"Indeed." Kor sits a little straighter, bolstered by some pride. "I wandered the world aimlessly for years. I grew to the point that I feared my god and the terror unleashed with it. I could no longer function. One day, I fell through a crack in the earth and landed in her mighty hands. She told me that she had been waiting for me and knew my pain. She could read my soul, she said, and that mine was a sad story. She felt... warm."
Kor presents his other katana. The white one with gold filigree, which now upon closer inspection is white, with the pommel in the shape of a dragon head, the hilt the neck, and the scabbard the body. The gold filigree is an elaborate design that creates beautiful dragon-like themes.
"She told me that I would never have to worry about killing the wrong person ever again. Then she breathed fire and ice into her other palm, forming steam, and handed it to me. Yes, the steam. 'Think of the weapon you need before you sleep and when you wake, it shall become', she said. She also said that it can only harm evil and becomes steam for those who are not."
Kor pulls the blade free slowly. The blade certainly appears hard like steel, but it has a curious design that appears to be roiling steam. In fact, as he holds it, the white, almost Damascus Steel-like design does literally roil within the blade's shape. He reverses the hold on the blade and holds out the hilt to the parties. "Please, anyone, feel free to demonstrate on me."
Brother Bombur holds in his hand a Dragon's Wrath Weapon (Slumbering). It is a magic item, does require Attunement, has no charges. It does not have spells currently active on it, but it does carry draconic quirks due to how it was created. It offers resistance to either Fire or Ice Damage, which can be chosen upon waking from a long rest, it can be changed into a weapon of the attuned person's choice upon a long rest, and it can only be used to cause damage to those of the Evil Alignment.
Brother Bombur smiles. “Such a magnificently crafted weapon lends credence to your tale, though I hesitate to believe that you met with such a mythical entity as the Gilded Porcelain Dragon. But I also do not wish to call you a liar.” He handed the weapon back to Kor.
Kor accepts the sword, but does not engage the comment on the veracity of his tale. He simply smiles and accepts another cup of tea. He balances the empty mug on the ridge of the sword to demonstrate its solid nature, then plunges the sword into his own belly!
The sword explodes out of his back, but he does not bleed. Just at the point of contact with his body, the sword appears as steam on either side. He drags the sword through his body until pulling it out the side, where for just a moment, the sword tip appears as a floating piece all on its own. Steam stretches out from it and the base of the sword, where they connect and form a single, solid blade again. "It feels a little funny. Almost like a tickle, but not quite."
He sheathes the katana once more. "It seems that I am not a 'bad guy' after all." Kor says, winking at Ylis.
Entropy crosses her arms. "Quite an impressive weapon, though it seems like such a waste to receive a weapon from such a magnificent creature that is essentially training wheels for one who cannot tell good from evil on their own."
Jacaranda watches with detached interest, " Kor, have you come across many Fiends in your travels through this area? Anything in particular to watch out for?"
Kor looks at Randa like she just struck him. "Yes. I have. All fiends are to be watched out for." He says, all joy washed from his voice. "I am not one who studies fiends, but Bazzoxan is under an endless assault; the city is built upon a tear in the dimension that leads straight to the Abyss. The people there suffer greatly, but to save the people of Xhorhas, and indeed, the world, can live life free of demons. Sometimes fiends slip through. I spent many years there. It is because I had lived there that I am here now. Even when you know what you fight is evil, eventually, you just get tired of fighting. Why do you ask?"
Morgan is both amazed and a little... annoyed (even angry?) by the sword. How can a tool decide what’s good or evil? Maybe it’s a judgment of a god… but surely there are plenty of other gods who would disagree. If there are 100 gods, there are 100 criteria for right and wrong.
He considers sneaking up on Kor to test the sword on his own hand, but he doesn’t want to look too sneaky around someone who clearly means business.
So, with an impulsive leap, Morgan jumps to his feet and thrusts his arm toward Kor. "Do me! Now do me! I mean… the sword! The sword... through the hand!"
(Persuasion: 8... if we keep rolling like this, he’s really going to kill us)
Kor nods approvingly, despite Morgan seeming a bit overeager to risk being sliced (Dat 8 Persusation!). Thankfully, Kor seems to already delight in demonstrating the sword's ability and pulls it free again, slicing upward in an arc from his seated position that would have severed Morgan's hand clean off at the wrist. The sword becomes mist at the point of contact and passes through, causing a slight tickling sensation through the entire wrist as it goes. The sensation lingers for a second or two and fades. The sword reforms in this span of a heartbeat.
Kor then looks to Ylis and frowns. "I am sorry, I cannot go back there again. I am done killing, except for one more. I have gotten enough killing done there to last many lifetimes. You are good people. Not just because the sword says so, but because of how you have treated me, a stranger on the road in the dead of night. You will do fine if you stick together."
"Friends gone by my hand
Or theirs. Bronze leaves drift away.
Wise fighters regret."
Maggie offers.
Kor nods. "Very good. It is still missing the where, but very good effort. Do you regret, Maggie?"
Maggie considers Kor's question, then looks to Ayo. "Not yet." she says. Kor nods again, finding understanding and something of a kindred spirit he clearly respects.

Frekor tilts his head to the side for a moment curious.
-Who or what is that "one more" that you want or need to kill?- asks the ranger to Kor.
"I believe..." Kor pauses, "I believe that my blade's curse will end when I pass to the afterlife. I do not wish to carry it anymore. You have been helpful already, friend Frekor. You and your friends have shared laughs and shared with me beautiful poetry."
