The door was locked but Gotrek managed to force it open with his shoulder although it seemed to take more effort than he would expect for a simple wooden door. As you come through the door you realise that you are on a small landing (10x10 feet). On your left side (north) you see a set of steps heading downward, directly in front of you is a wall sconce with a burned our torch that is somehow generating light. To your right (south) you see a set of steps heading upwards.
This place seems unusually empty though we know there are some people here somewhere, so that probably means down, we’re these guys earth related in their cult? Let’s go down to under the earth.

The corridor and steps are well lit from the torch on the wall. The party heads downstairs and at the base of steps is facing a a large set of double doors (10 feet wide) which are made of bronze.
Inside the Monastery – 6.30 am Day 5 - First 10 Day - Kythorn (Month of Flowers)
The doors were initially stuck but Gotrek is able open them with such a bang it could have woken the dead. As the party looks into the room, Cole and Thromkor can see through the five feet of bright light and the further 20 feet of dim light generated by the torch in the wall that the chamber has a barrel vaulted roof and the walls are made of dressed stone and there are flagstones on the wall. You can see immediately to your right (east) two stone biers on which lie dessicated humanoid shaped bodies. The rest of the room is in darkness.
Seeing no threats or traps, Gotrek says, "There is a much larger bier further inside on the eastern side. Might be worthwhile checking it out to see what is going on here." With that, Gotrek leads the way into the darkness keeping his eye out and Axe ready. Then he turns his head and says to the group, "I will keep an eye out for anything ahead of us and if Tibold can keep an eye out to the west incase someone tries to sneak up on us. Also, I suggest Thromkor move forward stay with me and the same with Cole and Tibold so that no one is by themselves and blind."

OOC: For those party members without dark vision (Cole & Thromkor), the brighter circle is bright light generated by the torch in the wall and the duller circle is dim light generated by the same torch. Everything else is darkness. For those members with dark vision (Gotrek and Tibold), the duller circle is the limit of your brightly lit area and everything else is dimly lit. It is too hard to put up two maps so Cole and Thromkor please act only on what you can see or are told.

"Don't get up too quickly,"he calls to the closest of the creatures.
"We'll be putting you back before you know it."
Then, Tibold looks down at his spectral keyboard, narrowing his eyes as he plays a vibrant series of arpeggios, each faster than the other. For just a moment, the half-elf's fair skin glows with a brilliant radiance, and he is surrounded by an aura of white flames, which fill him and his allies with sudden vigor.
Vicious Mockery on the closest Creature. If it can hear him, DC 15 Wisdom save or 3 psychic and effects.
Additionally, 1 use of BI was expended to grant Tibold and his allies 5 temporary hitpoints. TIbold and his allies may each immediately expend their reaction to move up to their speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Gotrek just laughs, "You don't need to ask me twice!"
With that Gotrek walks up to the door and rests if door is open.

Thromkor will attempt to increase the amount of light from the torch using thaumaturgy.
Tibold frowns thoughtfully at Cole's words.
"That seems reasonable. Lead on, then, if you would!" he finishes with a partial grin.
And that's all I have to say about that.
Thromkor points out the torch. "I am unable to manipulate that torch with magic. It appears to already be magical in nature."
Gotrek leads the way downstairs

Tibold squints at the door. Not noticing anything remarkable about it, he turns to Gotrek again.
"No need to knock, I'd say."
And that's all I have to say about that.

Bizarre. Thromkor has the highest investigation proficiency.
Thromkor will check for traps.
Investigation: 3
And THIS is why you don't let the dragonborn check for traps.

Thromkor nods and follows the dwarf.
With a shrug of his shoulders, Tibold follows. Periodically, he scans to the west, and checks to see whether Cole is still with him.
And that's all I have to say about that.

"Should have lit a torch," Thromkor grumbles.
Seeing the bodies start to move, "Careful, some of the bodies are starting to risen. I think we have a fight coming." Gotrek says, readying his axe
