"It will take something special and valuable to convince the lizardfolk to leave you alone. Do you have anything that we can offer them as a settlement and convince them to let you have this part of the swamp? We will act as your speaker for a small reward. If we fail to secure an agreement, we will return your settlement offering. This is the pact I offer."
With that said the dragon dives into the water. He is gone for a couple minutes and then reappears and climbs into the flat space in the center of the water.
He then opens a dark blue cloth that appears to be clean and dry considering it was kept at the bottom of a swamp.
You see hundreds of coins, some gems, a gold tablet and what looks to be some sort of idol. The are other things but you can't make out what they are.
"Here are 2 bloodstone gems, very valuable. And this small gold tablet depicting a gigantic reptilian creature looming over stylized trees." Would this be enough? "
“Your treasure is welcome, thank you. However, for our ongoing peace, you will need to play an intergalactic part of this three-way alliance. Be thinking about what you have to offer, protection for travelers may be something. You will also want to think about what you will say when meeting with both Lizardfolk and Mire’s Edge Leaders to work out this new alliance.”
"Meeting? Can you not negotiate the peace between Mire's Edge and the Black Claw clan now? I will keep my people from bothering the Lizardfolk and your people until you have spoken to them on my behalf. The human says he will do this for a reward."
Nox looks at Kirinar.
"What is your name soldier? If we are to be friends I should know your names. Unless you are really here to kill me?"
Nox sets aside some treasure.
"I offer these 4 rings and 80gp to you as a reward for helping me."
“Thank you for your generosity. My name is Ransyl, and if you desire for us to be your representative, then we can. Please know that if you do break the peace agreement, we will come back in a much worse way.”
"And I am Kirinar. Yes, we will speak for you to the lizardfolk and the leaders of Mire's Edge. We will offer the 2 bloodstone gems and the small gold tablet depicting a gigantic reptilian creature looming over stylized trees to the lizardfolk as a peace offering from you. You will give us those 4 rings and 80gp as a reward. You promise to live in peace in these lands and uphold the agreements made. Offers of work and trading shall be handled separately by us or others. This agreement shall remain in force and may be altered at the agreement of all parties. Are we all agreed?"
Nox immediately scoops up the items to be given and flies over to the main platform near Yuty. He hands all of the items over.
With the dragon so close you can see he isn't much of a creature, very small for even a young dragon.
"It is getting very late in the day. You are welcome to stay in the temple to rest overnight and return to Mire's Edge. Stay in Wruenele's quarters. I will have his body removed. You will not be bothered, I assure you."
You can tell through the opening of the roof that it is getting dark outside.
Turning to the others, Ransyl whispers to the others “I know it’s not ideal, but it is late, and we can take turns in watch to defend ourselves if need be.”
On Kirinar's watch, he will inspect one of the rings and the gold tablet. He also checks and cleans his weapons and armor, ensuring no blood or swamp water residue remains.
The items you were given to give to the lizardfolk are the two bloodstone jewels which are worth 50 gp each, the small gold tablet depicting a gigantic reptilian creature looming over stylized trees is worth 200 gp
For your services in negotiations you received 4 moonstone and silver rings in the shapes of serpents that are worth 80 gp each as well 80gp.
Ransyl inspects the ring he found earlier and estimates it's value at 20gp.
The night passes quietly and in the morning the group awakens refreshed.
As the group is gathering it's equipment together and making preparations to leave they hear a soft knocking at the door. Opening it you find Yuty has come to the door.
"I am here to escort you out. Nox assembled the clan last night and told them what is happening. Of course some are upset with you over the deaths you caused. The clan is accepting of the decisions and is falling in line. But my presence will ensure you can leave unhindered."
She looks you up and down.
"However, I do require the return of the key. When I have that back we can leave."
She waits patiently as you finish gathering your gear to leave.
Post that you are ready to go and whatever else you wish to post so I know you are all still with me.
OoC: Total value of the reward part of the loot, not counting the ring Ransyl already had, is 400gp, or 100 each (call it one ring and 20gp each?). Is Kirinar carrying the peace offering for the lizardfolk? I believe he also has the key?
Keyleth wakes up feeling refreshed, and replies to Yuty with a simple nod. "I don't know about the rest of you, but I couldn't be more ready to get out of here," she says to the others.
“Yuty, I want peace in this situation, but I feel something in my gut about that key. I would feel much better about our agreement if you could tell us more about this key and to what it ‘unlocks’.”
"The key? It unlocks the door leading to Nox's sanctuary. Wruenele had to retrieve it, by my authorization only, to see Nox. Neither of us trusted him. I have my own key but Wruenele did not know that. Wruenele was a sorcerer with an appetite for power. You have done us a service by eliminating him."

"Excellent! I am in agreement."

“Nox, thank you for your hospitality.”
Turning to the others, Ransyl whispers to the others “I know it’s not ideal, but it is late, and we can take turns in watch to defend ourselves if need be.”
“We will take you up on your offer.”
Nox nods quickly.
You follow him out of the room and back to the other building. Nox quickly removes the bodies from the room and he and Yuty clean things up.
They leave you alone, offering food before they leave.
As you spend the night those on watch will see that Yuty stands guard outside of Nox's door.
You have plenty of time to inspect any items you have found, attune if needed and rest.
The night passes uneventfully.
OOC go ahead and hit the long rest in the character sheets. RP any items you inspect, etc...
On Kirinar's watch, he will inspect one of the rings and the gold tablet. He also checks and cleans his weapons and armor, ensuring no blood or swamp water residue remains.

OoC: Does anyone want anything inspected by Faen?

OOC- Ransyl doesn’t have any needs/requests. He’s not sure that he fully trusts Nox.
You inspect the items given to you.

Also 125 xp each for your dealing with Nox.

Kirinar has the key in his hand, ready to hand it over to Yuty, but he holds onto it for a moment longer to see if she answers Ransyl's question...
