As Gothazar looks arpund, he sees a toad as large as he is. Luckily, it hasn't noticed the party yet. It stands between the party, and the end of the walkway.
Gothazar whispers back to the party, describing what he can see and places his shield hand on the book at his side, preparing to cast sacred flame on the toad should it make any aggressive moves towards the party
Leif slowly moves away from the rest of the group as he tries to come close at the large toad. He slowly creeps and attempts to communicate with it using simple gestures and sounds he uses with swimming beasts.
"I come in peace, oh large, bumpy creature. Once I found what I need, I promise to leave you to your own devices."

Eidren cautiously creeps forward keeping an eye, and his crossbow, on the large toad. He takes a moment to recheck the surroundings for more creatures that may be lurking in the dark nearby.

The crystal is a pitch black, and has the same shape as the first part of the Elven Tear. It seems that it would fit in the hollowed part of the clear crystal.
As Eidren inspects the pedestal, he notices that the crystal is slightly raised, like it is sitting on a raised surface.

Eidren takes his thieves tools out of his pouch. He places them on the ground and methodically unrolls the tools, inspecting each one as he goes. Watching him work is watching a master perfecting their craft.
He works meticulously to disable the pressure plate. No one can see but a single bead of sweat forms on his brow as he focuses on the task at hand. The thought of flooding the chamber enters his mind as this place feels more dangerous than a collapsing tree.
Eidren, using only his tools, and what he can find around him, fashions a wedge. He jimmies it into the small crack of the pressure plate, stripping the mechanism of its ability to move. As Eidren grabs the last piece of the Elven Tear, the pressure plate does not move.
While holding the Dark's Misery, Eidren hears a voice. Though he has only heard stories of him, Eidren recognises he voice of his grandfather in his mind.
As he does, the crystals release a burst of light and energy. From the now connected crystal, two figures emerge, both Elven. The first is a beautiful woman, constructed of white and yellow light. The other is a dashing man, made of black and purple light. As they fly into the air, the laugh and sing, hugging each other.
"My love! It has been so long since I have last seen you!"
"All these years, and you are still as beautiful as I remember."
They turn and look at Eidren.
"Ah, grandaon, Eidren! How are you my boy?" the man asks.
"Oh, you must be confused. We will tell you about this later. Go, and take your friends to rest." The woman says with a sweet voice.

Tears well up in Eidren’s eyes as the spirits of his grandparents, murdered by their own kind, dance around him. The crystals glow, a dark shadowy energy swirls around and enters his body. A faint black fire flashes from his eyes and dark everyday emanates from his body. Looking at his crossbow, the loaded bolt is filled with the same energy
This is it. His destiny is upon him. He now has the power to avenge his family.

The toad doesn't make a move, it just good around, trying to find a good place to swim. It still hasn't noticed the party.
Though not a fish, the toad seems to roughly understand Leif. It let's put a large croak, and hops away.
Leif signals the rest to continue searching ahead with him for the Elven Tear.
Eidren cautiously creeps forward keeping an eye, and his crossbow, on the large toad. He takes a moment to recheck the surroundings for more creatures that may be lurking in the dark nearby.
Eidren only notice the occasional drip of water. As you continue down the walkway, you see a stone pedastal, with a black crystal on top of it.
Eidren slowly approaches the pedestal slowly. He goes through his usual routine checking for traps, alarms or triggers before inspecting the crystal.

OOC: Does the raised surface connect to the pedestal or is there a gap? Does it look like a pressure plate?

Eidren pulls the other cryatal out of his tunic. He holds both in his hands, entranced by the slight glow emanating from them.
‘This is it. My whole life has been leading to this moment.’
he takes a deep breath and connects the two crystals.

Still baffled and amazed at the same time by what he saw, Leif summons up the courage to ask the two figures with an ominous statement.
"This cave won't collapse by itself right? I just don't want for us to rest down here for eternity."
