Glynt will reply "Yep, everything in here seems fine to me too, just need a feather duster to get clean out all the dust." He will start wiping away the dust on the runes.
When GLYNT dusts off the runes, ERKY peaks in, "Oooh, Draconic. It says, 'A dragonpriest entombed alive for transgressions of the Law still retains the honor of his position.'"
ERKY sighs, "I wonder what that means."
You do not detect anything else in this small hidden room.
"Should be fine doesn't sound reassuring to me. What if he is kept in a magical stasis. Enough he is aware of being trapped, but not enough to die. I am sure if that was available, my old boss would have used that punishment aplenty."
ERKY moves back into the previous room listening to the discussion, "Oh, so there is likely a Dragonpriest entombed alive. I guess that means there." ERKY points to the tomb across the pit. "So, do we go over and free it, or do we leave it alone? AsRAGDOR says, 'that can't be good.' But asGLYNT said, 'it has been a long time." He turns and looks at the Halfling, "PORTIAif your old boss did that to you, wouldn't you want someone to free you? Or maybe there is a good reason it has been entombed like this. Should we just leave it alone and go find the lost children?"
Xanth "Nothing about this place has said to me that the people who lived here were good. So that could mean this one tried to something good and was punished. But more likely they crossed a line that was just a step to far. I say all that just to say yes, we should check but be ready for a fight. As for the pit we could go back and get so wood planks from the Kobolds or from the Goblin area."
"If my boss did that to me I would want to be free. But I would also be pretty pissed and likely lash out in anger at the person who released me, not because of them, but because the person I would expect to release me would be my boss."
RAGDOR puts some ideas together. This was a cult dedicated to Ashardalon. Ashardalon was next to Tiamat the most powerful of dragons. The Dragonpriest of Ashardalon would prize "power" as much as anything else. And though RAGDOR will not know anything specific about this Dragonpriest, he can assume that the violation of the law has something to do with obtaining power.
share what I know with the other, Now, that being said, if, an that's a big if, this priest is still here and living, or unliving or whatever, I'd rather we deal with it than some kids, like the ones we're looking for, stumble upon it and release who knows what. Let's check our gear, everyone ok on spells? and say, have we used that fire breathing potion yet?
Glynt will reply "I can't remember who took that potion, but we should all be on full strength as we had a good rest before we came here and aside from a lone arrow bouncing off Bones I don't think anything else has happened."
With a simple push, Bones opens the door. (OOC-He's dead Jim.)
Dust coats the contents of this tiny chamber, obscuring runes inscribed on the southern wall.
(Map updated!)
(Nice)
"Someone please, check that for traps. Before we try to check out those runes."
Glynt will carefully enter the room and with assistance from someone he will look for traps.
Check for Traps: 14
Perception roll 7. Looks good to me...

entombed alive??? Hardened steel! That can't be good.
Glynt will say "I wonder which law he broke? Still that was a loooooong time ago so we should be fine."

Ragdor ponders a bit, trying to recall anything from his studies of stories about an entombed dragonpriest. History check Nat 20+2=22.

Glynt will suggest "Do you think we could just lock this place back up again, give back the key and get the Elixir of Health instead?"
Xanth will let out a laugh. "I have feeling there is a no trade back in the deal. Well, what are we doing?"

Xanth " I agree let take care of it now if we don't you know the Kobalts will."
Glynt "OK then, so how do we get in there without being impaled?"
