Wysp's New Groove

While Alexia waits for everyone else to decide what to do, she's going to hit 9 a couple times with lightning lure. Hopefully, she can get them to full health.

Success! After sending a great number of lightning spells at Number 9 he is back to full health!

(He is quite durable but was also badly damaged)

Lightning snapping and kayak being dragged about, big brown bear Ember-Bear moved as far from the activity so as to be 'out of the way' for the moment. 

Settling onto his four paws, Ember-Bear shook his massive head, and the dense forest aura fades. The form's heavy pelt dissolves like smoke in a breeze, leaving behind a small fae figure, the scent of pine and damp earth lingering in the air.

"With Number 9 healed up I thought being normal 'me sized' would be easier with the kayaks.  Any chance of patching one up so Nine can float along with us?"

*huge missed opportunity to call him Embear*

"I am more of the 'blow things up' rather than the 'fix things up' kind of wizard, but I do like to dabble. Hmmmm...."

The Wiz loosens up his hands with a series of gentle stretches, but limbers up by doing some toe touches. After feeling loose and a lot less stiff from the many stabbings, and only leaking a small bit of blood from the stretches, he flexes his most impressive muscles.

Then he flexes his somewhat less impressive mind. 

He casts Mending, which is remarkable, but what makes it even more remarkable is that he doesn't know the spell, pulling the information from thin air. Or rather, he pulls the information from his Hat of Wizardry with an Arcana Check of 25. He uses the single minute to try repairing one of the kayaks as best as he can.

Well it is difficult to keep the kayak repaired while The Wiz in standing in it in the pit =)

"Let's put an empty kayak into the stream, see if i come back. If not well..."

Unless objections, Grey will put one of the working Kayaks into the stream. Then go back to mending the broken ones.

The kayak floats down the lazy river and eventually circles back.

We can do bloop bloop back and have Ember go back to Bear. The bear would fit in the tunnel.

Then The Wiz will scoot out of danger on his repaired and not repaired kayak to join the rest of the party. He places his hands on his hips and leans back. "Whew! I totally realize I just fumbled my one hat trick. Happens to every elf at least once when we reach my age. I should be good now though."

One person per boat or two?

The Wiz never rides alone. He is a social butterfly (and an unarmored chap). If he finds himself in an empty raft, he will hop over to another. 

Alexia tries to avoid sharing a boat, but will if absolutely necessary. 

Ember can fit easily in a kayak with The Wiz... with room to spare.

"If Alexia wishes to kayak alone, it still works, since the empty kayak came back 'full circle'... she can float around to the other side and let her kayak 'come back' so Number 9 can fit in a kayak solo."

"That is, unless The Wiz and I just go and explore the other side to see if there is anything worth exploring???"

Grey is fine sharing or solo, though if hesitant to split up!

So Ember and The Wiz in Recon Boat 1.

Grey and Number 9 in Heavy Weight 1 (I'm not calling anybody fat! You are just the largest bodies in the party)

Recon 1 floats down the mysteriously suspended river and into darkness. The experience could be relaxing if it weren't for the sulfur smell and knowledge of impending doom!

After several bumps and turns you see a light ahead. Recon 1 soon enters a huge chamber. It measures about 70 feet wide and 90 feet long. The room is lit by arcane eternal flames in sconces equally space along the walls. The space is defined by terraced steps that ring the entire area and descend toward a central enclosure. 

The lazy river ride current sends the boat in a circular motion which would carry it around the perimeter of the room and back to another hole in the wall which you presume will take you back to the party.

 As you ride you see each level is 10 feet lower than the one before. The top is water held back by nearly transparent walls. 10 feet below that is an area of sand also with transparent walls. 10 feet below is another watery level, and finally another sand level. 

Still relaxing but you can see large dark shells and claws begin to emerge from the sandy bottom of the top water level. It looks like the other levels have motion as well.... Yay, back into darkness and return to your friends.
