{Horsch had said earlier that this is Maldravia. (I think)} Priscilla listens to the story intently. As it comes to the end, she starts nodding her head thoughtfully. "I am worried about a very specific something. I believe I need to go speak with our elders." She quickly gets up, and with a small group oof older 'tribe' members, heads a little ways into the woods, discussing something out of earshot. "Don't know what that's about." Horsch offers some more stew to those who want it. "I don't know how long y'all can stay, but I suspect there will be dancing and much merry making tonight, if you want to stay through the day." Suddenly, you hear someone yell "ROAD!" And before you even realise it happens, you are no longer sitting next to the road. Instead, it moved about 20 feet away from you. It doesn't even look like it wasn't there before. The space it previously occupied is filled with grass, weeds, and some wildflowers. Before your very eyes, a giant pine tree sprouts up to full growth, just several feet from where Priscilla was sitting.
Armeros' watches the elders head into the woods, suspicious of what they needed to discuss privately, but is distracted by the yell and sudden teleportation of the road. Specifically, the tree that popped up close to where Priscilla had been makes him curious. He tries to relate it to any magic he is familiar with but can't think of anything (Arcana 5), so gets up and steps over to examine it more closely (Investigation 12, Nature 14).
It's just a pine tree. "huh huh huh." Horsch starts to chuckle a bit. "You won't find anything odd about that tree. Don't know how. It's just part of the magic."
Jasmine was not expecting a full pine tree to sprout out of the ground. She turns her gaze to the road. She walks to its new position and leans down to observe the road and what kind of magic might be at play to make this possible. She already has a theory but she isn't sure of it. "The Shifting Road of Maldravia..." She mutters, trying to recall if she has heard about it that may help her figure out how the Road is shifting exactly.
Nothin'. Mayb you can think of some song lyrics that could be twisted into representing this, if that makes sense, but you can't directly recall anything. However, you do know that the golden road, or something like that, is mentioned in some nursery rhymes back home. Not in detail, just scattered around here and there.
Armeros gives Jasmine a glance, his tail flicking thoughtfully behind him. He wonders what insights she might have on all of this. Turning to Horsch, asks another question.
"Sir, I wonder...would you say you and the rest of your caravan are in good health?"
"Well, yes. can you provide any more detail to the question?" Horsch looks slightly confused. It seems like he's truly just a simple man, concerned with following the road, keeping his tribe safe, helping strangers apparently, and not much else.
"What I mean to say is, do you think the Golden Road has any effect on it...? Do you feel any different when you are off the road? Tired perhaps?" Armeros wonders if the path is a blessing or a curse.
Horsch takes a minute to think. "I don't think so, no. And I've been doing this for an awful long time, so I'd know. And what with the all of are ancestors, someone would know if that happened."
Jasmine shakes her head. She does not have any insight about this road outside of hearing about it once in nursery rhyms in passing towns. She say aloud, "I don't know what magic this is but I theorize it is some kind of space-warping magic; something akin to demi-planes.I think this road may actually be on a separate plane but imposes itself on our current one. When it shifts, it overlaps whatever was in its place on the material. It is why there is no visible markings on where the road has been before and entire trees sprout and vanish when the road goes over them or moves away." She pauses and then adds, "Either that or we somehow entered the Faewild where nothing makes sense. Either is possible I guess. I have no proof of either. It's just what came to my mind."
"All I know is that a road that won't take you where you need to go is not very useful. In fact, the more I think about it, a road that constantly changes where it's going is kind of annoying." Taxidea mumbles, "Now a road that changes so it takes you exactly where you want to go would be helpful - but this one seems designed by the trickster goddess herself."

Xondario will look to see if anything else about the surrounding changed that wasn't in the roads path, it did the trees behind them change or just those that are in the new roads path. He is looking to see if everything about the surroundings change or just the roads path. Xondario predicts the pine tree was there before the road moved over it previously.
Taxidea suddenly looks thoughtful. He gets up and walks over to the road, squats down and places his hand gently on the surface. "Hey Horsch," he calls over his shoulder, "you guys ever ASK the road to take you someplace specific? I mean, maybe if you're content to be aimless, maybe the road is too, you know?"
He rubs his hand gently on the road and this time speaks softly so that only someone standing near him would hear. "Maybe you just need a little direction, huh? Hey there...uh...road...I'm Badger. Say, my friends and I need to get to a big, triangular black tower-looking place. I'm betting that you probably know where it is, don't you? I was wondering if you could do me a big favor. Could you just point yourself Southeast - which is where we're told the tower would be - and just hold it there until we're at least in sight of that pyramid? Please? I'd really appreciate it."
