Are you doing you have to go over AC to hit, or just meet it? If it's meet, the human hit me and takes 12 fire damage from hellish rebuke. Other wise none of them hit.
Clapper will swing at thee goblin again with his dagger and than rapier using his bonus action for dual wieling..
Dagger: 14 to hit, 7 piercing damage.
Rapier: 17 to hit, 1piercing damage.
Once again, I'll cast hellish rebuke as a reaction the first time I take damage. (My AC is 16)

Thrudor tells his familiar to stay and watch. He gets up from the chair and alerts the others in the room with him "Fellow patrons of the library. There are cultists upstairs trying to kill a fellow patron of the library while stealing guarded information. We need to help stop them and help the mousefolk upstairs from being slaughtered. Quickly now.." Thrudor heads towards the door leading upstairs looking at the other patrons hoping someone will help

The hobgoblin swiftly dodges your hit. The human jumps out of the way in fear of being hit (you can make an opportunity attack) and then old woman shout "You fool! Come back and fight, like this!" On the word "this", she shoots a chromatic orb with 21 to hit and 9 thunder damage. The hobgoblin, who is angered about all those hits, decides to act macho and drop his knife, punching you in the chest with 20 and 3 bludgeoning damage.

[hobgoblin barely up] The human collapses to the ground, defeated. This enrages the old woman. "I may be just a Cultist, but our leader will find you." She thinks about escaping through the door, but that would be much too difficult, and there are no windows either. So she kneels down on the ground and surrenders.

clapper ignores her for now and makes on last (hopefully) attack on the goblin.
dagger: Attack: 26 Damage: 9 piercing.
rapier: Attack: 11 Damage: 6 piercing.

“Well I’m glad you’re making sense of all this.”  Beans head feels full of beans right now.  “I uh guess this might be worth some further investigation.  Whisper did you need something in town too could I stick with you for now?  What’s your next move?”  Linos looks slightly perplexed.
