Kragen prepares himself with coffee and morning prayers.
"Lead on Brother, Tyr would see us purge the mines of Evil and so would I."
Gathers his pack reading for the trip back into the mines
Turning to Cleggor "What information do you have on the underground water source and docks area? Is this where the Brighthammers transported goods and materials out and into the Mine? Was this how the Drow were able to penetrate and create 2 fronts of assault?"
Cleggor responds to Kragen, "There is not much to know at this point. Snippets of information suggested an underground river or lake gave access to the Brighthammer dwarves for supplies to withstand the siege from the orcs. How the final days of that siege transpired no one alive knows."
Starker, did you have any notion of the nature of the magic circle at the docks? Perhaps used byStarker, did you have any idea about the nature of the magic circle at the docks? Was it perhaps used by whoever summoned the kyton?
The next morning over coffee, Hoid says to his comrades, “We have not yet explored all of the mines, but I also believe some explored areas are worth revisiting. Something pilfered the coins and key I tried to hide near the forges. Also, I am skeptical that the dragon was a pauper. Close scrutiny of the area it made the mistake of ambushing us is worthwhile.”
Gneuman: "I agree with Hoid. There seems to be a remarkable lack of discovery in these mines, thus far. I believe that there more here to be discovered."
Trolkarl considers Cleggor's question for a moment I know others of the company believe there are still riches to be found that may complicate the negotiations- all that aside for everyone's caution perhaps it best the dwarves remain in camp for general caution anyway. Kragen said his last prayer to Tyr was completely effective. Still, no reason to risk anything to rush these dwarves back in today.
Cleggor, you and your brother's bravery and claim to the mine can not be questioned, nor would I ever stand in your way to your claim. I do ask you to consider: the darkness that you described driving the dwarves away- we have faced creatures that feed on souls and corrupt the flesh. I can't promise you that more doesn't linger unseen. To enter now is to risk not only your lives but further endanger ours as well, with attention dividend in assuring danger is clear and protecting you. Allow us to finish exploration and perhaps Kragen to sanctify some foul areas ensuring safety and prosperity for all of us. When we return, we will speak of our fair shares reflecting the risks and efforts undertaken. Coins mean little if they lie beside our corpses.
Hoid to Cleggor, “We do not know whether the dangers have been eliminated. I have divine inspiration suggesting it will be safe, at least relatively. Join us at your own risk.”
Kragen follows up on Trolkarls plea. "Brothers, heed Trolkarl's guidance here. I know you are anxious to get in the mines and start to recover the operations. However, i am not certain that we have purged all of Evil that permeated this place. We take the risk so you do not, that is our bargain."
"We are close, i can feel the darkness lifting from this place. Let us assure it is safe." Looks to the Dwarves for conformation.
Cleggor hears the wisdom in Trolkarl and Kragen’s words. They will wait for your return from the mountain. You can see that they are anxious to get inside. It has been a dream of many years that they are on the cusp of fulfilling.
We have not explored to the right of the entrance. Token moved close to the unexplored area. If nothing of interest occurs, my thought is to explore this southeastern quadrant and then move back to the forge area to look for the bag of coins and key. Hopefully this high level direction can speed things up if there is nothing significant remaining in this area.
You work your way through the ruins. The remains of shattered buildings lie strewn about. The SE quadrant is cleared and you head towards the furnaces/forge area. Nothing seems amiss. There is the occasional flapping of wings in the distance heard and the crashing wave sound heard intermittently.
Hoid nods to Kragen and Kragen begins an incantation. You see him pull a small twig, which is forked from his belt pouch. You assume he forged from the campsite last night. An aura glows around Kragen (focusing on the key Hoid had shown the group his mind) and then fades.

Describe or name an object that is familiar to you. You sense the direction to the object’s location if that object is within 1,000 feet of you. If the object is in motion, you know the direction of its movement.
The spell can locate a specific object known to you if you have seen it up close—within 30 feet—at least once. Alternatively, the spell can locate the nearest object of a particular kind, such as a certain kind of apparel, jewelry, furniture, tool, or weapon.
This spell can’t locate an object if any thickness of lead blocks a direct path between you and the object.

The elevator shaft operates as expected and you all arrive on the top level where you faced the dragon just a day ago. All is quiet here. The occasional flapping of wings is not heard here. The intermittent wave crashing echoes up here as well, just more quietly. The item Kragen seeks is to the SE.

We may want to reevaluate that site as well.

Saying our goodbyes to the Stonejaws, the intrepid group heads off to continue to purge the mine of Evil.
Chadwick spends some time with Freya in the morning feeding her treats and giving her a good brush down before the company heads out.
The trip back to the mine is becoming a familiar one now. Cleggor asks if you want them to join you in the mine.

Of note, you have not heard the wail again.
