I am always interested in what is behind the other door, but we must be careful. Also, I don't like possible leaving thing that can sneak up behind me. But I will go where the group directs me.
Before we open the West door I will listen at the two doors we are passing to ease my mind that there's nothing likely to come out and attack us from behind:
GLYNT and PORTIAwill determine that there is nothing to the north door along the corridor. And equally will determine that this ruined chamber stands empty of all but a litter of rocky debris. It is the proverbialy EMPTY ROOM.
The south door is another matter. The stone relief-carved door sealing this chamber portrays a dragon-like fish swimming. The door is locked.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
On the South Door I will check for traps and then try to Open it:
Check for Traps: (Perception) - 8
Unlock Door: (Thieves Tools) - 5
If the door unlocks I will wait for Xanth to open it and go through (or whoever wants to go in first), if I can't unlock it I am happy to move on as busting it open will be too noisy.
PORTIAindeed shows her skills by picking a very difficult lock. XANTH opens the door to see a ten-foot-square chamber that is hewn from stone. It contains an upright keg fashioned of rusted iron. Rusted pipes lead from the keg into the floor.
Assuming it is safe for the investigators, Portia will investigate (assuming with help from Glynt, not that it did much good) for 13 investigation. Mostly focused on the keg, and looking for any secret doors.
Staying out of the room until it is safely scanned by Xanth I then enter the room and assisted Portia in her investigations.
(OOC - Twice bitten in the last fight has left Glynt very cautious, the combo of somewhat low HP and a poor AC means I am struggling to last long against even the lowliest of opponents)
(RAGDORhas a really good perception check as well.)
(OOC @Glynt - First level bards tend to be a bit squishy. If it is any consequence my 1st level Paladin is lying unconscious under a Dire Wolf's paws in another campaign.)
RAGDOR examines the keg. There is a little liquid in it. But there is something else. Something is alive inside. There is a large bung plug on the top of the keg. It appears to be rusted shut.
The bung or large screw type cap at the top of the keg is rusted shut. (You could try a Strength check to open it. Also, the rusted iron of the keg is weak and can be cleaved into.)

South Door Perception Check - 20
(Going to move on through some things.)

Interesting, Ragdor looks over the runes and the dragon-like fish trying to recall something from his teachings - Religion roll 17.
RAGDOR will not recall anything of a religious nature from the image, but believe this is Omgar a legendary Sea Serpent.

GLYNT will not find a trap and is unable to pick the lock.
(Does PORTIA want to give it a try?)
Portia will trust it not being trapped attempt to show Glynt how to unlock it using the advance techniques she knows (22 to unlock the door)
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)

Xanth will look around the room before letting anyone else in.
Perception 13
Then he will move aside and let the investigators do their things.

+yes, so, let's have a look around shall we? perception roll 19+4=23
RAGDOR
examines the keg. There is a little liquid in it. But there is something else. Something is alive inside. There is a large bung plug on the top of the keg. It appears to be rusted shut.If communicated I have a +2 nature or I could help someone else.
"Xanth - something is alive in there, can you have a Quick Look?"
The bung or large screw type cap at the top of the keg is rusted shut. (You could try a Strength check to open it. Also, the rusted iron of the keg is weak and can be cleaved into.)
Can we identify what it is before we open it.
Nature 21
XANTH is unable to identify what is inside the keg.
