Dornin- “…What about the rest of you? Any plans for your share of coin?"
Chandle looking about nervously, not used to forests versus the vast open deserts she grew up in…, “My payment will be going towards a two bedroom flat with a big hearth and nicely appointed kitchen.”
As it becomes obvious the predators are closing in on them…. She readies an arrow for the first within 100 yards and shoots. Attack: 18 Damage: 3
"I suppose the coin will be useful in helping people and finding a teacher", Kallith responds to Dornin.
She looks up to the tower on the hill, mentally making a mark. It surely wouldn't take them long to check check it out, but one never knew.
As the firbolg sees the worg and wolves approaching fast, she alerts the others. "It's about to get busy! Worg leading the pack!" She drops her backpack to the floor, untying the shoes and the shield from it, donning both in a hurry.
Then she is busy rummaging in her belongings for two rations of dried meat, stuffing them inside her pant pockets for easy access. After that, the backpack is thrown back on again.
Her preparations include casting magic stone on three pebbles when the worg is less than a minute away. "We may be able to distract the wolves with meat, but I'm not sure about the worg." [nature 5] Kallith tries to remember something about these creatures, but she doesn't.
Octo says "I will spend my coin on some fine crafted armor you above grounders are known for.
OK, it looks like we have a fight on our hands. Everyone do what you do best. Me I'll take the worg!"
Octo looks around to see if anything could provide a choke point for the rushing animals, and starts spinning his axe in his hands, preparing to enter his battle rage.
Dornin is terrified at the thought of being eaten by such a grotesque creature. He sees his friends ready for a fight as Chandle fires off a deadly arrow. He places his hand atop his tome once again to draw the energy from it. When he looks up he is no longer afraid, but excited to get into such an exciting encounter. Blackish energy tingles and sparks from his fingers. Hold action to when one comes within (BA:Hex Wis) (A:Eldritch Blast- Nat 1.)

As you brace yourself, wolves and a worg coming from the South, East and North, Barking and yipping as they charge through the woods. The trees begin to shake as a thunderous roar can be heard coming from the forested slopes. A flock of deer erupts from the tree line, Chandle’s arrow flies true, straight into the breast of a buck. It careens into the herd as they crash in fear past you. Churning maelstrom of deer flesh charging over and through you like a crashing tsunami.
Make a Dex save DC 12
If you succeed, you have thrown yourself clear and scramble to your feet, as the deer race past, eyes swimming with fear and a sour tang of sweat.
If you fail, the wall of deer knocks you prone their sharp hooves and heaving bodies doing 2d6 bludgeon damage.
The wolves tear past you in the surrounding woods, driving the flock towards steep cliffs. Nipping and barking at their heels. As the Worg enters the clearing it stops, sniffing, it barks once, twice as a couple wolves peel off the pursuing pack, turning into the clearing at the Worgs orders.
“Man flesh, I knew I could smell it on the air.” It looks towards its receding packmates chasing the flock, then back at you. Sniffing the air, “ahh, a hint of Elf, my favorite” A quick bark, has the two wolves and Worg attacking.
The Worg charges into the clearing heading straight for Dornin, knowing it won't get past Octo without a fight it turns and lunges at the Minotaur.
Biting lunge : Attack: 23 Damage: 8
The two wolves bar their teeth, growling as they stalk and circle Kallith, backing her towards her companions. The two lunge attacking in unison
I would have raged right before battle if I could. (DM call on if that can happen before initiative is rolled. Everything below is based on not-raging)
Kallith yelps and throws herself out of the way of the herd of deer [Dex 17]. She gets to her feet just in time to see the wolves charge the rest of the way.
She stumbles to her feet, holding her shield ready for the onslaught of teeth. From the corner of her eye, she notices that the worg has severely injured Octo. "Iallanis mercy to all! Gather your strength my friend!" [Healing word, healing Octo for 5 HP]
Unfortunately this distracted her enough for the wolves to rush up and overwhelm her shoddy defense, crashing past the shield. Hissing in pain, Kallith is biting her teeth to keep standing. "Hey, I may be tasty, but I'm way too much work. Take some of these!"
Kallith throws one of the prepared rations at the wolves in the hope of distracting them.
Dornin is just lucky enough to see the herd of deer come running their way and dodge enough to stay on his feet but just barely (Dex:12). Hearing the Worg speak was something Dornin hoped he was imagining. Addressing him as the Worg's next meal was frightening...but in a good way? with his Hex on the Worg, Dornin sets his sights on it, hopefully giving Octo a sturdy distraction to take its head.
He fires off another Blast. The inky black energy launching from his palms fire out of him like a cannon towards the creature. (Attack:16 Damage: 8 Force + 3 Nec= 11 total) Dornin then proceeds to run northward to put as much distance between him and that Worg as possible.

