"Oh! And before I forget, or miss the opportunity..." She reaches into her pocket with care, retrieving the last few bracelets she had woven. "If you'll accept these from me as a small token of friendship..." Inspired by the colours of their respective attire, Aspen would offer them each one-by-one, Chierhy, Myala, and Kadyr.
“Oh!, thank you!,” Chierhy chirps back at Aspen, surprised. “Haha, I had noticed others wearing these and was just on the point of asking where they came from. What a thoughtful gesture.” She takes the bracelet and examines it for a long moment, enjoys its fragrance, notices its coloration, and holds it up next to her embroidered blouse. In this position, the matching hue is obvious and Chierhy smiles her pleasure and places it on her wrist. “Who else has one?” She tries to gather everyone in a tight circle so that all can hold out their circleted wrists in the circle’s center like the spokes of a cartwheel.
“We should all wear these to the tavern tonight,” she suggests, offering Aspen another warm smile before returning to Ife and dividing the library books with Myala.

Her gaze shifts briefly between those staying and those going, warm and understanding in equal measure. “I’ll still be heading over later.” There’s a quiet pause as her dimple returns. “And if anyone changes their mind and would like to join us at the Tavern tonight, you’d be more than welcome.”
Shin grins his lopsided grin at Aspen. "My mind may indeed alter orientation regarding this evening as mortal minds often do. Though if such transpires, I suspect I shall pay for it at dawn in sweat." The fox-eared young lady's earlier gift still adorns the goblin's misshapen head, nestled behind one ear.
... Naevyn seems content with what he was already wearing. The Fairy though does say to Shindo, "I do still need to check in with my registration downstairs. I'd appreciate it if you are willing to accompany me Shin."
"Of course!" Shin trots enthusiastically to Naevyn's side. "Cooperatively shall we put the bureaucrats through their paces."
The goblin's off-hand waggles and a still image forms next to him (Minor Illusion). A caricature of a cadre of Strixhaven clerks furiously shuffling papers.
When Chierhy points out the Dragonchess Club, Myala tries to get a look, though takes care not to push in too much or intrude on anyone. Eventually she sees the time. "Thank you Chierhy," she says politely.
"I find language to be quite interesting and have always been curious about being able to decipher various scripts,"Bretira begins in response to Chierhy. "Unfortunately, I really only speak three languages. But my study of Runes has shown me ways to bend the Weave to reveal the underlying meaning of both written and spoken. Of course, that is more about language that is in use. Dead languages are a whole other thing entirely. But to be able to dive into them and try to unravel meaning when the speakers are no longer even around is a wonderous thing."
She pauses, her large eyes fixing on Chierhy for a moment. "That is to say, as you asked, no, I have not studied dead languages previously. But you may surmise I am quite excited to get started diving into the subject."
Chierhy's comment to Kadyr garners a quick grin from Myala, who doesn't add anything herself. Kadyr seems unfazed by her response. "Thank you for asking, but my legs are quite fine. But I thought it kinder not to press in upon your space just to get a glimpse of the schedule." He too delivers all this with a smile, as though suggesting he is not truly being serious about this. And he does seem appreciative of her looking at the time for him.
When Aspengives out the last of the bracelets she had made, both Myala and Kadyr add their thanks to that of Chierhy. "I saw how you had drawn out the blossoms earlier, this is wonderful,"Kadyr adds as he places his bracelet of white blossoms to his wrist. Myala's consists of blue flowers, matching the dress she wears. She slips it on her wrist as well.
Ifetayu had been closely watching as the bracelets were passed out, though without comment or even a hint of movement. Chierhy'squestion about Uchechi quickly brings her attention back. "Miss Uchechi has returned and awaits in your room. I was to let you know."
When Myala had been given the books she had requested, she gives Ifetayu a slight nod of her head. "Thank you very much for retrieving these for me. I greatly appreciate it." She takes a look at the one on top. "Ah, it shall take a bit of time to go through all the equations in this one. I wonder if I can get some of this completed before we head out tonight."
Arinchu had nodded to Aspenwhen she asked of dinner and seeing more gardens. "I would certainly not mind perhaps seeming what other gardens might be in the Commons," she says. "And I feel like we just ate, perhaps we can just get something to eat later and explore now?" She looks around at the other floormates. "Anyone else interested?"
Naevyn is pleased when Shinagrees to come with him. "I think we just have check back with the desk downstairs," he says. The Fairy laughs when the Goblin conjures up the image of frantic clerks. "Yes! Let's advance on the bearucrats!"
