Keyleth receives no response from the winged kobold's to her question. They continue to watch as Kirinar and Faen move to leave the room. Ransyl still stands ready for a fight.
Keyleth whispers in Ransyl's ear (again using minor illusion), "We may need this key. It might just be bait, but they've lost the element of surprise. Want to try to climb up and get it while I back you up from down here? You're better at climbing than I am."
As soon as he prepares and grabs at the pillar, Ransyl slips and falls back down. He tries to play it cool, and leans against the pillar, adjusting his armor. Then he winks at Keyleth, shrugs, and gathers his shield and handaxe. Backing slowly out the door with Keyleth.
“I guess we’ll have to come back for it, if needed.”
Ransyl moves across the room and suddenly tries to climb the column that holds the key. He tries to get a grip but is unable to do so and slips back to the floor. From above he hears a sharp hiss "We warned you!" the cry comes from above.
Just as the door is closing behind Kirinar and Faen they hear the scream of the kobolds!
The 4 winged kobolds leap from the alcoves and attack!
Hearing the sound of a skirmish, the fighter rushes back in to the room and sees Keyleth and a winged kobold on the ground and Ransyl standing with his shield over his head. Looking up, he sees the other flying creatures and asks, "What did you do?!!? Faen, need some help shooting these things down! Stand by me and I'll guard you!" He holds his shield high to protect Faen and himself, the morningstar in his other hand ready to strike at any of the creatures that come close.
(PROTECTION: When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield.)
“Wha-...How?” Faen says blatantly confused. “What happened? We were leaving.” Faen sighs and deflates a little, but pulls out her bow and pulls back, shouting “I’m so sorry” (in Draconic)
Attack: 20 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
OoC: I wasn’t sure if they could see Keyleth or not
OOC - have Any of these Kobolds Been inside my Malay range? If so I would like to use my reaction for opportunity of attack. Also, Is there something that can be done by another player to help a player that is unconscious?
