Seeing the shadow beasts disappear and with no plan to work to, Salamir turns his attention to the tethered ghost lady. He leaves cover and runs over to her. As he goes he drops his crossbow onto the first pew and draws his scimitar. He then summons his elven magic and slashes down on the apparition with thunderous energy.
He then dances nimbly back away and stands waiting.
Free Action: Drop hand crossbow Interact with Environment: Draw scimitar Bonus Action: Dash - makes movement 60ft Movement: Up to 60 feet towards the banshee Action: Booming Blade attack on Banshee (with advantage for restrained and bless) - (9,14)+5+2=21, Damage: 5+3=8 [piercing], Sneak Attack (due to advantage): 1+5=6 [piercing]. Total Damage: 14 [piercing]. If the Banshee willingly moves it takes 1 [thunder] damage Movement: Rest of movement to back away towards allies - due to Fancy Footwork, no attack of opportunity Special: Bless Round 2/10
Salamir clutches at his head, as blood drips down from his nose.
Wisdom Save: 2 (Fail)
(OOC: @AmazingAmazon, as pointed out by @MissAbyss on private chat, would Salamir have had temp hit points from Twilight Sanctuary? If so he does not go unconscious - amended above as temp hit points granted)
((Will edit if Salamir is still downed this turn, but hoping what was mentioned in the OOC chat means he's up!))
Constance takes a deep, steadying breath of the frigid winds that blow into the temple, then coughs and waves it away as the sulfur assaults her senses. Her gratification over a hypothesis proved correct is short-lived as the bound Srinshee is attacked. They need information. And the once-necromancer would certainly have it. And so, Constance decides to take a... recklesscalculated risk. She's always been curious what it would feel like, in any case. No better time than the present to find out. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but being right brought him back. Or at least, that's how she thinks the saying goes.
Striding back along the aisle, needing to catch herself once on the end of a row of pews when her feet drag as though through mud, Constance approaches the scene at the altar. In passing, she says to their cleric, "Persephone, if this proves fruitless and she's unable or unwilling to give us information, Turn her out when the opportunity presents itself. Or--," she arches a brow and smiles, "let me finally get that rest I need." Finish us off, are the words left unsaid.
"Don't you dare! You have no idea if this will work or not! And if you think I will just sit here and let you be posse--mmmf!" The tome's protests are cut off as his wizard presses his covers together.
Working on the theory that a stable body might give the ghost something to tether her to this plane--might give her sense enough to converse with them--Constance beseeches her in Elvish, "[Upo Srinshee, we are here to help you. We are no allies of this false flock.]" She continues forward, paying no mind to the bulwark fighters. Gradually, finger by finger, she removed her glove, revealing a horrifically scarred hand beneath, which she reaches out in offering to the wailing apparition. "[I am a willing vessel, an anchor to this plane and to flesh. Speak with us. Let us help. Please.]"
((Round 3 Action: Dash (15ft) (forgot her movement's halved atm, :cri:) Movement: Full movement toward the altar (15ft). If we're not in initiative next round, she'll keep moving forward until she's within 5ft reach of the banshee.))
Prim sees the fighters drop. (I assume the timing makes it clear they dropped from the last Banshee scream, instead of Prim's attempt to remove charm) and says "Gimme a minute" to Constance Shrinsee. She casts "spare the dying" on both before dashing (if needed) to leave with the party. "I hope I don't regret that".
Constance feels a sensation like ice washing over her from the top of her head to the tips of each toe! Then all at once her mind is shrouded in inky darkness.
In Elvish:
"Who are you? Where am I" Upo's voice echoes in Constance's mind.
All the party sees is Constance levitate about 12 inches off the floor, her visage morphing from her own to another woman's face entirely!
Combat ended. Post at will.

Seeing the beasts disappear, Walt turns to focus his attention on the banshee. Turning around he is surprised to find Constance floating in the air.. He rubs his eyes hard with the back of his hand. "What in the name of the Dawnfather is going on here...." He asks inbetween heavy breaths.
OOC: So I re-read some of the posts and I am not entirely sure I understand what all happened. soemone might have to spell it out for a dumb guy like me. So did Walt's damage kill the beast or did the stinky inscense flowing in the open door do it? Also is our wizard possessed by the banshee currently? Did we somehow determine that the banshee was actually a good person inside?
Salamir looks up at the body of Constance with the face of who assumes to be Srinshee. He walks up to her, out of arms reach and ready to back away if she makes any move toward him.
"I guess you're not Connie any more?", he says in elvish. "The floating is a nice trick".
When Seph suggests they have to leave, he looks around at the walls of the church, saying in common, "That is if she can leave like this".
"I believe Connie has allowed herself to be possessed in a risky attempt to communicate with the long dead necromancer who built the tower that the stones were reclaimed from when building this church. At least that is who this Srinshee is everyone keeps mentioning. I think.", he then explains to Walt.
Walt was busy fighting, I would assume he missed a lot of Constance's intentions as well as her decisions on what she's doing now but he can see the banshee is possessing her. As for the beasts the smallest seemed defeated by the smoke the other larger one was weaken then Walt's attacks dispersed it.
"I...I truly don't know," Viga stands weapons at her sides staring aghast at what's happening!
Walt roll 2 insight checks for Constance and the Banshee. Does Walt speak Elvish?
Persephone can see the ghostly figure and her friend flickering in and out.
"I can not leave this place, " Upo and Constance speaks in unison in common. "I am bound to it, I will remain...they, " she gaps a long clawedfinger at the bulwark fighters Persephone stablized, "they must go," she adds furiously!

"Well, I called it. It can't leave", Salamir says looking at the bulwark fighters with a frown. He wanders over to one of them and takes a look at them, seeing if their face is exposed, and if not tries to remove the helmet.

The wizard swims in the darkness of her own mind, something about the enveloping inkiness both familiar and comforting. Which is likely not what most people would feel upon being possessed. But it's positively exhilarating. How many have experienced this first hand? How many have had the chance to have an ancient mage inhabiting their body and mind?
Persephone is not going to be happy with her. Alphinius will likely give her the cold shoulder for weeks. Perhaps Salamir will see it for the awesome opportunity it was.

But if you mean 'where' as in the darkness, I believe it's my mind. I'm sorry for whatever ill-fate befell you. But if you help us, perhaps we can help you and free your soul from this place. Please speak with my companions. Answer their questions.]"
((Wasn't sure if she'd be able to continue to converse with her or if the focus needs to be outward now. If not, Constance would just continue to explain to her what they know of the necromancer's story and the Sparknotes (lol) version of what is currently happening in Carrowkeel. She'd also mention the shadow creatures and the abductions they're trying to get to the bottom of, hoping she might know something about either. Though hopefully the group will ask those questions!))
(In Elvish) "Lady Srinshee, the entire TOWN wants these anti-paladins gone! In addition to f- messing up your tower, they've cut down the guardian tree and are making pets of beasts from the Shadowfell. Meanwhile, we living are weakened by exhaustion and too weak to fight back. We need help and time to retreat, recover and come back to drive them out"
She pauses for breath.
"Please, tell us if you can.
How can we close off the shadowfell gates?
Have you seen the spirits of missing villagers? Have they been slain by shadowbeasts, or are they living and imprisoned somewhere?
