Karra looks to the others discussing their professions. "My tool of choice not a weapon." He says. "Chisel and hammer more my speciality. Have a bow for hunting and sword for defence, but hands of a crafter important most of all."
At the amazing magical display, Gasp makes a gasp by mimicking the one he heard from Crispy just the other day! He'll also pat Bennett's shoulder as a display of appreciation for the show. Then there was Karra with his artisanal capabilities. Gasp was in some pretty impressive company, he decided. Sadly, he didn't have anything horribly impressive to show off in return.
“Thats a neat trick.“ Crispy observes while Bennett explains. “But why hide it? Personally I never understood magic. Are you saying people would not understand the source of your power? Or the use of it?”
I think i understand it a little Ashley speaks up after witnessing the display of power. You've made a deal with something more powerful than yourself. She raises her hand with the silver writing tattoo. I have as well. I guess it was my way of finding my own path after i left my service.
Admiring the information from Bennett and Ashley, Crispy secretly admired them. Crispy had lost her way a couple years back, and felt poisoned about it. She wanted to talk more about it, but what could be done? What could she tell them to try and relate? That she was considering bargaining with demons to try and rid the nightmares she was having since the murder of her abusive father? And have people fear her? Judge her? She needed friends.
Gasp looks at Crispy. Not being able to speak to people, he and his kind learned to read faces and emotions. He watches her and sees this look, perhaps just a glimmer of it, of admiration. Could he tell where it was coming from? Why she might be so...easily attached to them? Could he feel that there was something there, inside of her, this human who was so jovial...some dark story?
The blacksmith doesn't pay much attention to the show of magic, perhaps thinking it just some adventurer's magic. He nods to the gnome as he notes his worked hands, "Need a set?", he asks as he raises his hammer.
Karra watches the others make their trades, taking notes of their character and their preferences. He keeps quiet during this, being more of an onlooker who wanders behind the group as they traverse through town. "Gnome's Rock not far, yes? Not need much provisions for this journey."
Aurelia hands the blacksmith 2 gold pieces before reaching for the bundle of crossbow bolts. She steps aside to give someone else room, should they need anything. Before putting the bolts away the triton stroke the bundle with her hand, listening to the friction of her gauntlet while doing so. She kept one ear on the rest of the group, soon making sure all of her equipment was secured and in its rigtful place.
"Does anyone need anything else, or are we ready to go?"
Bennett listens to Ashley and the nods after she is finished and turns back to Crispy. "She is right. I've made a pact with something, I'm not sure what, and it frightens me. I don't know if what I made a deal with... but it may be evil. I'm not sure yet..." Bennett turns to Aurelia, "I'm ready to go if everyone else is." He gives a thumbs up and smiles.
Her face wrinkles in confusion, "How do you not know what you've made a pact with? That would scare me too, and not much scares me at all." Crispy turns her face to the side while waiting for an answer, just to say "I'm ready to go too. Lead on."
( Lets assume that Belzin already talked with the tiefling and is ready also. We'll do the pm later for that. )
The south gate lies at the end of Backpack street. Beyond that is the mining village of Gnome's Rock. 'Follow the cobblestone stone road and it will be the first village you see.' As the serving lad said.
Bennett nods, understanding what Crispy said. "My deal was made with me on the verge of death. I prayed and something heard and granted it. I know not what that something is. Maybe someday I'll find out. For now, lets get rid of some goblins." He smiles and winks at Crispy as he is being led down the road.
Ashley blushes at the sudden familiar intimacy of Crispy grabbing her around the waist. Uh..s-s-sure. Lets go. Her voice wavering a little as she speaks.

Hatt spots the rest of the group leaving the smithy and joins them. As they make their way south along Backpack Street, he strikes up a conversation with Gasp. So, where do you hail from? Are you a native to this fine city, or a newcomer like me? I must say, I’m very much looking forward to heading out into the countryside today; don’t get me wrong, this city has been most kind to me and my family, but cities are such strange places to me, so different to what I’m used to, with so many new people to meet every day. I think that back home, I could go an entire year only meeting people I’d known my whole life, and here I’m with all of you, and we only met yesterday… Hatt is aware that he’s rambling a bit, but he doesn’t mind, and is enjoying the fine weather, being in a group, and the prospect of the day’s journey.
As the group traverses along the path, Karra takes his shortbow and strings it in case of any encounters on the open road. "What are people's fight styles? Need to know who needs cover shots, maybe take out beasts for you with bow. Magic people keep away from fights, yes? Make sure warriors are close to fight."

Gasp gestures to his sword and shield, and then mimics the clinging and clanging sounds of swords clashing.

So not a chance in Hell.

I grab Ashley by the waist, and Bennett by the shoulder, smirking at them both. “Shall we..?”
Gasp gives a nod and makes the sound of a large crowd of people walking around. Then he leaves, heading out for Gnome’s Rock!
