"What makes you think we did anything with the minors? We simply found an empty cave and started living in it. Some minors did at a later time come and try and forcefully remove us so we protected ourselves. They probably went home or out in the woods somewhere after that."
Quin puts on an air of indifference as if he hadn't just been caught and walk leisurely back to the others. "Okay then since you claim to be displaced yourself, Take us to these orcs so that you can take back your home. This is your best option since you have no claim here."
"Counter proposal. We will tell you where our home was, you clear out the orcs and then we leave. Otherwise as soon as we leave, you will barricade the mine up and leave us homeless."
"A moment to confer with my compatriots." says Quin as he gathers the other two adventurers into a small huddle.
He shispers,"Well what do we want to do? We're outnumbered here but could be just as outnumbered with the orcs. We could say we're going and then sneak back and remove the rats one by one. Any ideas?"
Kosef thinks to himself, “Well look, we’ll need to get a feel for these Orcs’ demeanour. But we do know they may be a powerful ally against the dragon. We also have reason to believe the wererats are hiding something. But that doesn’t mean we should necessarily kill them all.” He looks at Donjon, “I think we should see what he wants to do first. But I think we need more information on the orcs and on the wererats. We may find all that at the wererats old lair. That should be out next stop.”
"I suppose I could get behind that..." says Quin. He casts a slightly down trodden side eye as if he were kind of looking forward to dispatching a few of the interloper. He settles his gaze on Jayson to see which h way he might lean.
“I’d like nothing better than to wreck these rats. I think they’re dishonest, deceitful, and not to be trusted. If they harmed these miners, we owe them payback and a healthy dose of justice. The problem with being a musician is that you can certainly start a fight, but oftentimes can’t finish it. We don’t know how many of the rodent-folks are here. But certainly fewer than tge orcs, or else the orcs wouldn’t have run them out of their previous residence.”
He looks at Quin.
”Our job is the overseer, the miners, and this facility. If we say we’re going, do you think we can sneak around and be lethal rnough to take these rats out on the sly?”
"We leave. If they only send a couple escorts, we take them then ambush any that come to check on them. If more escort us we feign going to the old lair. Then regroup and reasses. The detect magic should alert us to any mystical trickery. "
Quin breaks the huddle and addresses the rat king.
"We have decided to assess the situation with the orcs. Send with us a guide and we will see what can be done."
(don't forget, you do have Gor with you, currently under my control. Just he isn't getting involved in the discussions. He doesn't mind going to the orcs or sledging here, both are just as good as they are killing And Don-Jon can fight too) Kosef. There is a faint appearance of magic coming from a pile of junk in the corner, but barely. Looks like something might be buried. Otherwise no magic is showing.
The rat queen will respond "I wouldn't have thought a guide is necessary but very well."and she gestures to one of the others in the room to lead you to the old shrine. The two who escorted you from the entrance also follow you out, heading back to the entrance.
Assuming you will be attacking them (either all three at the entrance, or just the one after leaving), take your first two turns. (one surprise round, and then the party got a higher initiative so are first on the next round too)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As they reach the cave entrance Quin says in a sharp tone, "NOW! Keep one alive." As he cues the ambush he spins and confronts the guard on the left. He swats at the guard with his rapier.
Definitely non-lethal. It pierces the skin, but as the rapier comes out, there is no wound. It healed instantly. Jon-Don will give his advice "I have fought werewolves before, and these seem no different. You need magic or silver to truly hurt 'em"

After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Quin spins around, dagger in one hand, polished stone in the other.(bonus action). Ready to face his his pursuers.

They back off, trying to look innocent, but not doing an amazing job at it.

Jayson looks at Quin, shrugs, then turns to rat damsel.
”Deal. But we will need a layout of your former domicile so that we don’t get turned around hunting for orcs.”
They make a very quick sketch with an elongated nail.
(The circle to the side is not a well. It is actually just representing the northeast tower which they let you know is the only one still intact)
"This is our old home. Five miles south of Conyberry."

I will cast a Detect Magic just in case there’s anything around here that will give us a tip as to what’s going on.
