"I'm not sure that's a good idea. Kobolds might not be the smartest thinkers but they're cunning and they know the area better than us. They'll probably try to flank us, or attack from two directions; and I'd prefer not to be wading through burning oil if we have to head that way."
She thinks for a moment "Actually, Grommok, can you see if the way back is clear? In the meantime the rest of us can move these crates to block this one. That way we'll be fighting on one front only."
“The other route’s too long. Even if they dash, they won’t reach us in one turn. I’d rather strike now than waste the opportunity.”
They glance toward the side corridor. “If we commit to this, I'd rather block the flank. Make them waste time walking if they try anything clever.”
(Does moving objects cost an action? If not then im guessing we can move the crates and then use an action to ready an attack? Or we can close the door and then stack crates behind it so they won't know the door is blocked.)
[All the doors in this room appear to open into the room, so stacking boxes would definitely have an impact. Moving /stacking the boxes would be an action. Two people working together should be enough to block a door from opening, requiring a high DC strength roll by the kobolds to open.]
Let me know if you want to be somewhere else. Also, I put the torch in the middle of the room on the ground. Let me know if you have a different plan. I'll give you some time to respond, then the kobolds will go...

Oh sorry, I meant for Dragen to be where the dead Kobold is next to the hallway entrance. Trying to keep cover

You wait, sword and bows in hand listening. A few seconds go by, and you wait, in the light of the single torch. Nothing happens, the doors don't open and the kobolds don't come flowing in. Time to decide what you all go next.
Technically its Portia's turn, but you can all go as your all up before the kobolds next round.
A quick check of the western door doesn't reveal much. It appears similar to the other doors thus far, unlocked and no trapped. Checking on the northern door, Portia is able to see a bit of light coming in from under the door, flickering as if from a torch or fire. She also hears movement, though it sounds calm, not like a pack of kobold's running towards you.
Let me know if you want to do anything else on your turn in addition to what you just said, and then we can move to the kobolds!
"We might as well block the other door. It'll buy us more time. Orc, help me with this."
If everyone agrees, Gelidus will move the boxes to the southern door. If there's hesitation, they'll cast Resistance to piercing on Grommok.
Edit: I just realized with Gelidus' speed, they might not make it to the door? If they can't make it, they'll cast Resistance on Grommok and move to the bottom right corner of the room.
(Also, question! in my character sheet, resistance says the creature reduces the total damage taken of a damage type by 1d4. but in the forum, it says add a d4 to saving throw, which one do you allow?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dragen: 22 [dodge action]
Kobold Inventor: 21 [released skunk]
Kobolds #2: 20 [2 Thrown Daggers, 1 dashed]
Portia: 18 << ========== YOUR TURN
Kobold Inventor 2: 18
Grommok: 13
Gelidus: 9
The door to the south opens and two kobolds come rushing up the hallway towards you all. Behind them, the kobold who had run away from you, opens a small cage, and a small black and white animal comes running behind the kobolds.
Skunk Initiative: 6
Both kobolds throw daggers at Dragen, w/disadvantage because he is dodging.
kobold 1: 19 dmg: 5
kobold 2: 6 dmg: 4
The door to the west opens and another kobold comes rushing in. He had to dash so his turn is over.
Grommok you had readied an action to attack, so you can make that now.
Portia listens to Gelidus' words.

Dragen spends his movement kipping up with his Halfling Nimbleness and moving to close the flank door.
"Thanks for the assist!" He'll brace and wait someone to block the door
[Does this seem correct based on what you all want to do?]
Kobold: 13Top of Round
Sounds good! Need a Athletics check?
"I cast Fireball."
"Are you sure you want to do that?"
"I cast Fireball."
"It's a 15 by 15 room."
"I said I cast Fireball."

Got it! Repositioned you!

Grommok will ready an attack unless somebody wants him to do something.

"I said I cast Fireball."
Gelidus whispers as their eyes flick between the northern and western doors. “Maybe we’ve got time to check the other doors.”
“If we find a safe place—make the kobolds lose us—we might skip the fight entirely.”
Portia moves to check the other doors, looking for traps.

We'll go with what is on the sheet, subtract a d4.
Moving the boxes will be an action, but the kobolds are up so you'll need to see what they do before your next action!

Portia your turn! Then back to the (one) kobold!
Portia sees the skunk and fires an arrow at it, the last thing they want in a fight is to be choking on its scent.
