by something and could have arrived late. It felt easy to decide that she could stop in her room to freshen up, maybe even change, before heading back out for the evening. As for right now, she padded along with the group heading to the lounge. 

One there, Aspen found herself unable to sit still. She too would have walked around a bit, purhaps being a bit nosey, literally sniffing around until things got started. As Shuvadri started, her ears twitched and tilted to listen with rapt attention. She'd give a warm smile and friendly wave to Uchechi and Infetayo when they were introduced. Drawing two seeds from her pocket, the fox-eared student would bloom a pair of flowers to later present to each of them, after Shivadri's orientation, and formally introduce herself if she hadn't had the opportunity to do so.

Aspen couldn't help but rock on the balls of her feet from time to time as she took in all of the information. Orientation, tomorrow, 10am in the Bibliotex. Ou maybe we could locate the other garden before if they woke up early enough, or after Shuvadri's activity if not... That is if we don't get to it tonight... Review map this weekend... Monday, Magical Physiologies, 1pm, mark classroom on map... Collecting spell companents!? Witherbloom campus?! Their tail flicks and sways. At the mention of extracurricular activity schedules located on the wall, her mismatched eyes snap in that direction, making note to check that out before she goes. At the call for questions, and Shin presenting great ones to consider, Aspen perked once again to listen for the responses. Not having quite considered flying yet, she'd make note of Bretira's questions related to it. And it was always good to know there's an exit to use!

Chewing her lip, Aspen had a couple questions pop up related to Shuvadri's responses and Shin's questions. A part of her thought that it could already be provided in their little packet, but just in case, she lifts her hand a bit, then proceeds to ask. "In addition to the schedule for the extra curricular activities, is there a schedule, list, or syllabus' for the special projects, or study opportunities, available during this period before the school year ends?" Her head tilts a bit. Then she found herself wondering about when the year officially starts. As first years, were their classes already determined, or did they have some electives? Maybe she should already know this... But was it too early to be asking about the new school year before this one even ends? "Not to get ahead of myself before this year is even done but..." She glances down at the packet provided and looks back up to Shuvadri. "Would this include information about our official first semester?" The classes, the schedule, the syllabus...?

Ifetayu raises her hand to chest level and her fingers make a little hello wiggle while Uchechi smiles and makes a formal two-kneed curtsy. They both thank Shuvadri for the introduction, Ifetayu with a wide smile to everyone, and Uchechi with a concise acknowledgement which is both sunny and businesslike before the pair take their leave and ride the levitation platform downwards. “Are there areas or buildings on campus which are restricted? Or are we free to explore? And, is there a curfew, or are we welcome to come and go at any hour?,” Chierhy asks, sitting 90% erect but at ease, ankles crossed. Those who saw her when she first arrived – Dax and Shuvadri – will notice that her posture is beginning to relax, especially following the departure of her retainers.

(Shin gives little Ifetayu, with whom he had discussed her exceptional vision, a lopsided grin and wink, ideally from where Chierhy can't see.)

Shin offers his strange goblin bow to Shuvadri and thanks her, still a bit lost in his thoughts after the Snarl.  Still listening to the others' questions, and ideally Shuvadri's answers, he wanders over to the wall that the Resident Assistant had indicated to peruse the Extracurricular schedule.
