[Hopefully playing an evil character is alright, I'll play him so that he isn't a problem to other players or their characters (he'll mainly keep to himself) but if his alignment/personality and attitude isn't suitable for this campaign I'm happy to adjust it :) ]
The campaign is designed around a good/neutral aligned party but the way you've designed him should allow him to be fine, however it may cause him some other problems. :)
[Okay, I'll play him as a particularly self centered True Neutral or Chaotic Neutral character in that case since he's still got a shred of good inside him otherwise he wouldn't have became a soldier in the first place, hopefully that should suit the party better. His main ambition and goal behind adventuring is to make money and live a life of luxury as far away from the wretched life he lived when he was younger]
I remember one character I ran where I had listed the alignment as neutral. But after an in character discussion of good vs. evil, I realized my character was actual an evil character doing good things for evil reasons. Not anything that would be a threat to the party, just liked killing and was willing to limit to killing evil. Give them evil creatures to kill and they would go along with anything else you wanted to do.
Note this is NOT the character I submitted. But it was a fun 4e character.
That analogy fits well for my character idea, the only reason they are adventuring and doing good things is to accumulate wealth, kill and live a life of gluttony, sloth and greed. So they wouldn't be a threat at all to the party but they're not doing what they're doing on any moral basis at all; it's all for themself, despite the fact they're helping people inadvertently
Name: Cherry Littleoak Race: Lightfoot Halfling Class: Warlock (The Archfey) Background: Haunted One Character Sheet:https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/119139050/DTbbgg Backstory: Cherry lived a peaceful wife. Good neighbors. Wonderful husband and kids. Things were peaceful and delightful. That was until the beast attacked. [[ Willing to change what "the beast" is to whatever ties into the adventure nicely. ]] Powerless to stop it, all she could do was to see the ones she loved die. Alone in the woods after the attack she came across an archfey that offered to make her stronger. Filled with a desire to stop others from having to experience the same loss she did she accepted. She now travels to [ADVENTURE_LOCATION] with a desire to root out evil or die trying. Hopefully there will be companions for the journey. Character Art:
The tribe Irtos was born in had been under the service of an evil red dragon. The heroes came and slayed the dragon (whose evil plans were disrupting the nearby city). The kobold in the party then hired the kobolds, allowing them to earn a living without causing the city problems. The heroes were also collecting children to raise as the next generation of heroes. They took Irtos and raised her to be a cleric of Bahamut.
Being a quick growing kobold, Irtos is already an adult, before the other next generation heroes, and she is ready to strike out on her own. To get out of the shadow of the heroes, Irtos is heading for Stormwreck Isle, where she can be evaluated based on her own abilities, and not as one of the daughters of the hero party.

I would recommend that the "beast" be a blue dragon wyrmling. You later learned its name was Sparkrender and that it had made its layer in an observatory on Stormwreck Isle. You're hoping a certain Elder Runara will guide you to Sparkrender so you can exact justice.

Roll some ability scores for if my kobold cleric is accepted:
Ability scores: 16 11 12 13 14 16
Looks like the forum die-roller decided to get wonky. But I remember there being a 17 in there before, right? (Not sure what they all were though.)

Adding link for Kobold cleric (same character as I posted before, just with more details):

What I recorded (before they changed) was 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 17
Overall the new rolls are better, so if the DM wants me to use those, I don't mind :-)
