Shin watches with fascination as Chierhy seems to retrieve the potion from the luminescence of the Snarl.
"Well that was both fascinating and productive. And bolder than the median Strixhaven new enrollee, I would hypothesize. Well done."
He tries in vain to recall anything related to the location of the Alumni Commission but comes up blank (History: 11)
Instead, he trots to the information desk area of the Biblioplex that he recalls from their previous visit yesterday, Pinky-toe flapping her wings for balance. (The same place Shin and others had spoken to the otherProfessor Flintwind yesterday (the wife, not the husband).
"Pardon me. Is there an Alumni Commission spatially located within the Biblioplex, and if so, could you direct us neophyte new students to it?"
(OOC - As a note, if you have no idea on a clue, you may make an Investigation(INT) check. Or if you have some thoughts you want to lay out then make a check to confirm, you could also make an Investigation(INT) check, but might get a bonus to it! I'm using the roll above to get an Investigation: 13 for Shin.)
Back at the snarl, Arinchu had watched Cheirhyreach into the snarl in silence. After a moment of hesitation, she steps forward. "That was rather brave of you," the Half-Orc says. "I can't imagine just doing that myself without having seen someone else do it first. But I am curious." She reaches her hand into the snarl as well. Her reaction is much the same, a brief moment where she seems unaware of what's happening, then a sudden withdrawl of her hand. She too finds that she is holding a potion of healing when her awareness comes back.
Meanwhile, Shinheads off to the front desk and asks about an Alumni Commission. It just so happens that Professor Flintwind (wife, not husband) is there again today. She looks a little confused. "Like an organization? No." It is then the Goblinrealizes that 'commission' could be a verb as well as noun. And if 'comission' is verb, then 'works' could be a noun, as in 'works of art'.
Chierhy barely takes in the words of her classmates. A potion of healing? She had thought, perhaps, that the energy flow would enter her body, or spirit, or psyche arcanum, suffusing her in some way with its power. But the result of her reaching within the snarl’s flow was nothing so relatively mundane. Instead, a spell — surely a spell, inscribed in the physical framework of this specific location — is triggered to produce from emptiness, or to steal away from some other place, a vial filled with a potion meant to revivify a person with a mouth and some means of unstopping the cork and feeding oneself the draught enclosed. Chierhy pictures a shelf lined with such vials, one of which is transported here each time someone reaches within the snarl. Forever. The shelf, in her imagination stretches out to infinity. Other possibilities occur to her too, and her mind races with arcane formulae, none coming close to the understated power — the permanency — of this wondrous magic.
She looks around at the others, speechless, until Urinchu, too, reaches into the snarl, recreating the same result. Chierhy finally regains her composure, though throughout this long moment, by all appearances she has remained poised and elegant.
“One down,” she says, smiling. Her face clouds for a moment as she notices the absence of Shin, the mental image of his offputting features unsettling her more than the snarl’s arcana had.
“Let’s find Shin? He must be into something.”
