Sparhawk will use a first aid kit on Wysaleth to help stabilize him. "Damn, thank you for protecting us from those things. I waited until you were outnumbered. We need to come up with a solution for Baron that allows those who need it the rest to recover, otherwise we will eventually be too weakened to survive these situations. Does anyone have any ideas?"
"If we could get a long night's rest then maybe..."
Kos looks around at where they are before continuing.
"Never mind. I just realized that was what we were trying to do."

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"Perhaps we simply need to focus on Tess getting a long rest as soon as possible, while the rest of us remain alert and preparing for further travels, discussing goals, sharpening blades, etc. Once Tess removes the curse, the rest of the group can finally get rest as well."
"I don't know any more. It's your quest. I'm exhausted and just want to sleep."

"The curse seems to strike each night at midnight. If we start trying to rest again immediately, we should be able to succeed. My only worry is that the curse seems to escalate with each night. The first night came simple shadowspawn, the next, a glabrezu. We need to rid ourselves of this curse, as soon as possible."
"I could grow vegetation over Tess so that she is obscured and hopefully able to get an uninterrupted rest. As for the rest of us, I have my doubts that another casting of Tiny Hut would anything more than split us up to a degree that places us at a disadvantage if the demons come once more.
With Tess hidden, we may rest as much as we are able while still being prepared to respond in force of needed.
I will defer to the wisdom of the group, however, as I am newer to this struggle than the rest of you"
(Anyone need healing?) "Lets keep headed up and try to get out of these caves and further away from the drow. We'll try again later, or perhaps more options will come to us."
"I understand my friend. We will figure this out together. I too am very tired. We have been together through some ridiculous situations. We will figure out this one."

"if I take a short rest, I can memorize a spell I haven't yet prepared that prevents teleportation and planar travel. I don't know if that would stop the demons from coming, but it may be worth a try."
Private Sanctum:
You make an area within range magically secure. The area is a Cube that can be as small as 5 feet to as large as 100 feet on each side. The spell lasts for the duration.
When you cast the spell, you decide what sort of security the spell provides, choosing any of the following properties:
Sound can’t pass through the barrier at the edge of the warded area.
The barrier of the warded area appears dark and foggy, preventing vision (including Darkvision) through it.
Sensors created by Divination spells can’t appear inside the protected area or pass through the barrier at its perimeter.
Creatures in the area can’t be targeted by Divination spells.
Nothing can teleport into or out of the warded area.
Planar travel is blocked within the warded area.
The idea being that it might prevent any demons from appearing due to the things the spell blocks.
The captain, who called himself Sir Sparhawk when fighting the demon, considers their options. "Hum, I am not familiar with the magic with that power MarCailous but it sounds promising. Still, let us assume the Baron is right and it activates once/ day. I figure we have a bit of time to keep heading out of these caves. Then we can refind the entrance and resume the task at hand, should you wish to join me that is."
"Baron, I told you that you reminded me of someone. Long ago, I was exiled from my order. I took a ship across the seas and found my way to a port town called Luskan. There, I met a group of misfits and outcasts and we began traveling together, making money as we could. Anyway, our chosen leader was a woman named Sorsha. She accepted me and the rest for who we were and...brought out the best in each of us. One day, when we had defeated a group of enemies who had stolen an artifact of great power, the ground opened up around Captain Sorsha. Tentacles came up from the opening, and she was swallowed, back to her master I suspect." Sparhawk struggles, with the memories.
The group, leaderless had a difficult choice. We could break up and go our separate ways, or we could elect a new leader. I did not want, nor did I deem myself worthy of such a position. I was a fallen paladin, who had broken his vows." Sparhawk's crooked broken nose begins bleeding and he wipes at it unconsciously. "Thus, I was deemed the leader, "Captain" they called me, "Captain Sparhawk."
He smiles, yet there is sadness in his eyes. "I have been weighed by the mantle of leadership since the day my captain, Captain Sorsha left us. Thus, I see it as a true omen friend Longstride that you are here now. I was not about to let the demon end your life in this dark place."
"Captain, your actions were indeed heroic and placed you in the fight at a time when you were most needed. You have earned the authority of your rank, do not doubt it."
MarCailous turns to the gnome.
"Perhaps you were reared in a culture that does not value tact and understanding but 'this Baron guy seems like a problem' shows you lack both. Baron is not the problem here and we have been discussing solutions ad nauseum."
He then turns towards the path ahead.
"I believe the current plan is to move further away from the Drow stronghold to find a suitable place for those that need it to rest and recover from exhaustion and wounds. You missed the opportunity to slay enemies last night, but I'm certain there will be ample opportunities to sate your lust for blood in the coming days."
"Well let's talk and walk at the same time then, I'm all for getting back on track if that means going up."
And Kos points up with his thumb when he says 'up.'

Baron gives a small smile as Marcailous comes to his defense. However, during Sparhawk's story, Baron seems... distant. "Friend, as you once called me, I am afraid that your story seems to border on praise. While I am glad that you have told me of Captain Sorsha, I am afraid that I have led a very different life than she." He swallows, "Many who seek my master do so out of need. My master is powerful, and, unlike many beings, not evil. Unfortunately, I did not seek her out of need. I sought her out of want. I became a pirate, stealing from careless merchants on the sea. I did not kill unnecessarily, but... I was much more evil than my master. Once, a master of the arcane, one you would call a wizard, was aboard a ship I attempted to capture. With ease, his magics destroyed my crew and my ship. I came to my master of jealousy, wanting such power for myself. As a servant, I reformed of my ways, but do not expect that I will ever take power in this, or any group. I am afraid of what I would do with power... who I would hurt." He stands, turning to MarCailous "Perhaps the gnome is right. If I were to leave, the rest of the group would no longer be under threat from the abyss. I have magic that I can use when alone that is less than useful with others. I can probably outrun any threat the Demon king might send after me." He looks to Sparhawk, "for the safety of your crew, I would be willing to leave."

I do not.
