Backstory: My earliest memories where sitting on the late great lizard Queen Gran'Nana's lap as she held court. I was found, a lost runt by the druid know as the Whisperer. The Whisperer returned for the queen's funeral. He saved be from being served up in her wake when she passed. He taught me to live off the land and treat her(Mother Nature) kindly. Each year was a new biome. Checking that I left it better than I found it. Til the day he sat me down and told me it was time to find my place in the world, did I think how cruel nature without nurture can be. Grateful for the knowledge given me, I prepared rations and a feast to see our separate journeys. I headed south seeking to be warm again, following the coast.
Spells: Entangle, Healing Word, Purify Food&Drink(R), Speak w/ Animals(R)
I'll lend my Nature knowledge and Survival skills to keeping a hygienic camp. Cooking, cleaning, digging a latrine.
I could switch out Entangle for Detect Magic(R) but need to know before we start. Wizard can cast (R)itual by just having it in their book. But if you want a different spell let me know.
Same here, if selections have been made, good luck and congrats to everyone who got through, have a great adventure, and if selections haven't been made I'm also hoping to get through as well :D
Yeah, I see what you mean but I think that's the wizard Presto (original name, I know) from the D&D show that ran in the 80s, so he came before Harry Potter meaning that there's a slim chance that Harry Potter actually looks like him rather than the other way round lmao, though I doubt J.K Rowling has/had any interest or inspiration from DND when she wrote her books.
Ah, didn't know that. Though with Presto's magic failing I had to look at Terry Pratchett's Colour of Magic since that made me think of Rincewind.
Seems Color was released in November of 1983 and the show aired Sept-Dec of 1983. Makes me wonder if there was any inspiration (though I'm not sure when Pratchett started writing Colour) since Pratchett did play D&D for a while.
Wizards not being able to cast the spells they want have been around for a long time.
In the 1968 novel "The Last Unicorn", the wizard Schmendrick was called "the world's worst magician". In the movie his magic phase was "Magic, magic, do as you will", when strange things would happen...

Think you got it set to private. Have to edit Character, 1st home page at the bottom set to public.
Love reading the sheets!
“Oh brother, here we go again…”
Is it just me or does the green-robed wizard look like Harry Potter?
This is a signature. It was a simple signature. But it has been upgraded.

Those are the original Dungeons and Dragons cartoon characters, the green robed wizard almost never cast an as intended spell unlike master Potter.

So rather than a wizard they were closer to a Wild Magic Sorcerer from the sounds of it?

Hello, sorry for late answer. I was without Internet on my trip.
Changed to Public.
The campaign is currently ongoing so I'm guessing you won't be added.
But there is another person recruiting for their own Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. So if you're particularly intrigued by this campaign, best of luck.
