Portia will go down the other corridor, checking for traps and checking the doors for any traps/lights/voices, with Dragen following to provide some light.
You all watch and follow as Portia sneaks down the northern hallway to the first door [closest] door. A brief check doesn't reveal any traps or noises from the other side. The door does have a keyhole and is currently locked.
The door is made of stone, with steel binding it to the wall and around the edges. It is well constructed. It would require something to smash through stone to get through and would be loud and time consuming.
[Feel free to roll an investigation on the door Grommok, and others also. I already used Portia's investigation for what you all know.]
Portia looks at Grommok "Not yet my friend. We can try the other one first before we start making a lot of noise."
Portia will go down to the other door, again checking for traps and checking the doors for any traps/lights/voices. With Dragen again following to provide some light.
You get to the second door, down the longer northern hallway. At this point you notice that all the doors are all similar, well crafted, and have stood the test of time. Like the other doors, this one also has a locking mechanism, but it is not currently locked when you give the handle a little twist. You don't detect any traps either. You do hear talking on the other side of the door, very faint, but you don't recognize the language. As you listen, you hear the sound of a crate or barrel slide against the stone floor.
The room is a mess – cluttered with shattered crates and torn packages, their contents spilled across the floor. A quick glance confirms that everything here is recent, nothing aged or long forgotten. Supplies, clothing, and scattered tools lie haphazardly, most of them ruined beyond use
Beyond where you stand, two doors mark possible exits, and a passage opens to the south.
Your torchlight flickers across the wreckage, casting shifting shadows. Amidst the chaos, two kobolds rummage frantically, their clawed hands sorting through the mess. One of them hunches over a sack, its contents squirming, writhing against the fabric.

Portia does not see the chest in the room to the West.
"Not in the room with the kobolds. Maybe behind one of the other doors?"

You are unable to unlock the door. Its mechanisms seem more complicated than you've experienced before.
What is the door made of?
Grommok will ask the group, "Should I try to bust it down?"
"I cast Fireball."
