The fish looks to Starker, waiting for a question.
The fish swishes its fins around to stir up the silt. It swims to the right then seems to sit still for a bit while the silt flows up around it. It starts swimming again, seeming to move back and forth in direction. Then it stops.
All of the silt settles. It goes about its business.
The tunnel proceeds upwards slightly for around 20 minutes while meandering right to left. At most, you can see about 60' ahead or behind you. The Driftglobe provides bright light in a 20' radius and dim light in a 40' radius from Chadwick. The tunnel is tubular with smooth walls. There is no debris or loose stone seen during your walk. After around 30 minutes the grade changes to downwards. This continues for another 30 minutes or so and you see ahead of you an empty space where the opposite wall is not illuminated. It seems there is s drop off ahead in the tunnel. The upper half of the tube you are in can be seen continuing ahead in the ceiling.

Hoid will make a fist, holding it up with his elbow at a right angle (the universal sign to stop). He will then kneel and wait for everyone else to follow suite. He will then point at Gneuman and himself and point forward with a flat, open hand (the universal motion to move forward). Hoid will then stealth forward to the edge of the abyss, assuming Gneuman will follow. Once there, he will use his recently improved dark vision to see what he can see.
Hoid returns to the group. “There is a roughly circular cavern about 80’ in diameter. The tunnel enters about 35’ above the cavern floor. The ceiling rises another 10-15’ in the center. There is a large pool of water to the right side. Another similar tunnel exits the chamber on the opposite side about 45’ up.”
Starker:”I suggest that Friend Kragen take a position of safety, as I fear we will need mass healing after we encounter the inevitable trap or ambush. I would be happy to send Cyrus ahead into the darkness. Did I mention that I gave him the ability to see in the dark? It takes several weeks, but please feel free to ask if you would like to start treatments.”
While Gnueman scouts ahead, Kragen signals to The Company to get close for a quick message.
quietly as to not create any echos or vibrations as Kragen has heard these creatures use unique senses to detect prey.
”I have an urgent message from Priestess Bessia of Shalecliff. She sends word that the Stonejaws have found what they were looking for, the deep wave mine. However, have been assailed by evil and request help. At the first opportunity, I intend to message Cleggor directly and gather more information. Something for us to consider after apprehending this Drow.”
