The Wiz tosses aside the daggers and holds the quickly heating beetle. Remembering the wink it gave him earlier, The Wiz gives it a wink in kind. "I won't abandon my animal friends." He then casts Mage Hand and uses it to hold his metal beetle friend and tries not to think of his goat friend that he absolutely abandoned.

Is there room above the metal plates and below the ceiling? could we fly, or have #9 carry us over his head? Is there room to try that?

There is a 1 foot gap along the bottom and the top but it isn't going to make a difference.
