15 is my roll for deception

"It is as my colleague says, You will be freed, but first we need you to answer some things." Mikhael says "Who is Sinruth? Why are they so revered?" He asks, his voice devoid of hostility. 

Persuasion: 12

"You let me go, then I draw you map. Not before."

"Sinruth is the strongest of hobgoblins. He is restoring the Red Hand to its former glory. Let me go and maybe I can put in a good word for ya, maybe he doesn't kill ya."

Balin tries to determine if the hobgoblin speaks truly or falsely.

Insight: 8

"Sinruth is at your camp?" feigns a little fear as if concerned that he is so close

"Sinruth is probably at the castle, Sinruth gotta take the prisoners there; all part of the deal."

He comes up with a deception of his own.

"Maybe you want them back? Maybe Morrik could bring them back if you set him free."

Deception 6

"If you don't tell us where you are going, how can we trust you to come back?  Besides, Castle?  Sinruth isnt smart enough to manage a castle."  

*** What direction did the hobs and ogre come from? The townsfolk were running around the street corner to the north. They were headed towards us though? So they came from the north?

"So this is about 'restoring' the Red Hand..." Mikhael muses. "Thank you."

Insight: 6

Good catch; the hobgoblins fled across the bridge so it's reasonable to suspect that they came from the north.

"If you all may give an old Tortle a moment to speak." He clears his throat "I came to town from the north, stopping at the river to catch my dinner on my way into the inn. I saw this castle Morrik here is talking about. I can lead us all there. Besides, I don't believe in torture, so we should just take care of him quickly. Nothing painful."

*** Aka'ula did in fact come in from the north cause he did stop at the river and catch some fish, but chances are he didn't see a castle lol.

"Please, don't lie, you're making this more difficult than it needs to be. It's also pointless, since dragonkin like me have special eyes that let us see through deceptions." Mikhael says, attempting to trick the hobgoblin into giving further attempts at misdirection. Would this be a deception or an intimidation roll?

Jakob walks into the room and leans against the wall and crosses his arms glaring at the goblin with his cat eyes.

ooc thought - how long ago did the hobgoblins flee?  i missed that point earlier.  is anyone a tracker?  Actually they shouldn't be hard for anyone to track, they don't seem like graceful creatures

ooc: the town guard chased the remnant over the bridges last night

"Maybe we don't even need Marrik's help.  We can have the guards keep him for a bit longer, Aka'ula seems familiar with the area North - how hard could it be to track down this castle?"