The pair head downstairs and Naevyn makes for the desk in the lobby area. As he asks about the status of his registration, there is a brief conversation between the young elf at the counter and someone in the back. It's just a few moments later that she has a response for him. "I am told that everything has been resolved. After a few frantic interdimensional conversations, it turns out that the University had simply not recognized the paperwork when it came in properly. It says... hmm... evidently the forms were in colors outside the standard for Strixhaven paperwork." The elf stifles a grin. "Anyhow, you do have your key? I'll just have to have you sign the registration papers." Even as she says this last bit, a gnome comes up and hands a packet of papers to her. "Ah yes, here you are."
The paper she slides forward is much the same as the ones everyone else signed earlier. Naevyn writes his name with a flourish, then looks at Shindo. "Success! The bureaucrats have been vanquished!" He then looks at the elf woman at the counter. "Not that you were any great foe in need of being fought into submission. I mean," he pauses, for a moment at a loss for words. "Well, you are quite lovely and have treated us lovely. Please take no offense."
She says, "Of course not. It is rather quaint you have a goblin servant with you." She leans in a bit, lowering her voice in a conspiratorial manner. "He's not dangerous at all is he?"
She says, "Of course not. It is rather quaint you have a goblin servant with you." She leans in a bit, lowering her voice in a conspiratorial manner. "He's not dangerous at all is he?"
Shin almost winces at the force of the silent guffaw coming through his telepathic link with Pinky-toe, who has stopped preening to observe with interest.
"Only to uncooperative bureaucrats."
He draws his rapier with a flourish, shadow fences with an imaginary foe theatrically for a moment, then sheathes his weapon with his strange goblin bow.
“I play, by the way,”Chierhy tells Myala. “Probably not as well as you, but I brought my dragon chess set with me, if Uchechi has unpacked it. The pieces are Wagaduan, of course. I was surprised to learn that the game wasn’t our own invention. Wasn’t I naive?,” she offers with a forgiving smile.
“Three languages?,”she responses to Bretira, excited. “I do too! I suppose that was my other interest. But the languages I speak, other than the common tongue, are connected to the arcana I’ve been studying with my mentor. Was studying. But, you see, I’ve never heard them used in everyday conversation. Like, I can describe the most interesting quantum expressions. But ‘How are you?,’ gosh, I’m not even sure! ‘Alla vath essencia o a manaluassa ne?,’”she tries in Celestial. “That’s closer to ‘Is excellence and glowing rapture your present soul feeling?,’ haha!”
Chierhy stops to give her head a good scratch just at the edge of her gele, then looks again, warmly at Ifetayu before turning back to Myala. “I really need to change out of this formal attire. Are you going to work some numbers? May I join you in a few minutes? Or...,”she asks easily, giving Myala the opportunity to demure if she'd rather be alone.

When Shin flourishes his rapier, the young elf woman flinches back, almost ready to jump back from the counter where she stands. Naevyn flutters his wings, looking at her with bewilderment. "Goblin servant? Why would you think Shindo is a goblin servant? He's a fellow Strixhaven student and my roommate!" he says indignantly.
She starts to answer awkwardly. "Oh... well, I didn't..." The Fairy just waves his hand. "I get it. Fae folk get this sort of reaction. Fortunate for me, the artistry of my wings tends to give me a pass with most. Sadly, not everyone gets that advantage." He leans in with a grin, "I will warn you that I can be just as fickle as any other fae, so you best watch out!"
He turns, looking at Shin. "We... should go." He moves quickly towards the exit back into the building. You can see he is moving his hands and saying something softly as though casting a spell. (Druidcraft)
"Hey! What is that smell?" the elf woman suddenly calls out. "Ewww!"Naevyn chuckles.
"Oh, you play?"Myala says to Chierhy. "You may be wrong about my skill level. You at least have your own set! I am really a novice. I mean, I know the rules, but definitely will have some learning to do as far as strategy goes." She matches the other's smile as she mentions the origins of the game. "I do not know specifically about dragonchess. But I have read that across many planes, similar things can be invented quite independently. Often when there is some interaction between the planes the two items become much more similar, and it can be hard to unravel precisely where things originated. So perhaps Wagadu did invent something that later merged into what was dragonchess elsewhere." She shrugs with a smile. "Who knows."
Turning the conversation with Bretira, she bobs her head in what seems like a nod. "I learned to speak Loxodon primarily because it is rather common where I live around Silkmeadow. But in my rune carving studies I learned quite a lot of the Giant language. But I've had little chance to actually speak the language. So, I understand your situation."
Then as Chierhy tells Myala about changing out of her more formal attire, she says, "I was going to change before we go to the tavern tonight as well. I know I'm not dressed quite as formally as you are, but this is my nicest attire. I honestly do not know what the expectations are here, but I'm sure I can find something. Anyhow, yes, I was going to go through one of the books afterward. It shouldn't take long. I can go to the Study Room and you could meet me there when you're ready? It shouldn't take me long to change."
“Oh!, thank you!,” Chierhy chirps back at Aspen, surprised. “Haha, I had noticed others wearing these and was just on the point of asking where they came from.
