Bix looks at the others and gingerly, sets the bag down, making sure to not step on the tiles or touch the statue. Well that was close! Thanks Xanth! Ok Erky, it's all yours. She steps closer to Ragdor behind his sheild.
ERKY will take a few moments to cast a ritual Detect Magic. The bag radiates magic, as well as faintly the tile and the statue.
ERKY will first take a closer look at the bag. He will perform a ritual Identify on the bag. It is a Bag of Holding. Inside is Flask of Alchemist Fire and 60 gold pieces.
ERKY then goes and stands on the tiles, and calls out in Draconic, '“Let the sorcerous power illuminate my spirit.” Suddenly a puff of spectral flame harmlessly envelops ERKY. The magic then fades away. "Well, that is odd. I somehow feel that I could charm anyone."
(Erky has Advantage on Charisma checks for the next 24 hours. That may be useful. I guess.)
The party will check the door and find nothing threatening about it.
Beyond the door the party sees leaning and fallen stone bookshelves fill this chamber, though a clear path connects wooden doors on opposite walls. Torn and burnt pages, bindings, and scrolls form disordered piles in the corners.
Rooting around in the wreckage uncover a spell scroll of scorching ray, a spell scroll of Melf’s acid arrow, and a tome of dragon lore bound in dragon scale and written in Draconic (Erky believes this is a rare tome worth 150 gp).
The door is not trapped or locked. When XANTH opens the door, he will see a set of stairs that appears to go below the arboreum and then up another set of stairs on the other side to a corridor. The corridor then turns right.
Beyond at the end of a long hallway are two doors.
(Current map last update. I will be posting a new map in the OOC thread.)
Bix picks up the bag and flask and follows behind Ragdor and Xanth. This is interesting, I wonder where those doors lead . Should we choose one door and all go in together or split up and go through both at the same time? Any ideas?
Ragdor steps to the first door and has a listen, perception roll 17. Moving to the next door, he whispers to Bix, we stay together lass, we've seen enough down here to know that splitting up could be deadly. He listens at the next door, perception roll 7.
sorcerous power? Like a fire or light spell ya think?
ERKY will muse, "I wonder what would happen if you stood on the tile and spoke the words in Draconic. Should I give it a try?"
can give it a try, missy might want to set that bag down and move away first. Ragdor readies his shield and hammer, just in case.
Glynt moves well away just in case and listens intently to what happens next (map updated).
"Be careful Bix that bag is magic. Also, the tile and statue."
Xanth will step back and ready himself.
"Can anyone give him a boost just in case he needs to get out of the way in a hurry?"
(Guidance or inspiration maybe)

(What does the party do now?)
"Thanks, Erky. Bix why don't you take the bag and the Flask. Let's check the door and get moving."
(Moving on!)

Ragdor peers through the door, more rats I reckon, Xanth you still seeing magic with your vision?
"No, it's just for a moment. But I will head in first."
Perception 10 Looking around for an ambush or trap.
XANTH will not find a trap and is not ambushed.
ERKY looks in amazement, "It was a library. I wonder if there is anything interesting about. SIR RAGDOR could you give me a hand with the bookshelf?"
(Ragdor can make a Perception check with Advantage.)
Certainly my young friend, Ragdor moves to help Erky out, perception roll 15

(Where to next?)
Well, that was rich for no encounter. Yeah.
"Shall we proceed?"
Xanth readies himself at the door.
(Moving along!)

RAGDOR does not hear anything at the first door. The door is locked. He doesn't hear anything at the second door as well.
well, all silent behind the doors, the first one is locked. Lass care to have a look at it to see if you can persuade it open?
