Cheeky rubs his clean little mouse hands together excitedly as he explains, “Other Wise Critters? Oh there’s a fair few of us. Dunno as I ken guide you to ‘em, I’m rather s’posed to stay here an’ look after the flowers, but I ken explain a bit where ye might find ‘em. Lessee, there’ll be Molder over in the vegetable patch, he’s an earthworm, then there’s Kenri the moth over in the herb garden, she’s a bit shy. Wisp swims in the pond, of course, an’ Gruup the bullfrog is usually near there, he can be a bit testy but the trick is to play him a bit o’ music. That’s just to name a few, that is. I’ve no doubt that some o’ them may have some interestin’ thoughts about yer, ah, predicament.”
“As fer paying’ us back, well, can’t say I ever thought o’ such a thing before. It would be payment enough for me to see you safe ‘n sound an’ gone from this dangerous place, aye, it would.”
Seraphine listens intently to Cheeky, the mouse's words a glimmer of hope in their challenging situation. She nods in agreement with Finn's gratitude. "Thank you, Cheeky, for your help and guidance. Your knowledge of the garden and its inhabitants is invaluable to us." With a respectful nod, she adds, "How about we start by finding Molder in the vegetable patch. He might have insights on what's happening underground, and it seems like a safe place to regroup and plan our next steps."
"Information really can come from the strangest of places," Valerian thinks to himself as he listens to this mouse lists off names of other creatures that can help them.
With all their options in mind, Valerian says, "We could do that or we could go to the pond and talk to Wisp and the bullfrog. He did say that the pond has some magical properties to it so maybe it'll be of some use to us?"
Valerian looks around at his companions to see what they have to say. "What do you think?"

Aralin, listened intently, "there is good merit in meeting this Wisp and bullfrog, while also going to the pond, more so 'if' it has magical properties!", he continues after a brief pause, "Any help we can get would be very useful and good strategy".
Out of the side of his mouth, Finn will whisper to the group, “So, have we abandoned the original mission? What if we get the things Rezlin asked for and he turns us big again because he needs the ingredients? Would it really hurt to try and gather them along the way?” He’ll give a swift but small jerk of his head towards Cheeky, “We have a mouse right here that wants to help us. What if we ask and then just,” he mimes rubbing his hands on the mouse’s coat.
Valerian wants sure what to believe about this situation and Rezlin himself but he was sure of one thing. "I don't trust Rezlin. He sent Agate and her team five days ago and they didn't return or turn back to their original size in eight hours as he said and still, he sent us off with no prior warning, speaking with great confidence about his potion. A person is dead. This feels a lot more serious than just going out and collecting items."The words came out in a burst of passion, unable to move his mind from the fact that someone had died so hopelessly here.
"I'm not telling you all what to do but I'm not going to risk my life to get anything for Rezlin. We could ask the mouse since he's right here but I say nothing beyond that. If we're going to rescue the other team, I'm here for that but I'd rather not risk any of us simply to collect things for him after he lied to us."Valerian says, twisting his dagger in his hand, still antsy after the attack they'd ensured.
"Woah, I didn't say we should actively seek out the mole or anything, I only said 'gather them along the way.' Ya know, like, if it's convenient." Finn puts his hands out, palms up, and shrugs, "I get your passion Valerian, I'm ready to save our own hides and take down Rezlin too, but I'm just looking at keeping our options open here."
He'll look to Cheeky, "So, what're the odds we could scratch your back a little? We'll collect whatever falls off and then be on our way."
Valerian shakes his head a bit and turns to Finn, "Yeah you're right, I'm sorry for springing against you like that. All the uncertainties in this situation are just getting to me. I think it's a good idea to focus on our safety and talking to the other critters, grabbing the items in case we get lucky,"
He smiles to lighten the mood as Finn makes a request of the mouse. Valerian is unsure of how this will go but he can see the logic in it, it's worth a try.

(because animal handling went sooo well for Finn last time lol -- hoping for the best!)
Finn will give a valiant and confident smile to Valerian, offering reassurance, "We can do this as a team." Then he'll reach out towards cheeky, a cloth in hand like Rezlin described. Animal Handling: 22
Seraphine takes in the discussion, noting the varying opinions of her companions. She values the camaraderie and the trust they're building, despite the precariousness of their situation. "Cheeky's guidance has been invaluable, and I think you are all right that it's wise to seek out Wisp and Gruup by the pond. The magical properties there could provide us with crucial information or even assistance. We need all the help we can get to understand this strange situation better and to protect ourselves." She pauses, her gaze shifting to Finn and Valerian. "I share Valerian's distrust of Rezlin. Sending us and Agate's team on this perilous quest without full disclosure is suspicious. However, Finn makes a good point. Gathering the items along the way, if convenient, might provide us with a bargaining chip or even a solution to revert our size."
Cheeky seems amused at Finn’s desire to pat him down but allows it. “Funny little critters,” he chuckles. “Can’t say as a little garden visitor such as yerself ever wanted to pet me before. Still, that don’t feel half bad…”
Finn’s cloth comes away with multiple mouse hairs, attached follicles, and some skin dander.
Finn, take inspiration for successfully patting down the mouse!
Valerian is impressed at Finn's swiftness in coming up with the plan to collect from the mouse and going through with it. He contemplates the next step of the plan as he does so.
"Cheeky, do you think you could tell us what direction the pond is in? Or guide us there?"He asks, quite abruptly as the idea strikes him. Given their size, they might end up wandering around aimlessly if they don't know where to go.
Finn beams with pride and very carefully folds up the cloth, placing it in a pouch. "Hopefully the trip to the pond isn't far, I look forward to speaking with the next creature!" He feels like he's in a real adventure now, trying to push back the rising terror of being small forever. The confidence in his companions quells his fear for now.
Cheeky indicates that following the stone pathway will lead to the pond eventually, though at your size it’ll be quite a hike. He will decline guiding you there, indicating that he must remain at his post in the flower garden, in case other critters in need of help show up.
Seraphine listens carefully to the exchange, her curiosity piqued by the ease with which they collected one of the ingredients. "Interesting, no one ever asked you to do that, heh?" she muses aloud. "It seems collecting these ingredients might be simpler than anticipated and not all that hard even for an old man. I believe this task to be a fool's errand. Also, the notes mentioned a lack of moles, not mice, and Rezlin's intentions remain extremely suspicious."
She looks at her companions, determination in her eyes. "Let's follow Cheeky's directions to the pond. Perhaps the magical properties there will offer us some clarity or assistance."
Grasping the rope firmly, she prepares for the journey ahead. "Everyone, hold on tight. Let's stay together and move quickly. The sooner we reach the pond, the sooner we have a chance to uncover more about our predicament."
With that, Seraphine leads the way, holding onto the rope and beginning their trek along the stone pathway towards the pond, ready for whatever challenges or revelations lie ahead. (Survival: 7 + 2 from Guidance)
Valerian holds onto the rope behind Seraphine and follows her lead. Staying together and moving quickly and quietly was their best plan for now.
He keeps an eye out for any moving creatures (the strange bees, birds, ants, other mouse or moles, etc) as they walk, not wanting to be caught offguard. The wounds on him that were yet to properly heal were a reminder to be careful. (Perception check: 16 + 4 = 20)

During his trance state Aralin received no guidance regarding the pond and those associated with it.
Aralin responds to the team, "Sorry team, I have nothing of value to add".