Octo, Kallith
Octo falls to the wall of panicked deer, their hooves chipping bone and tearing flesh. He begins to struggle up when the Worg pounces upon him, ripping a long furrow in his forearm. Kallith reacts quickly keeping Octo alive and awake, (5 Hp), with rage he rises, a Worg hanging from his arm. Octo swings wildly but misses.
Kallith tosses the dried meat over the wolves back…

Wolf 1 : 21

The first wolf lunges at the meat, catching one in its jaws it dashes the ten feet to grab the other.

Wolf two, Bite against Kallith Attack: 8 Damage: 6
If the attack hits, Grapple/ trip to knock Kallith prone: 21
An arrow streaks into the Worgs flank, it turns with a baleful snarl at Chandle, its nose twitching at the scent of Elf.
Dornin fires a bolt of inky darkness, striking the Worg, then turns dashing towards the cliff.
Dornin
The Half-elf leaves the safety of its companions, running from the fight. The Worg, leaping past the struggling Minotaur, lunges at Dornin, covering the distance quickly. The Worgs fangs flash with wicked cruelty tearing at the Half-elf. Trying to grab ahold and carry him away into the dark forest.
Biting lunge against Dornin: Attack: 24 Damage: 12
[Tooltip Not Found] ; Against Dornin : 9
If the attack against Dornin hits or not, the Worg attempts to grab and carry him into the woods, (It does not have the movement available to get very far at this point, They will be at the tree, next to the cliff, directly North of Dornin's starting position). As long as Dornin survives the Biting lunge he can fight the grapple, if he is unconscious he can not.
Dornin is able to fend off the breast from biting into his flesh, however, is unable to stop the creature from biting on to his robes and start pulling him away (Acrobatics: 11)
Being dragged from the ground, Dornin attempts himself to find some kind of balance to fire off another blast. (Disadvantage-Eldritch Blast:13 Damage:3 Force + 2 Nec=5)
Kallith uses her shield to fend of the one wolf that isn't distracted by the meat, shoving it back with effort. Looking around, she sees Dorning being dragged away. 'This worg really has it out for him', she thinks.
Shouting: "SIT!" at the remaining wolf, she tries to hit his snout with one of the previously enchanted stones. [Attack with disadvantage because it's a ranged attack in melee, to hit: 8, damage: 7 bldg.]
The firbolg then touches her flower amulet for a moment intones: "Iallanis, I welcome your embrace.", before holding her breath.
With that, Kallith suddenly disappears out of sight.¹ She will make haste towards where the worg is dragging Dornin. If the worg has been killed, she will instead merely seek to put 30 feet of distance between her and the wolves, looking for a good source of cover behind a tree.
¹Hidden Step feature: as a bonus action, you can magically turn invisible until the start of your next turn
The worg leaps past Octo who takes the opportunity to bring his ax down on its rump, a vicious strike. The worg still grabs Dornin, dragging him towards the woods until an arrow thumps in and black necrotic energy erupts. The worg, dead, tumbles down the cliff.
With the worg dead the two wolves scramble into the woods, leaving g the clearing silent but for your own heavy breathing.
In the distance the sound of the pack can be heard fighting over their deer kill while vultures begin to circle.
There’s one more general rule you need to know at the outset. Whenever you divide a number in the game, round down if you end up with a fraction, even if the fraction is one-half or greater.
Ammunition. You can use a weapon that has the ammunition property to make a ranged attack only if you have ammunition to fire from the weapon. Each time you attack with the weapon, you expend one piece of ammunition. Drawing the ammunition from a quiver, case, or other container is part of the attack (you need a free hand to load a one-handed weapon). At the end of the battle, you can recover half your expended ammunition by taking a minute to search the battlefield.
The above are official rules from the PHB.
I do however like a variant from AngryGm. Contrary to the above; You can always recover one arrow.
You can take a leg in about ten minutes of work, (4 rations equivalent of fresh venison)
Or you can spend an hour and full dress the deer (16 rations equivalent of fresh deer, Only good for 4 days)
Chandle recovers her arrow and within 10 minutes cuts the nicest sections of meat for later. She is certain the rest of this carcass will not go to waste with so many scavengers and predators about.
”Hey are you guys okay? We probably shouldn’t linger here too long. Octo if you weren’t here I’m fairly sure I’d have been a goner. One of these steaks is for you.”
