Jacaranda shook her head at Nivi but then her attention was caught by the light, she began to walk towards the interior doors holding her left hand up to touch the stone.
"Question!" is the first thing Morgan blurts out as the pink bubbles, spectral shields, flumph, monodrone, and the rest of the inexplicable visitors from elsewhere finally begin to fade away.
He watches them disappear with a mix of relief and regret.
Then he turns to the wounded soldiers. "I'm sorry, but your best option is probably the infirmary. Things here are going to get worse before they get better."
He points toward the entrance. "One last question: are there any other known ways into this place?"
As he waits for an answer, Morgan leans over the bridge and peers into the depths below. "Does this bridge always do that?" He squints. "IT's creepier than a scary clown."
Before moving on, he turns back to the soldiers one last time. "Oh, and if tomorrow a killer-bunny-girl shows up and says she's with us..."
He considers it.
"...may I suggest that you don't piss her off and just let her in?"
The officer nods. “Aye, that’s her name, Question.” The officer seems to make a mental note and his thoughts linger there for a moment. He frowns at the refusal to lend aid to his companions, but he seems to understand if you pack of psychos want to go deeper into this nightmare.
“Uh, yeah, we think there are probably several ways in and out. If they exist, they wouldn’t be very easy to navigate, since their incursions into the city generally involved squads peppered throughout the city rather than a single massive invading army. We figure they squeeze through one at a time in some hole or another that we can’t locate. Though, with you guys finding the cult under the sewers, maybe there are no holes and they are just getting help.” His expression sours at the thought of mortals helping fiends get into the city.
The soldier then notes the voices. He shivers. “You could try that way.” He jokes to try breaking the tension he feels building as the voices persist. “Anyway, if you got things to do and intend to go playing with a literal building of evil, we will be off. Best of luck. We will send your friend in after you if she shows up. She’ll have to be even crazier than you are though to want to go in alone to find you.”
As Randa reaches up to touch the stone, the door opens by itself.
The officer shakes his head rapidly. “Oh hells no. We are going now. Right. Now.” He helps pick up the tiefling woman with the twisted legs. She grunts in pain, but the officer seems more concerned with expediency than being gentle. The six soldiers limp out of the entryway, each giving a nod of respect to the heroes. Meanwhile the voices from the silver mist continue to whisper threats dressed up as temptations to Frekor and Nivi.
"Is this a good idea?"Sky asks aloud as the ... whatever it is opens. "Us venturing down into what we've been told is a trapped, changing, mapless labyrinth of some kind, without our primary healer, and possibly no easy place to rest and recover should we face a battle as devastating as Desu?"

Jacaranda looked back over her shoulder at Sky, " Good idea? Absolutely not.....but I have friends in trouble inside. So that's where I'm going."
